AX 09 - Anime Expo 2009.

So, anyone goin this year? I plan on going for my first time this year, seems pretty interesting.

Uhm, anyone been to past ones, and can share a lil info on them?

COSPLAY (friend told me about it)

I am going with my three friends.
Sadly, I will not be cosplaying as a loli as I had once planned.

first convention or just the first time at AX?

if it's your first convention, some basic tips you might want:

• bring enough money; you're gonna want to buy everything.
  
• bring a backpack or shoulder bag so you don't have to carry everything you buy.
  
• bring your own food & drink. plenty of water. food prices at conventions are RIDICULOUS.
  
• always be early. the lines will be huge and the people will be annoying. count on it.
  
• TAKE SHOWERS. lots of showers! conventions are smelly enough as it is; don't contribute to it!
  
• if you'll be staying in a hotel and you can drive, try to find a hotel near the convention. lodging at the convention site can often guarantee a bad night's sleep. make sure to get to the convention site early each morning or you might not be able to find parking..
  

I went last year, plan on going again this year. Didn't get to do much last year though, only spent a few hours there.

I wish I could go. Thats about as far as I will get to do.

I'd go but its in USA and I don't wanna see crappy cosplays.

The cosplays are actually quite cool. Some people go all out, then others go as Wii Sticks and A.W.S.E.M - O's or w/e.

I plan on going as Hiei, if I find someone to go with lol.

I was saying in IRC, the friend I went with last year wants to dress up this year. I'd feel stupid going with someone who's cosplaying while I'm in normal clothes... But I don't want everyone and their brother trying to take my picture either... So how to do this?

My conclusion: Dress as a character no one knows!

What's an awesome character that no one knows? And then...

Or you could cosplay as a character who, you know, wears normal clothes. But I really do like the Rellik idea.

Anyways..

I decided to not go as Hiei, instead I'm going as Sagara Sanosuke from Rurouni Kenshin.. It's already done got the whole outfit and I'm cutting and styling my hair to the point where it will look perfect ^^d

Other than that, I have a big group I'm going with, maybe I'll see some of you guys there?
