GM Scrolls

ndynslvr Wrote:You know what could be next? The Nexon America Scroll (ADDS 10 ATTACK and 20 primary stat and 5 secondary stat to any weapon for at a 50% rate for the price only 10K Nexon Cash). Seriously pretty much all of the type of scrolls can be obtained using either gach or nx required events. If you people learned anything or have detected any pattern, Nexon releases scrolls which are more powerful and favors the NX hoarding population since they bring in the most money.

also make it so when the scroll fails, it destroys your item 100%, if it works, give another slot. that would make nx whores happy/sad

By this logic every single thing in this game "caters to NX users" (essentially the same logic as threads that state this game cannot be played without NX), which can be countered with the classic and true "you don't have to buy NX, you want to buy NX".

2x drop making GM scrolls cater to NX users is horrible. Again by that logic the whole game caters to NX users. It's not the game that caters to NX users, it's the NX that caters to the players. If anything having GM scrolls available just caters to classes that kill extremely fast (*coughcough*bishops/and fire mages)

I was actually very clear that Nexon caters to all levels of users, because anyone is a potential revenue source, they just give stuff to NX users sooner, because the haves are more likely to glurge than the have-nots.

Also, ILs can wipe the floor with nightshadows fairly easily and low cost. Ice Demon negates ice immunity so they're a very easy low cost kill. Spamming ultumates on that map is a waste when you can only hit 1/2 at best and can just as easily kill the entire map by circling it with ID and ifrit, especially since you have to circle the map to pick up drops any way.

I'm not getting the vocab, but i barely understand what you said through context. ;-;

Probably not as easily as gene/meteo could. Cost effective, sure. Just stand on the ends of the arms and i believe you hit half the map that way. Tele to the other arm, wipe whole map, walk around and pick up badges if necessary, rinse and repeat.

I still don't have 100% understanding of how the hell the demons work. Explain? I'm really starting to get annoyed at how whenever we get into a discussion on class killing you always point out the demons and i don't fully get resistances and whatnot. Frown Kiss

Ice demon takes away resistances and makes them fire-weak. Hitting them can be an issue due to some weird frames occasionally (I've had some strange issues with rush where I plow through them without them moving, despite being hit by rush)

They take away EVERY immunity and resistance?

Yes for non-boss monsters.

For all nonbosses, they make it neutral to all immunities and resistances, and allow status condition to be inflicted. Then they make it weak to the opposite elemental attribute.

For example: Ice demon used on a poison immune, lightning resistant, and fire resistant monster. The first thing it does is make it neutral to all. Then it makes it fire weak (opposite elements). In addition, the poison immunity will be removed and the monster can be poisoned.

They also take away all weaknesses.

People not completely understanding the Ice/Fire Demon's side effects is why they're so readily discounted as useless. If you think of them straight up as an attack they seem silly when you have all your other attacks, but their real power is in the way they default an effected mob to a clean attribute template, making them entirely neutral and then applying a suceptible-to. That's a double whammy.

A practical example: first hit of ID on a NightShadow will do 1 damage, because it's ice immune at that point, then turn it blue. Once it goes blue and until that blue wears off, it's experiencing a poison-like side effect and has no elemental attributes except weak to fire, so 2nd ID hitting it does full neutral damage because it's no longer got any immunities.

Since it has an incredibly fast cast speed and does it's damage in equal proportions to all six mobs it hits, it's actually better than chain lightning for many mobbing scenarios.

Yet people still choose to max Chain Lightning first and Ice Demon is completely ignored.

Ice demon is actually extremely weak as a 4th job skill. Fire demon probably might not even make the cut. Chain lightning at least can be used for bosses.

I beg to differ with your opinion; My ID and my CL only have about a 3k difference average in their damages and ID does the same damage to all six mobs it's hits, unlike CL's progressive halving.

Each has it's own distinct value and situations where one will outshine the other.

Straight line attack vs a "follow the target" attack make CL better for ranged attacks against a single moving target like bosses (pap, zak arms, cwkpq) and it's ability to extend it's own range by arcing makes it's a little more useful against swarms that fly (opachu for example) or at least at drawing their attention. ID won't work on Opachu and similar because they're boss flagged :/

O_o I didn't say anything about chain lightning being better than ice demon, just that it's useful for bossing.

You specifically said ID was weak for a 4th job skill.
I disagreed and explained why I disagreed.
