The "Post Your Monster Book" Thread (Pre-BB)

I got more, even a Pianus card I got while hunting Pianus with my friend to complete a quest, but I'm focusing to FINISH all the noob monsters' (red) section. Still a long way to go, but well.. that's it.

So as i'm looking at this, i'm realizing for higher levels they can never complete the monster book. Like for Papa Pixie, a level 120 can't go do OPQ, so will the only chance he has of getting it is if a GM has a summoning event? Which is slim already, not including the chance of getting a card. But that kinda seems like a broken system, since I know there will be people who will want to have the whole book complete. :/

There was events in kMS where you could get cards in exchange of 1000 (?) leafs; eventually those events will be available in GMS also.

Never would have thought I'd find another card again :O.

wow, that's the first card of a new boss I've seen. I've killed 75 Kimera and over a hundred Zeno and had no luck with them, so we were starting to think the new bosses might be glitched.

There was events in kMS where you could get cards in exchange of 1000 (?) leafs; eventually those events will be available in GMS also.

Thousands. Like, Mano is 1000. And it goes up like 500 for each boss, so Papulatus for example needs like 15,000 leaves.

Of course, Leaves in KMS dropped at a 100% rate (and sometimes more than one from a monster) so that wasn't too hard.

I've hunted chimera so much that I've gotten two hwabi drops and I've made probably near 1b mesos from the scroll drops (most scrolls are about 4m each and I'll find maybe 1 per 2 runs [38 chimeras]). how many cards have I found? 3.

2 hwabis. 3 cards. area boss cards drop at an EXTREMELY low rate.

That's not that low, you're lucky! I killed 75 Kimera yesterday with only a couple of scroll drops. Isaac killed 75 the night before with nothing. I've also killed them randomly, I'd say probably together we've killed over 200 with no card yet.

Same with other bosses. Combined, we've killed probably over 400 Eliza, 150 Zeno, 50 Dyle, 20 Faust, 30 Deo.

None have dropped cards yet.

Just because it's a boss doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to have a better drop rate. Even though big bosses like Pap, Zakum, and Pianus have relatively high drop rates, it doesn't mean that the area bosses, which are essentially just high level normal monsters, will be the same. Maybe it takes 1000 bosses to get a card. It's not particularly likely, but it's possible nonetheless.

I don't think I properly illustrated just how many chimeras I've killed to get those 3 cards. it's literally just about the only thing I did on maple for a few months or so while I was unemployed. around this time I'd kill more than 200 chimeras in a day (mainly because I only had to go to the PC once every 45 minutes..) and I did this every day for a very long time.

these cards are rare as hell.

Yes, they really are. I've hunted about 200+ of each of the minibosses and the only card I've gotten was Centipede's. :X Miniboss cards are probably the rarest. Maybe Anti-Bot monsters are more rare, but I've never tried obtaining them. ;X

I hunted like 1k+ Centipede's when it was glitch'd, i had to drop scrolls and elixirs and etc, even got 1 steely. I made around 5000+ Elixirs and 2400+ Power. No card yet

Come on, they really shouldn't be so rare. NEXON should be doing some 2x Monster Card drop events or something like that, because this really is madness.

With one card you only get to see the monster's pic on your Monster Book.. but to obtain all its informations you need FIVE of those cards.. which would take months of hunting.. or maybe even more.

If you obtained ALL the boss' informations with one card, it'd make more sense.

On topic: Has anyone noticed that the card drops seem alot more rare here then in KMS?
