For melee classes, it's best to just "stand" on him and take some 1.8ks while avoiding the magic attacks. One thing I noticed was that it had terrible accuracy, and it often missed my CB about 2/3rds of the time or more. It's a good boss to make money off of because the etc. goes for 100k and you can always NPC the drops (seems like the etc item and equips drop at a VERY high rate, or 100%) as well as all those pots it drops. I was also able to get a 60% Cape LUK from it.

You don't have to get 300 Red Essences to refight Capt Lat. The "Return of Capt Latanica" quest (rewards 1 White Essence) requires killing 100 Slimy, 100 Jr. Selkie and 100 Mr. Anchor. It's an insanely easy quest.

You're thinking of the quest "The Lost White Essence." You can't do that quest once you defeat Capt Lat, and it'd be dumb to keep doing that one over for a White Essence, anyway.

My friend brought me for assistance today, was pissing me off when I had to start the killing quests..
Lukily my friend spammed heal and I just had to press 1 button, so it flew by fairly quickly.

Only got to fight once though, first time I came in and didn't know what to do so I clicked the NPC and got kicked out =S

Got pots, black essense and a lantern something. Solo'ed in 3 mins (summoned on my friends and they died =X)

It's used for a quest we do not have yet. It only requires one Soul Lantern, so it's quite easy to get one back if and when the quest ever comes out. Feel free to NPC them for now.

I have a friend that has a spearman mule with low level HB (it's like 3-6, can't remember). What level are you again? If you're 110+ I could lend you a Naricain pendant to wear, too. I dunno, just trying to think of things.

If we could get you enough HP to survive like one attack, I could easily down Lattie for you real quick to make it safer (only takes me 30-40 seconds).

F4 at not having a 2nd computer to HB mule. I wouldn't even have to take it in, 200 seconds is probably enough to kill it if I summon fast >_> I can down HH in 6 minutes and Latanica has half the HP.

edit: oops, forgot how long HB lasts. 155s might be pushing it.

Hell, all I need is a Naricain pendant and I break 3.7k HP. Any ranged class high enough level to have anywhere near that much HP without washing can down it in 1-2 minutes on their own.

lv 108, so not even the pendant possibility for now :p

My hp, with the standard equips I use is around slightly more than 3k. I once scrolled some SEXY PANTS with 123 hp, so those can be handy.

Or I can simply relax for now and eventually get it done. It's just the white essence thing what annoys me in my inventory.

with enough lanterns, you can buy things with the lanterns and bypass taxes!kek

How do you get another white esscence when you are done with the first? (No, I havent done the quest. Im just curious)

It works like pap but basically you kill 100 of

- the green one [drops green etc]
- the bigger blue one [drops blue etc]
- anchor [drops red etc]

You can do the quest as many times as you want with no waiting period.

Also, did they up his dmg? I recall being able to take at least 3 to 4 hits before i needed to pot, but he killed me in 2.. DX

the damage is not changed, still hit 3.5 ~3.8 on me, really sucks for ranged classes even on high lvls (poor bowmans)
i killed twice and no drops, just pots and etc items, but for sure is something i will try everyday since for me is a fast fight, and i am happy glitch is fixed +_+

i am also have a question, what is the best drop of latanica? (scrolls, equips)
