Clannad ~After Story~ 9-18: I can't believe I dropped this when there was only one more episode of those side stories before they went back to Nagisa. That said, watching it in bulk may have made it even better. I was totally captivated by the atmosphere and barely noticed the time passing. It was just terrific overall. Plus, I thought all the crying was appropriate, so it wasn't annoying like before. Next episode looks good as well, and I'm looking forward to that. I hope they use a couple of the last few episodes for alternative paths like the Tomoyo one.

JoeTang Wrote:Kurokami 06: Wow... Just... They can't even... What the pineapple was... Jesus... There's so many things wrong with this, I don't even know where to begin.

Well, let's start with Mikami. She was supposed to befriend Kuro for a while. Her target was supposed to be Akane, but since they changed part where they know she's the root, I guess that had to be changed too. But what the pineapple is this about Keita and Shingo being subs? And that fight was awful. This particular story lost any true depth and meaning. Read the damn manga instead, please. Then you'll have a true appreciation for the story.

I thought this episode sucked too, but not for those reasons alone.
HOW did Kuro stand up and watch Mikami's omgdrama scene right after being beaten to halfdeath? She should be on the ground, hurting/dying from all the bruises and internal bleeding.

Plus with all the asshattery we've seen on Keita's part, you'd expect him to cheer Mikami on as she kills beats up Kuro.

I think the sub part adds an actual bit of more plot to the story.
aka, at least now there's a valid reason for Keita to act like an ass to Kuro.

Steiner finding the pile of Mototsumitama corpses was a great scene (or should I say the best scene in this crapped up anime?).

Though this is nothing compared to the epic failure that was episode 3.

You two knock it off. Frown

You're gonna make me read the manga, and then I'll hate the anime too. I enjoy it right now... Don't do this to me...

You should feel bad for enjoying it.

Just for more detail, in the manga version:
Shingo is actually just dying of old age. He was Mikami's contractee from very long ago. Or it's implied anyways, I think. Especially with his clothing and haircut. Trousers with suspenders and a dress shirt.

They didn't really touch upon it in the show, but those black marbles are a drug that extends his life, though causing him excruciating pain. When Kuro sees Shingo, she tells Mikami off about how she's a failure of a mototsumitama because of the whole coexisting balance deal, and they argue about using humans. Keita's trust is lost because Mikami says mototsumitama would normally abandon their contractee when they get too old/weak to fight, like Shingo, not because subs wear out and crap faster.

When Shingo dies, Kuro is actually still lying on the ground, bloody. She stumbles up, slouching and covered in blood and bruises, and Mikami still tries to pick a fight, but she breaks down.

In the manga, Kuro actually uses boxing as her fighting style, and Mikami counters this with sumo. Some real style involved in the fights as opposed to just random punches.

This is the bullpomegranate that will happen when you condense an ENTIRE VOLUME into one episode. Well, entire volume minus two chapters. The other chapter was Kuro and Keita befriending that loli, and then the following chapter having the loli be run over by that truck.

I actually liked that first episode a lot.
The brief introduction of the loli coupled with the suddenness of the truck scene made that episode really epic.

...though episode 2+ just became ten-day-old crap in a bucket.

Waiting on (Goku) Zetsubo Sensei Episode 3 to get subbed... RARGHH
Sora Kake Girl ep. 7 and Munto ep. 5 raw also came out. :/
Sub faster, m.3.3.w! D:

Hetalia episode 4 was... not very attractive, to put it nicely.

Rideback 06: Wow the guy that was riding the bike Rin took got owned. Rin kicks so much ass.

Rideback 5-6: From my experience, this is usually the point when the protagonist finds out that his/her father/mother did the same thing when they were young/alive, though I'm not really expecting it to happen for Rideback.

Rin is impressive, though I would like to see more pronounced references to ballet. The reporter is typical but still annoying. But what continues to get me is that constant blush the characters have... This show is still great though.

Kurokami 02-03:
Kuro is awesome, but I have the feeling that Keita is going to end up as one of the useless douchebags that just watching from the sidelines.

I really hope this doesn't go down hill like Chaos;Head did.

Sora Kake Girl 01-02:
Amazing series, all the characters are great (aside from those ass holes at the police council but they don't count >_>). I loved it when Lelouch Leopard said, "Fuck society."

Itsuki is fucking awesome.

You should watch something that has already aired, like Natsume Yuujinchou.

I'm watching TTGL at the moment. Next week, I'm planning to go through Higurashi S1.

*crawls in groggy*

I watched the first season + OVA of Clannad the past couple days. And just now I got done reading all 292 chapters of Gantz manga in one sitting (ended up staying up all night)...

I need to finish a paper and head to class soon... Ciao guys.

Gantz is a pretty great thing to marathon, in my opinion. Not so much in small doses since so little happens in each chapter.

I just finished TTGL. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Nia ;_;
Yes, I know I'm a papaya for not watching it sooner. pineapple. Now I'm going to be depressed all day. I guess I'll start on Higurashi S1 and see if I can get some DVD versions of S2 and finish all that before S3 starts.

Yeah it was marvelous. I mainly only read gorey and/or sexual manga, so it suited me well.

And wait...wat. That was your first time watching Gurren Lagann? Haven't watched Higurashi yet either Sad?

Am I misunderstanding...

Oh, I finished my paper too. I gotta head to class and then take a test running on no sleep and Gantz overload. Just the way I like it!

No, that was my first time. I've never had time for anime until last summer ('07), where I started watching some stuff. I've had TTGL on my to-watch list for a very long time but a lot of other stuff got in the way a lot of the time, and I always had something else to watch instead that was more pressing. I was more into reading manga most of the time, but I've since exhausted a lot of my interests.

I've always hated Gantz's random service chapter covers because it didn't fit. Completely random and had nothing to do with the story. Just a waste of time for the author to see what he could draw in (half of) those skin tight suits. And it was kind of a turn off to see gore the next page. Unless you're into guro. I'm not, so no thanks.

Anyways, I recall /a/ talking about how Gantz is the whole axis of evil; Japan, Italy, Germany, and there was some weird metaphor for WWII. The American team better not be overpowered.

Watching Higurashi S1 right now. Stupid avi. So QUALITY in here.
