GM Scrolls
#1
It seems to me that, in the interest of fairness (lol, Nexon being fair), Nexon should logically release, even in small numbers, GM scrolls for most if not all weapons soon. Accident or otherwise, 1h sword users currently have a major advantage by combining lunchboxes with GM scrolls, or even with RKs or Carabellas. This creates an imbalance of godly weapons for 1h sword users, which can be considered a major advantage over other classes. Thoughts/opinions? Speculation on what Nexon may do?

GM scrolls for every weapon is a tad bit ridiculous. Not like warriors didn't need the attack boost. They were close to high/mid tier damage on average, so the boost was probably nice.

Unless you're just suggesting they give out PA GM scrolls? Rolleyes

I think people can point out flaws in your paragraph all day.

GM scrolls only for claws would be pretty broken. It'd further separate the gap between NLs and Bowmen.

The only way to have balance is to leave it as is, or to release ALL the GM scrolls at the same time, with varying quantities for each respective class to fit the population size of each class. (for example, since there are more mages in the community, make staff + wand scrolls easier to obtain. If I remember correctly, pirates are lowest population size so make them hardest to obtain.)

Furthermore, I say release staff GM scrolls more than wand ones to at least minimize the gap between luk and lukless within mages.

Or just don't release wand scrolls at all.

The pirate thing is ridiculously unfair. Yeah, make us weaker because we're newer. Smart.

Well, you do have the lowest population size. My goal was to try making the prices balanced, and that can only be achieved when the demand to supply ratio is the same for all scrolls. That means even though you may have a lower supply, you'd still have the same chance as everyone else at obtaining it.

I think have any type of GM scroll is a dumb idea.

I say just give the scrolls to the underdog classes if we have to give them to someone. Shadowers, PA DrKs, luck mages (staves), and buccaneers. Every other class has high enough raw damage.

If you lower the supply, the population would decrease since people can't obtain scrolls. Following your method, you would have to lower the supply even more because demand dropped from lack of interest.

This

I can understand not releasing them for claws, simply because the Night Raven Claw would be ridiculously overpowered with GM scrolling on a dexless NL. Combo'd with a chaos'd PAC and a MoN, and possibly chaos'd FS *cough a certain well-known NL in Bello* we'd be seeing unstoppable NLs.

And Polearms, BWs, and Axes are nowhere NEAR top tier DPS. Axes not as much, but they still suffer a bit from stabs. PA and BW are pretty well screwed by 4th job skills/weapon differences. Shads could use a damage boost as well, and it'd be nice to see bowmen with GM scrolls. Mages would have a little less to gain from them due to MATTK being less useful than ATTK, but the extra INT would be nice.

Wand scrolls would have to have a slightly boosted availability to compensate for HP washers wasting them, but I understand why Staff should be more available too. No idea how that would play out.

And hard to say if Sairs/Buccs would need them, they have fairly high DPS as is. Their single target damage would still be pretty much a 1-2 hit kill on most enemies, so only bossing would be affected greatly.

Sword heros were the only real top tier warrior class for damage, and they got the scrolls...we'll probably see NLs get em next, knowing how Nexon works.

There aren't any Gun or Knuckle GM scrolls in the data, and the GM scrolls in the data haven't changed in... countless patches.

Swords already are said to have an advantage over bws and axes. So why release for swords... Why give lunchboxes? I think someone if you ARE going to do for swords should be done for the other weapons to fix the extreme unbalance.

Wand scrolls even remotely released at all = complete 100% death of the luck AM. Bad bad bad bad bad.

It was affect bossing more, but corsairs don't need them. Highest raw DPS in the game + GM scrolls = ridiculous. The only thing GM scrolls would significantly improve for a buccaneer is training (since their 1 hit skills 1hko a lot), which would help their population as well as make SI much more available.

People can obtain them. It's not like you're handing them out to individual players. Rather, everyone obtains them, and if it doesn't pertain to your class, you sell it. That would make it rather easy for Pirates to obtain them if all of the supply were equalized.

Also, if what you say were true, then wouldn't we have an overpopulated Hero/Paladin classes by now, because of 100% supply to the 1H sword GM scrolls and 0% supply of the other ones?

Anyways, I find it funny how people are talking about only weapon GM scrolls. Don't forget that there are GM scrolls for equipment as well. My personal favorite is Earring INT.

True, but it would also help lower the cost of wands/staves, as INT scrolled gear would be at a new standard (wooden wand, etc), and thus 60s and 70s, even 30s would become cheaper. This = good for mages, as their scrolls are relatively expensive due to mass HP washing.

At above, we are only talking about weapons because we are discussing possible balancing to make up for 1h Sword GM scrolls. We didn't see a massive rise in Hero population because there are already a ****ton, and in pallys because they benefit less from 1h sword GM scrolls. New characters would also be unable to obtain lunchboxes, which were the primary motivation for hunting GM scrolls.

I think it's only the equipment for int scrolls (earring, overall, cape, helm, etc) that are extremely expensive. Having wand scrolls for int wouldn't change it's prices.

Nonetheless, they can still use Red Katanas or Carabellas.

Anyways, if you want more balance, release secondary scrolls (on equipment) for stronger classes, and primary scrolls (on weapons) for weaker classes.

For example, release ALL of the AXE and BW Gm scrolls.
Release Earring LUK for NLs
Release Shield ATK for Dits and 1h Warriors and for Dits
Release Overall STR for the Bowmen classes
Release Earring INT or Shield Magic for Mages

On that note then, GM scrolls for everything but Claws, Guns, and Wands? (weapons, we aren't discussing armor because we are only speculating on balancing against 1h sword).

Above is a good suggestion, but noty to the wattk shield ones. We already have 1h sword GM, throwing Shield scrolls into the mix would only widen the gap between 1h users and DrKs.

What I REALLY want to see are 1h PAs/Spears, but that ain't happening.
