Pap + Puppet

I tried to solo pap about a week or so ago, celebrating my passing of Hurricane 30 after 3 tries. Biggrin So, I went in, and I tried the puppet trick with pap. Now, what I've noticed is that, even though I would puppet, he would somehow lose aggro on the puppet and go after me.

Now, I could be just new at it, but, I would like someone to kindly explain how to effectively use puppet at Pap. Thank you! ^_^

Puppet has to be casted in the very corner--> and you have to keep pap KBed in the very corner<--. Once that is done, Pap will not use any physical attacks but summon bombs/ slow/ dispel/ stun. This basically saves a portion of HP pots really.

The above is correct about the placement. By putting the Puppet way in the right corner, Pap can't attack anywhere behind the left platform area. If that's your problem, you just have to make sure to keep him far enough away.

If that isn't your problem, I have no idea what's up. I've never once had Pap lose aggro on the Puppet when I'm soloing. If you ever have someone inside with you (hiding in the corner), I've found Pap doesn't aggro to the Puppet if you place one after he shells. Dunno what's up with that. It doesn't happen solo.

Well, I can't KB pap yet. I can get about 8k or so with level 7 SE + warrior elixer. Do you think that's the problem or no?

Yes, this is your problem. You need to be able to pin him for the Puppet technique to work.

Oh. If that's the case, I should try to solo him when I can do his KB, which is 10k?

Just to be safe, you might wanna wait until your minimum critical damage is 10k. I don't know how this works with Hurricane though.

Use an onyx apple and it should be easy as a pie Goggleemoticon

When he hides double puppet it so it doesn't lose it's aggro.
That's what I did back when I couldn't KB it.

Does it have to be in the far corner?
Can't it be like... near the stairs, as long as it's out of it's attack range?

Once you can KB him and keep him in the corner puppet trick works very well, it makes the run go almost twice as fast if not more. Puppet not only prevent him from doing magic damage it also doesn't let him hide in his shell every few seconds. If you can't keep him in the corner he can easily move into puppets range and start attacking it or go into shell like he normally does.

Try using Ciders or Apple. It looks like you went with maxing hurricane first so its going to be a problem reaching that 10k+ constantly without the bow mastery and higher level SE. If you went with one of those 2 skills first you could have atleast used strafe to kill pap early, but with hurricane build you'll have to wait a bit more and work on those 2 skills or use apple.

Yes it just has to be out of the attack range, doesn't have to be in the corner. But pap's lightning attack can go quite far so if you put it by the stairs and had to talk in buddy/guild for a sec it can be a bit of problem since pap will move forward and can easily get in range. I think paps lightning range is just a bit shy of the bowman boss in cwk pq.

Well, my build right now currently is thanks to KaidaTan. Get most of the skills to 21, meaning Hurricane, Bow Expert, then SE, then finish off somewhere down the line.

And about the double puppet, I tried that and it worked, but I didn't puppet it to the very far right, therefore, he was kinda stuck on the stairs sorta.

Do you always have to double puppet when he turtles?

I told you this on vent. You double-puppet if puppet is still alive, single-puppet if it isn't.
