Ji's Open Canvas Thread
#61
ah! thanks for all the comments!

harrisonized - heh thank you, glad you liked it! i suspect it would take up too much space as an emote, but it's here if anyone wants it badly enough!

loose - yeah, drew it (: - got tired more than anything heh, you can tell i didn't throw too much effort into the stalk.

dyxanije - thankyou (:

[eep.]
ninja'd.

salguod - without the leaf? just the peach by itself? hmmm, i drew it with the leaf in mind, so it's more untidy underneath the leaf.

JiJi, that's pretty darn pro. If you would like to, I'd like to see you do some non-digital stuff and post it =D

Gee, "tries to use" or "succeeds in using"?

If you're in the process of coloring the wall black, can I suggest keeping it white? Or color a corner to stress off a hint of light direction?

LIAR! You did not draw that. That is a computer generated peach. You stole it from the internet. LIAR! D:

(: ty heh

mmmm... was wondering about that actually

in the original the background is divided unevenly into 3 horizontal bands: pale pink, crimson and pale pink wood (the floor). i started shading the wall mostly just for contrast so i could keep the realism of her arm (ie no "line")

i probably will keep it just white.

challenge: use only a 34-pixel brush to adapt this stock photo. using it as a model not a part of the picture.
(yay generic gradient backgrounds)

rdal - i am glad you like it!

alloy - heh, was based on a photo. thanks (: it is actually not that detailed, i could have used a finer pencil for more, but i just went with a big heavy one for convenience.

Nah, I'm saying shrink it to the size of the emotes and we'll have a very good looking one. Biggrin

If I have motivation (as in I won't just doodle for lulz), I can "try" to sketch and the picture would turn out more or less ♥Ji's quality.

I swear to jebus I'm not a sketch artist either.

Anywho, keep up the great work ♥Ji =P It's much better than many sketches I've seen done by other non-professionals.

thanks dyxanije - amazing photo to sketch from!

kajiti - completely agree, the sketching i do is nothing more than copying from a really pretty reality Smile this is why the reference matters so much, and why i really appreciate work such as throws makes, which is innovative and spontaneous without needing a reference. i have posted some sketches that have been completely constructed by me but they are tedious and laboured and not very realistic anyway.

it is a lot easier than it appears, the business of using a pencil harder or softer to merely transfer a photo on to paper. it's the same with digital sketching!

kajiti now i am curious and waiting for art from your corner! Big Grin

I can't do imitation easily, I tend to do more of a unique but odd/mentally disturbed form of drawing (see "drawings of your character" and look at my most recent one, which was my avatar for a long time)

Movin to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches
I'm movin to the country I'm gonna eat me a lot of peaches
I'm movin to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches
Movin to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches

Peaches come from a can they were put there by a man
In a factory downtown
If I had my little way I'd eat peaches everyday
Sun soakin bulges in the shade

Movin to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches
Movin to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches
I'm movin to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches
Movin to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches

I took a little nap where the roots all twist
Squished a rotten peach in my fist
And dreamed about you woman
I poked my finger down inside makin a little room for a ant to hide
Natures candy in my hand or can or a pie

Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches peaches for free
Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches peaches for free

Look out

Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches peaches for free
Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches peaches for free

Look out

Excellent
