If I had invisible arms, I would torture the sh'it out of those f'uckers instead of just killing them.

Ah, that is one of my favorite scenes! I love how Lucy just blows those pricks up with her vectors.

For some reason, I felt much more sad for that poor puppy than for the kids.

That's what I'm getting at with this thread.

When I watched Elfen Lied, my reaction to this scene was, "Wow. Fucking kids..."

That shows you have more hate than sincerity
Just kidding, I hate the kids equally to how sad I am about the dog.

the manga was so sad..... never watched the anime, but the manga is much more gory though.

Going to have to agree. The manga was much longer and much more disturbing. It was a strange yet addicting story. The anime, while fun to see one of my favorite mangas animated, disappointed me.
And yeah, anyone who abuses anyone else for pure satisfaction deserves the same fate, Imho. Like that sick kid who threw his cat that was following him over the bridge onto a highway.

Hm, I was suppose to read that manga a while ago, it became another thing I am procrastinating on...

Wow, impressed to see fellow manga readers in this thread. Awesome.
Yes, the manga is way better than the anime. Anime was short, boring and not even that great besides the initial allure from the first episode. Anime covers like...barely half of the manga story. And ironically, the latter half (all the stuff after the anime ends) is my favorite.

The Elfen Lied abridged series was amazing straight from the beginning.

I'm a big fan of the manga, I read it not too long ago, but I wanted to re-watch the anime after I read the manga for the first time. Lot more detail and information is a fact.

I was disappointed in the ending for both the manga and anime. I was really hoping for an ending that puts khota and lucy together

Such a gory piece of work getting a romantic ending = DO NOT WANT
Still, the end of the anime hinted at Lucy coming back and beating the crap out of that annoying little whore Yuka

there was no room for a happy ending, she killed way too many people and was way too disturbed.

There should be a Elfen Lied VN.
Now that'd be something interesting.

Did anyone else find the story unnecessarily long and filled with excessive blank space?
