What made you want to become a Pirate?

Simple question. What made you want to become a Pirate?

For me, when I first heard there was a new class, I decided to check it out on YouTube. I saw some low leveled Gunslinger using a gun. Didn't seem all too appealing to me. Especially since at this time my overall image of pirates were the stereotypical doofus' showed in cartoons, and I probably didn't see Pirates of the Carribean yet.

Eventually I learned of Infighters and how they worked. I was surprized they used their fists, as I remember in the old days of MS I said how fighters should use their fists and not swords as a small joke. Eventually after watching some YouTube vids I grew to like Infighters more and more, including Gunslingers too. Since I wasn't playing Maple Story at all at the time, I told myself if I ever started playing MS seriously again, I'd make a Pirate. The fact that some people were arguing that Pirates sucked made me like them even more, since I was getting more of a "unique" feel from it.

Alas I did, even though I chose to wait a few months after the release to avoid drastically overpriced items and crowded maps from the obvious to-be fad.

I saw that awesome Float (Wings) video with that awesome (Korean?) music that prompted me to make a Gunslinger.

I wanted to quit my lolshad and make a new character (Ranged). Then saw all the hints Pirates were coming soon, so made a Gunslinger.

Well, after quitting Global Maple and then roaming around lolp.servers for 6 months, I finally decided to return to Japanese Maple in mid-June in '08. It turned out that I rejoined JMS at the perfect time, as Nexon JP was getting ready to release Pirates one month later. So, I moved to Keyaki, where the English community was, and made a cleric to build up at least some potion funds. Then, on July 30th, Nexon JP released Pirates and I made one. Now here I am, a level 137 Viper in Keyaki, JMS.

I wanted to do I what I cause a pirate is free, I am a pirate.

Every character I've played up until now has been ranged. I felt like a change. I loved how I trained in my 9x with my ranger: at gobis, where you had to use all of your skills (or at least most of them) to train the most efficiently and had to keep on your toes while training. Then I got to 4th and it's just spamming hurricane at newties... and I died a little on the inside.

ALSO, PIRATES CAN GO SUPER SAIYAN AND HAVE SUPER PIRATEY EQUIPS AND GET TO SAY ARRRRRRRRR!

Yeah. Mostly the latter though.

i got bored of shooting metal stars out of my ass

err needed something that had higher HP than bowmasters at the smae level. 136 levels of LOLHP takes a toll on a guy. And i liked the dragon =P

I also wanted something to get me back into MS after quitting my BM at level 123. I was overjoyed to find a ranged class that actually required some skill to play.

i got hacked.

hit a lvling drag with my ranger, where 10% an hour was horrific for me. So i decided to make a new char, and a new class just screamed play me @-a. And i found it fun coming up with a practical equips guide.

Infighters reminded me a bit of my old Champion from back when i played RO... ahhh the good ol times :3

I saw one of Shrapnel's videos, and being the adventurous person that I am, I decided that I would try and make a Gunslinger.

I made a pirate because it was new I guess - and I felt like moving from my Hero.

And Corsairs seemed to be a nice replacement for Hermits
