[Notice/GM Blog]We are Family!
#1
New GM Blog.
Move this to the right place please. ^^

"Check this out!" yelped my coworker. I knew that today I was to be given instructions on a new quest line, but, sadly, no one had told me when. So it was a bit of a surprise to have a stack of papers fly at my face, but at least I didn't have to wait anymore.

Well knowing me, I hastily skimmed through the pages just to get to the good part.

I had the fortune of being one of the first to test out the new Family System. I was to create a family, but it was my discovery that I wasn't able to do this alone, for obvious reasons. I mean, a family can't really consist of one person, can it? So of course that meant I had to wrangle up a few of the new guys in my department - they'll do anything. Shortly after, we had the makings of a family - well almost.

I now had "juniors" that I had to support. Captain Al had told me that I had to look out for them. In other words, I had to pull them up by their bootstraps, show 'em the ropes, and be a responsible leader. The whole time I was thinking, "What's in this for me?! Why would I ever want to help out a newb?!"

Suddenly, a flood of memories came rushing through my head about my early Maple career. It's funny, the things my Shadower can afford now makes all the time I spent scrounging for mesos on my Rogue seem downright sad. Heck, I could barely afford to recharge my throwing stars! That's when I knew how much the Family System made sense. If only I had a good leader to help me out every now and then, life would have been so much easier!

After a few days of looking out for my new juniors, I found it incredibly interesting just how much I wanted to see them succeed. It brings a heart-warming tear to your eye, don't it?

So what's next? We grow, as any good family should!

Signing off,
GM Crash

This kind of sounds really dumb from what I'm seeing.

I already hate those kids who are so attention starved that they seek 'family' on maple story. I was in a guild where they actually called each other Mom and Dad and it made me feel really gross Sad

I'm someone's "Grandpa". It is pretty weird.

I guess this system is only made of win if your guildies and friends or w/e frequently make new characters.

I guess people already know EXACTLY what this entails from KMS? Anyone care to share in detail?

Basically, get a bunch of kids (sons/daughters) and force them to train so that YOU benefit. They get nothing out of it from what I hear. If you're feeling generous you might share with them some of your benefits, but it's far from required.

300 = Write the name of the person you want to go see, it will not work if you're in the FM. It will brings you to this person with no regard to the continent.
500 = Write the name of the person you want to warp to your map, it will not work if you're in the FM. It will brings this person to you with no regard to the continent.
700 = It gives 1.5x drop for only you for 15min.
800 = It gives 1.5x exp for only you for 15min.
1000 = Make a party with you + 5 members of your direct family, needs to be son or grandson. if you don't see them in your family tree, it wont work. so if you have a party of you + 5 members of your direct family, you can get 2x exp and 2x drop for 30min for only 1000 points! but its hard to get 6 members at the same time, that's why it's only 1000!
1200 = It gives 2x drop for only you for 15min.
1500 = It gives 2x exp for only you for 15min.
2000 = It gives 2x drop for only you for 30min.
2500 = It gives 2x exp for only you for 30min.
4000 = It gives 2x drop for your party for 30min.
5000 = It gives 2x exp for your party for 30min.

and no, kMS doesn't have 2x cards in the cash shop. the family bonus does not work with 2x exp events though, so I imagine it probably won't stack with exp cards on global either.

that sucks, I want gameplay, I want content, I want quest.
This is infantile, puerile and will only leads to more drama in the community.

THE HELL IS THIS?

The only way this update could possibly turn from absolutely PINEAPPLING STUPID and unnecessary to completely full of win is if the bring the KMST updates with that stupid UI pomegranate.

If you can't tell, i 100% hate this feature and is the last thing i would want to bring here. PINEAPPLE.

Yeah, sounds dumb.

But they said 'new creatures' which leads me to believe they'll be adding a new area, too.

I can't wait for warping powers Big Grin
We will finally have a weapon against boss-hogging hackers! Further, we can warp em to town and then use a transforming potion and they'll be unable to do anything for an hour (assuming they are godmoded, meaning they wont take damage to get out of it. Also assumes they are botting and wont notice)
