I see some good series on some of your lists.

I'm honestly not a fan on CLAMP anime, but I guess it's just my taste of anime. I've heard some good things about them.

Also, thanks for some of the suggestions. (Although this wasn't a suggestion topic, I wanted to watch some that were recomended) I've watched / downloaded some of them and they're pretty good. I don't know if I'm a good person to ask if one is good or not though. I'm easily entertained and I generally never stop in the middle of a series.

Indeed, KyoAni is overhyped. I really like their animation style, but really the only reason I like KyoAni's work is because they use Key's work.

I don't understand most of the Haruhi / Lucky Star craze. I watched the anime, but I didn't find them so appealing that everyone rants about them.

OMG AIR is my favourite too. I love animes with supernatural themes, and AIR is so perfect.... and sad too. Misuzu <3

[SIZE="1"]Overhyped... maybe, I think they just have a really rabid fanbase. Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu is certainly different, but I prefer the light novels. The characters are slightly different, and I think it's better in a medium that allows you to visualize more of the things it expresses.

Lucky Star was decent, I disliked the fact that more than half of it was a Haruhi-mercial, which reeked of KyoAni kissing their own ass. Doesn't deserve a lot of the flak it receives from the utterly horrible first few episodes, but doesn't really warrant much of the "OMG BEST ANIMU EVARRRRRR"

@Jean: wtp. You liked Kai more than the original? Orite, more Rika. lololol.

I never see Kino's Journey on these kinds of threads. I don't think many people have seen it, which is a real shame. Every episode is a great short story satire of human nature and it just drips with irony.

I used to like Bleach a lot more than I currently do, but this stupid filler arc suuuuccckkksss. Naruto Shippuden is really gaining a lot of my attention, it's getting interesting. But my favorite anime I'd have to say is Full Metal Alchemist. <3

Code Geass is very similar to Death Note.

Guy 1: I set this up so you couldn't do that!
Guy 2: Well I guessed you would do that so I counter that with this!!!!
Guy 1: I ALSO GUESSED YOU WOULD DO THAT AND DID THAT TO COUNTER YOUR COUNTER!
Guy 2: Wow!

It's not bad. :o

@below Gurren Lagann is awsome. Sad

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan was quite good, gave everyone their testosterone powered mecha animu for a while. The plot honestly got quite drab. Fight big dude first time, lose, get motivational "BELIEVE IN ME WHO BELIEVES IN YOU" speech, fight bad guy, get wtp big mecha, start all over again.

Simon was just fucking annoying as an emo peach.

Although, it does have the record for one of the few anime

Kenshin is another which I prefer English, though I haven't completed that anime. I also found Ranma 1/2 to be better in English--and it's always good for some laughs Big Grin

I really enjoyed Full Metal Alchemist as well :]

Fushigi Yuugi was amazing. Its forever branded in my head as a classic. However I'd have to say revolutionary Girl Utena is my favorite so far, though Code Geass might become it if the ending is good enough.

How could you say maybe to them being over hyped? You and I both know there are way more animes that should be getting more attention but aren't. Look at Seto no Hanayome, [Zoku] Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, even NHK ni Youkoso! as far as comedies go, since I don't quite understand the romantic tension in those drama things like Air, Kanon, or Clannad. At least Nana was popular....

Haruhi was definitely over hyped, maybe not over rated if you didn't find it boring. I really hate how a majority of people rabu rabu Hirano Aya because she was Haruhi. There are so many other newer seiyuus that deserve more attention. And no, I'm not bashing her acting, since it's decent. I just thought Minorin was the better one. Hey, at least she can sing live, too. Ugh.

Think of the KyoAni fanbase as the Type-Moon fanbase, olol.

AND YES SEAN, IT WAS TOTALLY BECAUSE I GOT MORE NIPAA~

Really though, not just because there was more nipaa~ and the added auauau, I like the art style more in the second season, how my questions were answered, how the mystery was solved, and how they had a happy ending. I'm sure I'll like the answer arcs of Umineko no Naku Koro ni more than the question ones as well because of this.

I can't be that weird for liking the answers more than the questions, can I?

[SIZE="1"]Yeah, I meant overrated, stop making me think so much!

I actually prefer the question arcs more. I think its much more interesting that they leave things up to you to figure out. It adds a sense of mystery and uncertainty that makes it more thrilling. (Even though I hate anime with super open endings)

It's like... the reason for everything sorta wears out the mystery / horror part of the anime. Sorta like how the monster in your closet is scary until you finally figure out "Ohay it was just my clothes. lololol". Then again, maybe I just hated Miyo with an undying passion (except for the one scene when she is all "I CAN GO IN HERE? REALLY? IN HERE? REALLYYYYYYY?

Not that Kai was bad in any way, or that the answer arcs were bad, but I merely preferred the questions more.
