The Issue on Leech
#81
Kasuhitomi Wrote:The last part is not an opinion, don't deny it. A lot of people would 'love' to sit on their lazy ass, watch TV or some movie, while some other person leeches their ass off (especially for free). I'm quite positive a lot of people are annoyed, irked, or jealous by it, whether they choose to admit or not. It's human to be jealous of someone or something that is getting things easier than what you managed to do previously.

Ignore me Frown

I misunderstood what you said and thought that you meant everybody gets jealous when you just meant that some do. Sorry Sad

Harrisonized Wrote:It's called projection. Your own failures are projected upon others. Instead of admitting that you're simply leveling slower and incompetent, you're trying to say that other people shouldn't be leveling as quickly and are only able to because of leeching.

You called him incompetent. I lol'ed. Seriously.

Leeching is lazy. Laziness to the point where other people do your work shouldn't ever be tolerated.

Incompetent in terms of gaining exp, meaning he's gaining exp slower than other people.

Ah.
So a person who has someone else push his wheelchair can be perceived as lazy when he can just get crutches and walk?
Shippo the Fox Wrote:Laziness to the point where other people do your work shouldn't ever be tolerated.
If I bring a car into the auto-repair shop, I'm lazy since I other people are doing my work for me eh?

It's sad when people use the term incompetent to refer to people that gain EXP slower than others in a GAME. Am I incompetent for levelling slowly?

We probably have a different usage of competence. Competence means "compete", and if you're unable to compete, then you're "incompetent". O_o

That being said, if you're satisfied with your exp, you feel that you are leveling at the appropriate rate, you are competent. When people are so dissatisfied that they feel a need to rant about other people gaining faster exp, that is incompetence.

It would appear that people are arguing against a word that I used and pulling it way out of context. Why don't you include the quotes I replied to when you try to attack me based on it.

Is incompetent synonymous with "playing any class other than a mage" now?

Cause I've asked around, and my exp rates were no worse than any other White Knights my level who trained, and yet leeching remains 4-6x faster. In comparison to legitimate WKs I'm fine, it's just the leechers who have an advantage.

The issue is self perception. If you feel that you are gaining the EXP that you should, then you are competent. You are fulfilling your personal quota.

Stop.

You didn't need to tack on incompetent. Saying he trained slow was enough. That is like throwing salt into the wounds and calling him stupid.

You examples are bad. Person in the wheelchair is obviously disabled in some manner or form, unless he is a perfectly able to walk and decides he wants someone else to push him around for the hell of it. Leechers CAN train themselves. It insanely easy. Only time consuming. They are not disabled in any shape or form.

The people at the auto shop are trained to fix the car. You go to them because they know how to fix it and YOU don't.

Here is the context in which I replied to
Bolded just shows that he perceives himself to be incompetent. Why should I not view him the same way he views himself?

If you want to make it precise as possible, let's say someone fell and twisted his ankle, and is able to walk perfectly with the use of a crutch.

However, he decides to be lazy and has someone else push him around.
Shippo the Fox Wrote:Leechers CAN train themselves. It insanely easy. Only time consuming.
And the guy who fell can walk by himself as well, only it's more energy consuming.
Shippo the Fox Wrote:They are not disabled in any shape or form.
Then why should nonleechers act as though if they are not leeching they are somehow denied access to a good exp rate?
Shippo the Fox Wrote:The people at the auto shop are trained to fix the car. You go to them because they know how to fix it and YOU don't.
Ok, maybe that was a bad example. Let's say you go to a restaurant to eat a hamburger. Are you lazy for not wanting to make the hamburger yourself?

They may be able to make a hamburger better than you, you may be far from home, or you don't know how to cook.

I think what most people seem to be missing is this is a game. If you get bored playing it, then don't play it >_>

Precisely my point. The person who is selling leech is able to get you exp faster than you would be yourself, the person who is leeching may be going afk, or maybe they just don't know how train [properly]. <~ Perhaps I should has picked a food that was easy to make but w/e.

And if someone is bored with living, they should go suicide. I'm now questioning the ethics of your statement.

And the prize for the worst ever analogy goes to...

How on earth can you compare the 2?

Me thinks this thread is in need of a lock now Biggrin

Really, it's a given that people disagree on this issue. Making threads about it is pointless. Somebody pointed out that the original poster should have just done a thread to the many other threads like this we've had in the past.
This is like the MS version of "Does god exist". People will never agree!

I fully endorse leechers commiting suicide. Solves both problems at once (their being bored of MS, and their interfering with legit players)

This is just getting silly.
