After ~2 minutes, MS shuts down, with

HackShield: Initialization Error (66817)
Detected game hack tool execution.

Shut down most of the stuff I run and it didn't help, this is what is still running.

I have no idea why any of these would be detected as hacking tools, and a lot of them are kinda vital Windows services so I don't know what to shut down >_>

I would get rid of your turtle thing, disable the anti virus and that task thing. thing thing k? thing?

Well don't disable your antivirus but try and whitelist the Nexon directory just to remove that concern.

From what I've seen on the AsiaSoft forum another user with the same antivirus was having this issue, although I can't tell if removing it solved the issue.

Maple folder is already whitelisted, otherwise avira detects it as a rootkit (which it kinda is)

I take you've actually tried completely disabling the antivirus as well?

Yeah, even shutting it down completely (which I'm not happy to do) I still get the same error.

as I said in IRC when I was at home, I'm getting the same error as you on kMS.. I wonder if it has something to do with tortoise SVN? I was using it as well the first few times I tried running MS. it's uninstalled and I'm still getting the error, but perhaps it's something that it might have left behind after the uninstall? it's the only similarity I can see between your processes & mine that is somewhat uncommon.

Yeah, I submitted a ticket to Nexon about it so maybe they can shed some light? >_> in the meantime I guess now is a good time to install XP on another computer that I was planning to.

Try running MS after you get the message. It worked for Devil's Sunrise and I.

Wait, Hackshield hates XP users?

I'm fcked.

Is Hackshield supposed to be this borked up for its first version being used other games? I don't want to get my characters stupidly banned because Hackshield somehow thinks Avast is a hacking tool.

When I googled the error, I found people on MSEA complaining about the same thing. So I guess so >_>

I have that running and my maple is fine.

Well,after this stupid update with HackShield.
Lemme explain what's happening with me:
First,did the patch.
Then,Clicked in the Maplestory icon,the HackShield update thing popped up,then it did all the update.
Then,after that,Theres a banner saying,HackShield for Online game,the default one.
Then,it asks for my connection,and then i get this.
The error says:
MyKeyDefense: Initializing Error (nothing) (0x32A1000B)

Just wanna know whats happening to maplestory,hackshield is just an stupid company that cant even protect their games,thats why its on most games that dont got any security against such problems,i just wonder why...

My husband got this on his Vista computer, so I presume it's supposed to work like a Vista program now? :f6:

He tried opening it again and it wanted him to verify the maplestory.ini file and clamed it couldn't find it etc... and now the program is pissy and wants to run windows installer every time we open it, so I guess we'll reinstall now.

Hackshield say's there's a hack running after two minutes of playing for me as well. Crap.

I logged a ticket to Nexon. I suppose that's all to do.

I wonder how many people will get an auto response telling them to play the game "properly"?

I tried that...I really don't know how to work the program other than click on Report Product Error and send the info. Hopefully they'll fix it or something. o_O


EDIT: pineappleing hell, now MS closes without any error whatsoever. FUUUUUUUCK

i think you just need to delete the shortcut on your desktop and make a new shortcut from the MapleStory folder (no need to reinstall) :x it happened a couple patches ago, i guess its happening again.

I've ran TortoiseSVN on this computer, and uninstalled it (before I ever ran MS with Hackshield). Hackshield allows me on MapleStory, so I don't think that it is causing this behavior.
