Damn, that was good. I loved Ash/Angela's expression as he/she got raped by Sebastian in his true form. Sebastian is such a bad ass; too bad we didn't get to see his true form. 7/10 good show, could of been better.
Maria-sama ga Miteru 4th 13:
What a nice ending. I liked how we finally got the full story on Touko's past. Yumi x Touko x Sachiko please <3. Season 5 anyone?
FelixTM Wrote:And Lexy, what's with the Akikan hate? So what if it's QUALITYlicious at times? It's a hilarious series with many ridiculous characters. There's lesbianism (always appreciated), CATS, great humor and a FABULOUS gay guy with a sexually exploitable assistant. I don't get how this isn't awesome.
Season 2 would always be welcome in my book.
Well, I'm not quite sure.
The humor is definitely a new take on things... but after three episodes, I just got bored of it. Add to that the predictable lines and scenes (even Kakeru's "sudden" bursts of horniness[?] aren't really all that random) and the art, and I've got some blogging material.
I liked Otoya. He is awesome.
Kakeru is okay.
The rest of the characters... I loathe them with a passion (don't ask me why - I don't know). Especially Budoko.
FelixTM Wrote:Oh, and dude, why are you so desperate to watch K-On? haha Plus, Coalguys' troll subs for ep1 are the most hilarious I've ever seen. A++ Would download again.

Oh, and I'm guessing it's the fault of my inner KyoAni fanboy.
K-ON! 01: I had no idea that this was going to take place at QUALITY High.
Spoiler
Is it just me or is Mio's left iris outside of her eye's frame?

Spoiler
I know part of it is because of the SD, and stuff, but there are a lot of problems with the quality of distance shots, and movement. I mean, I saw one scene, after the third screen shot there where Ritsu gets up to stop Yui from leaving. She's sitting down in one frame. She's completely up in the next with her hand out. There's no transition in between the motions, just one and then the other.
Spoiler
Proportions are just wrong some times, because of clothing billowing or whatever. It's just WRONG.
The story so far is good though, and I really liked the OP and ED. Though the syncing for the ED was... poor to say the least. Anyways. Will continue to watch, HNNNNGGG, DAWWWW, and BAWWWW. Also, <3 Mio.
K-ON! 01: Decent. Like the premise. Animation reminds me of Manabi Straight somehow.
@JoeTang: Yeah. It looks that way to me too. I think it might be off even in the scene right before it zooms in on their faces, but its way too hard to discern with SD.
I don't see the fast transition from sitting down to standing up. If you're talking about the screenshot, Ritsu sits up at 16:19 and stays like that until the cut when she's sits across from Mio.
There's some pretty obscure seiyuu for the lead characters too.

Next frame is roughly this:

There's no transition between the first frame and second, she's just one and then the other. It actually, physically, hurt my eyes the first time I saw it.
It's still an enjoyable show but I expected a lot less QUALITY from KyoAni.
Rideback 12: Awesome. Some of it didn't make much sense to me but somewhere along the way, I didn't care about the plot anymore. Just watching Rin in action was enough.
Goblin was great too, but white hair guy is still horrible and the weird lady is still weird.
Maria+ Holic: Shizu! That alone made this episode great, but really, the whole thing was terrific.
Asu no Yoichi 12: Often awkward in storyline advancement (Torigaya, what?), but it's decent enough and a satisfying conclusion to this series, which has just enough nice moments to be worth watching.
Asura Cryin' 01: What the fuck happened in this episode. Its mecha apparently, so I'll probably watch a few more episodes. So much stuff is just thrown at you all at once. Lead guy seems to either be dumber than a brick or just used to this shit by now.
If you hear glass break / explode / melt and see a perfectly cut out circle in your window in the middle of the night, I'd think you'd have a pretty exaggerated reaction, not "Oh wat is dis" If like 15 people armed with guns hold you hostage in your own house, I don't think you'd crack jokes.

K-ON! 01
That opening part had some shiiiiitty art and animation, and there were some pretty badly drawn scenes (nothing close to Munto though), not what I'd expected from KyoAni.
But screw that, K-ON! definitely shines as a true KyoAni production (unlike Munto and that stupid conclusion of CLANNAD ~After Story~), one that deserves a place next to Lucky Star and TMoHS.
Hayate no Gotoku!! 01
Better art than the OVA by far, but also worse art than Season One by far.
What the hell is this crap?
Spoiler
There are so many flaws in that picture, I don't know where to begin.
Oh, and did I mention that the background characters don't move in this scene, or the scene after this one that shows them in the same exact positions? BAH
Slap Up Party -Arad Senki- 01
HELL YES.
Now this is what I'm talking about. One freaking awesome anime.
Screenshots like this should be framed:
Spoiler
Spring 2009 so far:
K-ON! is an epic anime. Slap Up Party is an awesome anime. Hayate S2 fails to deliver the same amount of lulz as S1, but is still great.
I can only hope that this trend in awesome continues.
Eh, Bones, so not much to complain about in terms of visual choices. High production quality, as expected. Broadcasting in HD is nice too. OP and ED are decent, don't really like the songs all too much though.
Just to be sure.
Huh, so I guess they're not starting out like the manga? New Ice Alchemist introduced, though he was killed already. I bet they didn't want to rehash the same story again for the people who have seen the first ... version? IIRC, Rose is more or less only mentioned once in the manga, unlike the anime adaptation.
Face that appears twice - Hoenheim / Father?
I'd be willing to bet that Lust was on the phone with Bradley.
Wat is this being called anyways. Season two? Version two? just Full Metal Alchemist?

I thought it was obvious the guy in the OP was Hoenheim. Granted you only see him a few times in the first series, but that was definitely him.
I'm not a big manga reader so I can't really compare, but I thought this first episode was way more epic than the first episode of the previous series. I hope it stays that way. The fight scenes made Al look really badass, whereas in the other series he didn't really do all that much.

Also I'd agree that she was talking to Bradley.

I didn't mean the OP. There are two scenes when this face shows up.(Ignore the fail copypasta MS paint job - i hate not being able to grab frames with CoreAVC)
Spoiler
This one is at 20:25, the other is earlier. The figure opens his eyes and then closes them.
The first ep of the original series followed the manga to the letter more or less. The intro is supposed to be them going to the desert town and fighting the priest / introducing characters etc. Does the same thing, but I agree that its more interesting.
wow...it's been awhile since i've done anything FMA. i wanna watch/read it again before i get into this brotherhood. although, i'm too much on One Piece, Bleach(one more filler before Fake Karakura Town), and Shippuuden(which is so stupid now with so many filler arcs right now.) i just finished Soul Eater(i want more, but i'm pretty sure that it already ended the manga) and idk if i even have the time to watch more anime than 3 right now.
