Cygnus impressions
Oh wow, is there any point for a new player to make an adventurer as opposed to a cygnus knight now? I think Knights of Cygnus will seriously kill the game in the long run because barely any new players will want to make adventurers, considering Knights of Cygnus are much more powerful at similar levels, and Nexon even acknowledges it.

cygnus characters can't kill bosses as well as adventurers, and the level limit is so low that there's really hardly anything to look forward to. this is why there's very few active cygnus players on kMS over about level 8x-9x.

Eh, barely any players get past 120 anyway, and if they do hit that level range and keep wanting to play, they'll have the 12 atk advantage to work with when they start their 2nd char. Most people who play MS get stuck in 20-50, and for them Cygnus would be a better choice.

Most of the people with 4th job chars have 2-3 high levels anyway, starting with a Cygnus wouldn't be a problem (in fact it reduces the impact of mistakes since you have more AP to work with anyway)

If it makes it to GMS this way, I'll be kinda amused by my overpowered level 3x Fighter... >_> I suspect this increase is enough for it to hit 3000 damage before level 40.
edit: yeah it is, my mule can hit 3060 at level 38.

This is funny because I immediately thought the exact opposite.

"Well pineapple, who's going to bother making a Cygnus now? They don't benefit your main any more, they have a lower max cap, they're far less versatile than usual... All this hard work going into Cygnus and their storyline just went down the drain."
some SSes of the new training area:

I meant new players as in people new to the game, so if they happen to want to continue their adventurer past 20, they'll see their Cygnus peers doing way more damage than them, especially in cpq, and training way faster than them. So naturally, people would want to start off as a Cygnus as their first character rather than an adventurer.

Is this 'maple town' for Cygnus return-to-able?
Cygnus Islanders? xD

Once you go from one map to the next map, you can't go backwards, so it wouldn't really work for an "islander".

IsaacGS Wrote:That's basically it. Their blessing will be as high as the highest character on the same server besides themselves.

If you had a 110 adventurer and a 10 Cygnus, the Cygnus would get level 11 and the adventurer would get level 1. Same as before.

Well that's lame yet interesting at the same time, because that means the Blessing can increase higher than +12 for the parent character, but if one wants +20, they need a (god forbid) 200 character. Mad Might as well get my Hermit to 120 so both my Pirate and Cygnus can benefit from +12 attack. It hurts those with more than 1 high level character because if one is raising a Cygnus for the sake of the boost, they will already get it, or even higher once they level the Cygnus to level 10. No change to Newcomers of course. In other words, it hurts old players because there's less motivation to level a Cygnus, and screws over people with only 2 characters (ie newer players) in the beginning.

Oh well, I still have a good reason to level a Soul Warrior: Experience the broken nature that is Combo + Charge + Brandish. It's really hard to argue dealing 40k+ a hit or 80-90k max per Brandish is not something people would not want, like so:

Just wondering, but are you still limited to one cygnus per world?

That hasn't been the case for some time.

I'm also disappointed to see that Cygnus characters have simply turned into a different way to play the same game. They're not balanced with adventurers at all, and I preferred to think of them as a side-quest.

Do we really have to call normal players Adventurers now? That sounds so lame.

And oh no what have they done to Ereb. It was such a nice place now it looks
crap with all that junk everywhere. Totally spoils the look. If you still need to get a normal character to 20 before you can make a Cygnus then wtp is the point of doing a whole second tutorial? Just seems a total waste of time.

I read through the entire first page (including all of Isaac's original post) but I didn't see any mention of this "blessing", and am kind of wondering what it is, as it clearly affects all of your characters on that server. Could anyone explain this to me?

also I don't have any real problem with being called an 'Adventurer', since... that's what I've always considered them. Players, too, I don't see the problem!

Adventurers

Looking for all freedom seekers, enjoy the time you are an Adventurer!
Travelers and drifters have suddenly appeared. (?)
Without any special purpose, the classic Maple jobs are for those who want to enjoy the world.
Through the former version, you can switch jobs and your career can be different.
They are incomplete and have a weak start.
The more you repeat the adventure, you will become more grown out of it.

Growth Rate, 2 stars
Potential, 2 stars
Freedom, 3 stars
Difficulty, 2 stars
Maximum Level 200

Knights of Cygnus

Empress of the angels! Come fight against the Black Wizard!
This is an elite group of warriors for Empress Cygnus.
They were born to protect the men from the Maple World from the Black Wizard.
Because they have special skills and articles, rapid growth is possible.
Their level growth is relatively low.
At the same levels, they are more powerful than anyone else.

Growth Rate, 3 stars
Potential, 1 star
Freedom, 2 stars
Difficulty, 1 star
Maximum Level, 120

The 1,2,3 system makes me think that a class with 3 star potential 3 start difficulty and 1 star growth rate may be in the future?
Dark Disciples maybe?
I think its good that they point out that adventures will be stronger endgame and that cygnus are stronger early on.Glitter

You guys are all forgetting that most weapons are still limited to adventurers:
-Axe, BW, Spear and PA are normal Warrior only.
-F/P(mainly the P), I/L and Holy are still for the normal Magician.
-Xbow is only for Crossbowman.
-Dagger is only for Bandits.
-Guns are only for Gunslingers.

That and the star thing shows that "Adventurers" have more potential than Knights of Cygnus, so people that want more power or a different kind of character will go for adventurer(and yay for 3 stars for freedom!).

Imagine if pherhaps... The level cap of 200 max is going to be raised, when the disciples come out =D. Grind for life for the win.

It HAS been the case and still is. Its just the blessing goes to all other characters.

no no, Dusk is right. you can make multiple cygnus characters on one account as long as you have a parent character for each one and enough character slots.

I thought Isaac said Cygnus chars got their own independent char slot...what about those who have all 6 slots used?

Nothing. Meaning, you can have 12 characters per world now. Joy.
