What they're doing here is changing the server side of the damage calculation so that the displayed damage will still be 32k, but you'll only receive like 10,000 or whatever. I'm not really sure how they will do this in regards to autobans and stuff, it seems weird and risky.

Is the PQ's settings server sided? Like.. How a room resets?
Hmm, I doubt I'll get a pendy tomarrow but I'll go on some runs. I'm sill amazed at how amazing the skills the monsters use. The shinobi 3 hint fits well with the Theifs jump/start thing

I'm under the impression their temp fix is to make the damage done by BF to be less than what is displayed. It might still show 32k while you take 3.2k in actuality or something.

Hmm, gotta work on gettting people ready for tomarrow =] PQs are almost 100% server side, so that was obviously fixable with a server check, but for bigfoot the damage is being determined by an attack stat in the data, so that would need a patch to fix. Now, the client display damage and the received damage on the server aren't going to match so it'll probably be pretty weird.

Wouldn't it be easier/safer to force it to not stomp at all?

I think that Maple just calculates damage twice, once on the client for display and once on the server for actual damage for the mob and for what other people see, which can explain why people who lag can see one damage while the mob is getting hit for something else, and why there used to be a bug where you saw one damage and others saw you doing another damage.
