[New World Record] Bera GMS Zakum speed run 1:48.70

MoxJr Wrote:Refer to what Phoenix said. I guess you don't have much experience with warriors if you really think these lvl 17x+ warriors miss on Zakum and need accuracy pots.

Most people moved up. The ones who didn't and stayed at the bottom were obviously lagging, not because of the weakness curse. All cures were brought to the run by everyone; I can assure this.

If attackers were already on the top row, then yes using the teleports would be faster, which is what they did. If a NL is on one of the middle platforms, then FJ-ing across the body to the left side would be faster than jumping up to the top and then trying to use the teleport.

This is called lag. If he was no-delay hacking, why would he stand at the middle ledge where Zakum's body isn't even within reach?

Yes, because people join a speed run to AFK.

Better luck next time? There are always improvements to these kinds of things, but you speak as though we failed to accomplish something.

Thank you. All of this should have been very obvious, but I guess there are always those people who don't see it.

Anyway grats on an amazing run. I'm surprized how the first World Record by MSEA was only NLs, BMs, and MMs. Then it was NLs, BMs, and one Hero. Now it's NLs, BMs, Heros, and DKs. Weird how the more warriors there are the faster it goes. Coincidense? Even if it's not, I know once the damage cap is raised warriors will be doing a lot better than they are now. I saw quite a few 99999's pop up, meaning they'd be doing even more damage if it weren't there.

I also can't wait to see Corsairs on the run.

Those warriors on the run could very well easily outdamage some night lords. Also keep in mind that warriors can take down those top left right arms the fastest considering they hit three at once. Never rule out the true ability of a warrior.

And some people lag, some people don't. I would assume it's impossible to make a run without any laggers like that.

Hell, my computer lagged while watching the video, lol. I can't Zakum with more than two parties attacking. I don't blame them for lagging.

I second this claim. Character doesn't "respond" when sealed. Whenever i see "MISS" i just use an all-cure regardless if it's me or not.

There are many things based on luck when doing a speed run. The shield wdef buff on arms, the number of times seal and darkness occurs, and the most important one, the big wdef on the bodies. None of these things are controllable.

However there is one factor that IS controllable. That is the amount of training, lvl, and gear of your character. The stronger you are the faster the arms will be taken down, therefore the less time and opportunity zak has to cast seal/darkness/weaken/etc. Sadly i don't see many 19x-200 players in these speed runs. Gear is important, but so are the lvls. Putting gear aside, a 170 nl vs. a 200 nl is already playing at a 165 luk disadvantage (adjusted with mw). 165 luk undeniably adds a nice boost to damage (also more avoid).

I saw the some warrior hitting 99,999 crits already. But what about the non-crit hits? And what about the minimum damage hits? Just cuz you hit max damage with NARCAIN doesn't mean the damage cap needs to get raised. Can you hit max damage with apple? What percentage of your hits actually achieve max damage? What about non-crit hits? As a warrior, crits aren't as common as for a nl or bm/mm...you can't control when you hit a crit, but you can control the damage that you most consistently hit.

My only critique is everyone needs to train more! The fastest run is still to come.

IMO, warriors will outdamage NLs during arms easily due to being able to hit multiple targets as said above. Stance also is a very useful skill, as by the time you re-adust yourself, the warriors would've gotten a few extra hits in. This IMO is why you need warriors for speed runs.

Curses are pretty hard to detect if you have been to Zakum. As said, there're a few seconds between being cursed and seeing it. You can tell somewhat with lock, as your character does not attack, but otherwise, you cant tell much. By the time you see the misses, you've already attacked twice or thrice already.

Finally, I concur with the luck factor involved in a zrun. There're runs where zakum would go berserk, whereas other times, he would just sit there sipping tea. A def up will ruin a speedrun also.

I just waste an all-cure whenever I see the arm doing Darkness (it's a swamp green color, for those who don't observe). Of course, that's pretty much impossible when you're on the right side, but any pro-ass Warrior (with possible exception to the Hero *cough*) will just attack the left side anyways.

And if you really, really l4g, the message and effect will pop up several seconds later xD

I have a hypothesis that if Zakum is just sipping tea, then there's a considerable amount of combined l4g from the users. This is based on probability though, in no way is this absolute.

All records as of today shows us that faster(2) is the fastest possible speed in-game as of right now.

Though I know I'm sealed before the symbol appears, potting all-cures before the symbol appears doesn't seem to allow me to attack any faster o_O I'm just going by experience at Guardians/HT here, but it may all be in my head. I'll try this out later today while training.

works fine at guardians for me.... remember that you can get sealed by more than one guardian at a time, so keep it in mind when checking.

Well to speed up time, you could have 5 parties of 6 HP washed NLs. And while at the map before the alter, you could get a Buccaneer to use SI on everyone, a bowman to use SE, a dragon knight to use HB, well with the HB you probably wouldn't have to be washed. But then go in with EoH, Demon Elixir's, all cures, and power elixirs, or some sort of high percentage healing potion, you could easily get a lot quicker time.

And like what was said before, it might be hard to get a perfect run, but if people try not to make so many mistakes or goof around then a time of 1:30- could be obtained.

Lol? Do you really think you have to be HP washed at that level to survive Zakum? Also, SI does not work on NLs. People that level don't need HB to survive Zakum. Finally, stop assuming that NLs are the strongest bossers. Some of the heroes and DrKs in this run probably did more damage than a lot of the NLs. Please don't post this kind of stuff if you don't know what you are talking about.

Anyways, bravo. Any criticism you guys get doesn't matter; you still beat the record, and I don't see any of these critics making these kinds of runs themselves. n_n

I know that dispell works when I'm sealed before the animation shows.

I can confirm this.

If you've ever trained at CWG, you'd know that using an all cure before the animation shows up frees your character.
