Jack Barricade's Clues
#1
I'm going to try to upload as much of Jack's text as possible, because his is the most relevant to what we'll find inside the keep. I can't upload everything because that's somewhere in the magnitude of 350 screenshots.

So...
  • It talks about stone golems. Initially, we assumed this was a reference to Crimson Guardians, but it seems much more likely this is the giant statue we saw in the new screenshots. After all, guardians aren't really big enough to carry Jack off, whereas this new statue could easily cart him off in the manner described.
  • 4 Grandmasters, attack on NLC, etc. The purpose of the PQ will likely be to stall the attack on NLC. If we're just stalling rather than flat out stopping, that gives an excuse for it to be repeatable.
  • Grandmaster Mage is female, as specifically mentioned there.

"From there these massive stone guardians took me and marched me into the Keep's inner sanctum"

This says 2 things, the keystone unlocks the inner sanctum, whcih seems to be a deeper part of the keep than whats just immediately behind the gate ,probably the PQ area (the keystone doesnt unlock the main gate then?), and it references the monsters within.

Thats all I see so far though...

Edit:

Also from the Lukan thread http://www.southperry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2376;

"...this unholy energy field you describe is another matter. Regarding this impedent, I do not know what advice I can give."

How are we getting into the keep then?! D:

Some things from the Lukan thread

Lukan: In the main hall of the keep, known as the hall of mastery.

Lukan:There is a giant statue erect in his honor

So maybe that is not a boss but a statue with items he used. Maybe we need to do somthing to do them get to the next stage.

Isaac said this awhile back:

"That was in reference to the Dragon ninja clan. Then again, seeing how raven ninjas related to Crimsonwood, it's not impossible that Dragon ninjas are also tied to it."

What if we had to sneak if for part of the PQ and get somthing for the Raven ninjas which give us a key to Dragon Ninja clan and Raven Ninja clan?

Energy field... sounds like those energy portals we use to teleport around NLC. O_o

Anyone have any screenshots of what NLC mayor said about NLC when we had that quiz would be very helpful.

Just to clarify for readers, that's a statue of Crimsonheart. So, it's safe to say that this is a statue in Crimsonheart's honor, but not necessarily of him (as nothing mentions him having 4 arms.).

about the Dragon ninjas, the "Inner sanctum of the Dragon Ninja Clan" was mentioned on the description of one of the unreleased items from NLC's original patch. This is more than likely a totally separate area, in keeping with the giant Dragon Door in the inaccessible NLC map. They're just using the term "Inner Sanctum" to describe two different things, and since one is unreleased/not coming soon, it may change to avoid this very confusion.

I really don't think that the statue is actually chris. I mean obviously, it's a giant stone statue. What i mean is that i don't think it's his actual FORM. I think the whole thing is a representation, a model, of what his power is like. He's dead, but the statue in his honor could have been carved with 4 arms to represent his mastery of all classes, and made massive to signify his great power. No doubt chris would have carried around various weaponry to be used at different times like we can equips different ones, so they just made it like that on the statue.

I can't believe i missed that being carried around by a statue thing though. o_o Who says CGs can't carry him around? They're big enough.

I don't really see that humungo statue as being a mobile monster. The stone guardians he's referring to are probably the crimson guardians because they are massive compared to him, they're stone, and they're guardians O_o

Also, it sounds like we'll have to go through dungeons to get in apparently, as that's how Jack got in. This helps for people who can't take touch damage from crimson guardians, unless there are more unavoidable crimson guardians inside.

He said he was captured by soldiers(Crimson Guardians?) and then massive stone guardians took him to the Inner Keep. CG aren't really "massive" or Golem looking and he also said he was "carried in the crushing grip" and was able "to see everything"...sounds like he was being transported in a single hand high above the ground.

That huge statue looks like a Golem and has the hight and large hands. Biggrin

Looks like part of the PQ is taking down the Energy Field, unlocking the Locked Inner Sanctum Gate and then defeating the 4 Grand Masters to get into the Keep's Inner Sanctum to either capture/destroy the Antellion.

He also says it's not big enough for many people to sneak through it...

Maybe you'll only be allowed to have 1 party member go that route or something? Tongue

"Someone with the immense power to shift dimensions" = 5th boss?

What if Elpam Gorlab is secretly evil, and he used the Time Fragments, not to get back to his home, but to haul up his buddies the Grandmasters? Big Grin

What Isaac said somewhere seems more likely, that the PQ will only be to hold off the attack by the Versalian Grandmasters.

I seriously doubt anything to do with the Antellion to going to come into play in this part of the story.

What I was thinking since there are Versalian versions of the Grandmasters of Crimsonwood Keep why wouldn't there be a Versalian version of Chirstopher Crimsonheart himself?

Just thinking out loud, but i've counted 4 days to get into the keep. 1. Sewer 2. Main Gate.
3/4. The chains on the left and right side of the keep(Currently you can climb up them, but when you reach the top you'll just fall back down.) It's pretty obvious the Keystone will unlock the Inner Sanctum Gate IMHO. I forgot the other 2 points I wanted to make, i'll have to look over the screens again Eek.

If I recall, the quests give you a key to the inner Crimsonwood right? Lukan's key at least...is that enough for this portal.

And after watching Lost, vanishing continents that travel through time seem all pretty normal =]

Edit: After reviewing Stereo's compilation, we already posses the key to the inner sanctum.

They're not exact counterparts. Actually, that's why I brought up the "Female Grandmaster Mage" point - Lukan describes Delgrund as being the Grandmaster in his time, and Delgrund was male. These are not the same people, nor are they mirror counterparts.

and Chameleonic hit the nail on the head with that, it's exactly my point. It's not that he says he's being carried by a stone monster that's the main part, it's how he describes being carried, which is in a manner that makes it completely impossible for the monster in question to be guardians.

We seem to know that Crimsonheart is the Twisted Masters' goal. But why do they need him? Could he be the key to operating the giant statue, or are they trying to get the Indigo Phoenix? What's the motive here?

You know, seeing this picture:
http://flickcabin.com/public/view/full/21525

Made me think, perhaps we reach the Keep from underground? Seems like a far-fetched idea but it's possible they implement a way to get inside the keep from one of the underground maps and then make a quest that allows you to access the front door.

Or he could have been taken by a flying creature made of stone. Thus, being able "to see everything".

maybe crimsonheart's tomb is the way to the Old Sapp' Village?
aka, like the FMA anime- when a huge dead city is being discovered under a church.. Tongue

Or maybe there's something inside the tomb that the Versalians need.

The Indigo Phoenix could be a tele portal (inter dimensional to Versal?) like those in the picture posted above by Harrisonized.

I think Jack would have stated "the stone soldier that picked me was very big" if it was the statue.

Seriously, why wouldn't he say that he saw an enormous statue and that it captured him? He just said "stone golems" which makes me think that the enormous statue in the image that NEXON provided us isn't the same that captured Jack. And it probably wasn't a Crimson Guardian, too. What if it's just a new monster?

Because it makes for a much more...dramatic (?) story.

If a trainable monster could carry people off it wouldn't be very popular would it, since it would probably just kill you easily. A trainable monster wouldn't carry jack around the keep, it had to be controlled by someone or something. Thus, the statue in the picture.

Also, why would it just be decoration if the weapons glow? Unless that was just done for showing us and doesn't actually glow.

I was reading this the other day as well, and the indigo phoenix is definitely something we'll encounter in the PQ i'd say.

Yes, but again, why didn't he use the singular? He said "stone GOLEMS captured me" not "a stone GOLEM", so.. are there MORE than one of these enormous statues?
