Balrog Boss quests

Just want to go over the quests in a small degree of detail to shed a little more light on how this whole Balrog thing works.

Good news: all quests so far are 50+, no cap.

The first quest is to go down into the dungeon and find Muyoung, who was sent by Manji to investigate the deep area. It requires Manji and the Gladius completed. For finding Muyoung, you get 50k EXP.

The second quest has no prerequisite. Chrishrama asks you to put a seal on each of the 6 tombstone-type NPCs in the Ant Tunnel. They're spread out throughout the Ant Tunnel, so you'll pretty much have to walk down to the bottom. There's a special action that happens when you apply each one, but the basic idea is the same as the ariant food delivery quests. The reward is 60k EXP.

Third quest (No Prerequisite) is to find a secret note that was lost in the Ant Tunnel. Pick it up, and take it to Muyoung. Reward is 30k EXP. Then...
"Suddenly, during a conversation with Muyoung, Junior Balrog suddenly appeared in front of your eyes. Let Junior Balrog fight."
After the Jr. Balrog is defeated, Tristan's Soul appears and tells you of his story. Reward for this part is 50k EXP.

Fourth quest requires the first quest completed. Basically, defeat the Balrog boss. You get 130k EXP for defeating it.

Fifth quest, deliver a report on the goings on from Muyoung to Manji. 50k EXP. Take another message back, 30k EXP.

Sixth quest, also requires the first completed. Muyoung sends you to go talk to a suspicious guy he saw, Susangnam. 10k EXP.

Seventh quest requires sixth quest completed. Collect 20 pieces of Balrog's leather. 100k EXP. It doesn't say if there's something for this, but I think it may be either how you get the Scrolls, or how you upgrade to the Fur shoes.

So that's it basically.

Nice, looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun. I'm really glad they made a SW expansion (complete with boss and quests even).

Are the quest beginner do-able? They sound interesting nonetheless.

Hate that quest. The story behind it is nice but the actual quest kind of sucks.

You need the following items:

Star rock <- Not very expensive before and practically free now because of ore hackers
Ancient scroll <- found in FM all the time for 500k-1m
Flaming feather <- dropped by Selkies and pretty common; I have like 5 of these
Piece of Ice <- easily obtained from the quest Arwen and Ellinia, which only requires you to kill 100 Green Mushrooms

The only way it's in any way annoying is that the reward isn't worth the time it takes to find this crap. I just do it on one of my characters whenever I get my hands on an Ancient scroll.

Star Rock: Ores themselves are expensive due to maker. Making one will cost nearly 7M.
Ancient Scroll: Rare in Keyaki and are 4m per...
Flaming Feather: Soooo rare that you never see one in FM, and we do not have Singapore.
Piece of Ice: This I might do on my low level warrior, but due to the lack of Green Shrooms (due to map changes, this quest may take longer..)

Now lets hope for once that Nexon doesn't lvlcap these quests, like in Magatia...

I've done the quest but it wasn't as easy as that back in 2005. The items were rarer back then. Not to mention if I want to complete the quest on multiple characters I have to do that quest each time.

I didn't mention it in the extraction thread because it appeared to be incomplete, but I believe they're overhauling the Quest UI. It looks like it'll show you the quest reward before you complete it.

where does balrog leather drop from? the big balrog?

No way to know. I hope it's Jr. Rog, but more likely it's the big one.

i hope it drops in large quantities like 7 or 8 drops from one and with 2 or 3 per thing instead of something like 1 per rog

Would a level 52 Spearman be able to kill a Jrog?
