Crimsonwood 2
Alloy Wrote:Seriously, the first time I saw that guy, I just wanted to yell "VAN HELSINGGGG..."

I don't really like that character too much, but the name's totally kickass.

Also, anyone noticed "my guy" has blonde hair? Another relation to Vega/Balrog, Loose!

Ahhh it might be Van Helsing I was thinking of.

Where did you and Kirov get those pictures of these new characters?:f6:

Maplestory is insanely easy to mess around with because it's all done with such defined pixels. I could easily and flawlessly cut out the four Grandmasters in that picture with Photoshop. That's probably what they did, and then made their own modifications.

godofturtles Wrote:Why do people assume so much, people see literally one picture with 4 monster images, and suddently people start declaring that guardians are gonna be replaced/given alternates and other people start assuming god knows what else. Stop making possibly false expectations, people don't wanna hear all of the complaining once you realize you were wrong =[ And no, I'm not referring to speculators, you guys come up with the cool ideas, and other people take what you speculate at face value T_T

It's easy to assume that there's Crimson Guardian alternatives with CWK2, not only from the Q&A a week or so back, but from that vague preview picture alone (Crimson Guardians guard CWK2, and these superior Guardians would guard a deeper part of the keep/CWK3). There's a much better chance that more training areas will be available to higher levels, and there's no need to bring down hopes with your NOW NOW GUISE LET'S NOT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS view on things.

Yeah I just took it from the wallpaper. The bowman Grand Master is the easiest to mess around with. It's not really hard.

Made it myself, on PAINT! Big Grin

Seriously, I simply grabbed a screenshot of someone in the phantom forest, and edited it in.

IsaacGS Wrote:Not to mention if you remember a few months back, he was asking what our favorite boss types were and everyone was saying "3rd job advancement fight!" Well, same basic thing here, a humanoid, and even one of the same class and (possibly?) relative ability. I gotta agree, this seems a lot cooler than just OMFG MEGALITHIC BOSS. They can only get so big, you know.

I hope the people saying that were referring to someone other than the Dark Lord, I didn't use a single pot killing him (he died in less L7s than my total MP at the time, and his magic attack range is shorter than L7 so I didn't even have to dodge)

How boring is thatTongue

Well I think he meant the boss fighting style, not the difficulty or the fights.

He also specified his favorite boss fights, and there was 4 of them,

Horntail
Black Crow
3rd job boss fight

And I cant remember the 4th, though im sure this somehow plays into the PQ...

Edit: 4th boss was pap

Kirov Wrote:Well you are fighting 4 at once so I guess that automatically makes the fight epic. Unless Nexon screw it up somehow (uh-oh..). So yeah they probably do something annoying during the fight. I agree with Felix. I prefer the smaller bosses to the oversized stationary ones. When I said they were bigger than I thought, I was comparing them to the regular crimson wood mobs as opposed to other bosses. I thought the Grand Masters were just the same size as regular mobs so was surprised to see they are noticeably larger. Blame that on my poor perception I guess.

4 bosses +small map = win for warriors? Esp if high KB requirements, Fury and Brandish (and crusher to an extent) can be quite useful here Big Grin

*Hoping that the warrior has high enough wdef to make sacrifice competitive*

Athena's strafe was somewhat dangerous, but it was still fairly easy. I think the most exciting part of it was really, you're running around and she's running around, and you're pretty much on equal terms. It felt very PvP-ish, even if the biggest threat was the Tauromacis summoned.

Also I'm kinda worried about the 4 bosses thing, can't keep 4 bosses pinned XD I've had Pap KB'ed into me too many times to trust letting them run free.

I'm guessing you aren't referring to the Q&A where prose specifically said that basically it would be more like different sections of the keep with single pure spawns of already released keep monsters. He was asked if there would be new monsters, he practically said no, mostly the same. Considering that there really are 4 monsters not including guardians which already have a pure spawn map, the addition of 4 new super guardians would go against what prose said. I may be wrong, and he may be purposely misleading us, but it makes more sense that these are the grandmasters since they are basically just alternate versions of humans from another dimension. Who says they'll be huge (that wouldn't be realistic)?

IsaacGS Wrote:Why? they did this exact same thing for previous Masteria patches (The calendar contained images of the previous month's patch.) I'm sticking by the 25th.

Oh, and do I once again need to point out:
1. Prose said NO NEW COMMON MOBS. They are the grandmasters, and thus bosses, not trainable mobs.
2. The rooms in the Keep were reactionary, they weren't originally planned. Prose said they added them because we asked for pure spawn maps. Thus, they're mostly constructed with unused/barely used Mansion map objects (Yes, even this picture everyone's fawning over was in the mansion data.)
3. The date of this patch has never been posted on strategywiki, even though I'm confident it's the 25th I would never mark it until I had an official announcement, so I have no idea what that guy's talking about.
1. Nexon can change their mind although in the GM blog they told us about a lot of bosses.
2. What do you mean pure spawn in the keep? there will be new mobsqold from vrimsonwood int here?
3. i think it will be in 4/1/09...

Guys, i have to tell you somthing: i like patches. i can sit on my chair, smoking a cigarettes, but when i play, it not fun...

Does anyone think i'll have to finish all the quests to get in the keep? I want to train in the windraider guild hall as an alternative to LA (and maybe the stormbreaker one if it's mobby enough to replace squids/something to train on in 8x) but i don't know if i need the keystone to get past the main gate or not. I figured the keystone was to be able to do the PQ.

They don't just "Change their minds" this close to release. It's pretty much set in stone by this point. I wouldn't be surprised if they were already in the early testing stages of the next expansion.

If you had read the Q&A, which is conveniently copied and pinned right here in this very section of Southperry, Prose said that they are making maps that have only Windraiders, only Stormbreakers, etc. No mixed spawn maps where two or three different kinds of monsters appear.

And yeah, if there's anything we should have learned from both NLC and CK1, it's that they ONLY do Q&A sessions and GM blogs when things are set for release in the next patch. An unpredicted delay to March is certainly possible, but April's a bit ridiculous.

Probably just the Keystone one, though that may be pointless since the windraider hall would be farily useless to anyone who needs them by the time you can kill stormbreakers, maybe you dont need any complete to just enter the keep, but just the inner sanctum.

As if they are waiting for us. They know we are coming and setting up a trap for us.
Or it could just be that it's just like another monster with a lot of hp and each job has to do a certain thing to bring it down, like attack it in a certain place or use a certain skill on it.

But please, do not start calling these Grandmasters GMs. They are in no way, shape, or form going to be called a GM. They are just too epic to be called such.

LF>Someone to Photoshop all the Grandmasters! XD
