What's wrong with kazoo? O_o He's a nice guy. Rolleyes

As long as people that get selected for these programs do good stuff, I'm glad.

I just hope it isn't going to be a popularity contest...

And I agree with Takeback. Kazoo is a cool guy.

Yes, and Cyanne too.

Just cause they might annoy people doesn't mean they'd be poor mods. Orangeking11 from basil adds xD's to everything much like Kevvl and his Aya's. It's a signature more than anything else, on a forum that doesn't allow signatures.

I wouldn't trust the SW people though lol. Their forum is arguably worse than basil's.

regardless, that was just a thought I had. I doubt that's how they're going to pick people.

This letter would be more encouraging if it came at a time when I wasn't being smacked around by random glitch autobans (like today) Rolleyes

Doubt the Deputy Program is anything special. Probably the Alert GM button that MSEA had.

They won't give you Gm powers, and let you ban people, so get over that dream. :f6:

Yay Tespia's back? Brb making 1,000 more accounts./sarcasm

This year is going to be super wonderful and full of awesomeness!- When don't they say this. Eek

I am looking forward to the 4th anniversary though. I can't believe I've been playing this game for 4 years. >.>

volunteer programs can work two ways lol. Being scouted and asked, or if people self volunteer and go through a selection process.

Oh. I guess they'll stick to scouting their own forums if they do it the first way then. God forbid they work with the rogue website. (Southperry)

I can't believe I still don't have an 8x character after 4 years. Frown

I was thinking the first way, simply because the second would create too many applicants to sort through.

unless they use a system like KMST to automatically weed out players based on some requisite (I think it's a 1year old file and lvl 50 for KMST?)

even then it's still a ridiculous amount of potential testers/Mods.

Oooh, I hope they pick based on seniority. xD

I would rather have this Volunteer Deputy Program done through a thorough selection process with strict guidelines, much like a college application or a job resume. It would also be nice if a small interview was in place including the application process; of course there would be pre-requisites also (no ban history, a character over 70, etc). This is the most likely way to get reliable "workers".

Though this is all wishful thinking. Sad

I think you are making it sound like a bigger deal then it actually is.

The deputy program has a lot of potential, but at the same time, I am worried about immature kids getting to be volunteer deps. They could easily just use... whatever power they are given on anyone that annoys them.

Idealy, they should have something on their website where players can sign up, but have many requirements
~Never been banned for any reason (means that you follow all the rules/at least never been caught cheating)
~Have at least 1 character over level 120 (means you have experienced many parts of the game)
~Have your account be at least 1 or 2 years old (This would go hand in hand with the never been banned requirement. It would mean that if you were banned on one account, you couldnt just create another to get into the dep program)
~Logged in at least once within the last week (Kind of pointless, since people can just sign in and then go directly to the place to register, but it might help with getting active players)

And even if it is volunteer, I think it'd be nice if they gave out maplepoints for helping catch botters/hackers. But, only after they have already been a deputy for a specific amount of time(this way, new deps wouldnt just be using their powers on innocent players for maple points)

What if you were accidently banned (such as the person banned for Shadow webbing)? Can't help Nexon because they screwed up something?

Cyanne Wrote:Ariant's in Ossyria, lol. The Volunteer Deputy thing sounds interesting though, and it's good that they've finally figured out how to deal with the Tespia thing.

According to the world map, Ariant is in Nihal Desert and Ossyria is in El Nath Mountains.

I think some people are reading too far into this volunteer thing.. I really doubt that you're gonna have "special powers" or any powers for that matter o_O Maybe the only power they might get is having some sort of contact with a GM for if they catch a hacker.. and if someone were to abuse it by say spamming a GM.. then they can just cut off contact from that person

Correction! Ossyria is the entire continent, which is made up of Orbis, El Nath, Ariant, Magatia, Mu Lung, Herb Town, and Leafre.
