The thread for Str-less brawlers

Here is my progress on my str-less brawler. If you have one post it here and show me your progress. There is also a thread on basil.

Hi guys, It's me--GunDelHel, better known as InBomb, the creator of the Lukless Str Dit.

Anywho, the great thing about a Lukless Str dit was the sheer stability of having 4/5 Luk--but now, we have Pirates(Brawlers)--another class who class changes with Dex but doesn't have to use it.

So I got to thinking--why not a Strless Dex Brawler? So I started it 2 days ago, worked just a tiny bit on it, not really getting too into it, and hit level 30 last night--so I wanted to throw my pictures up--tell my plan--and get some feedback.

Notice my Avoid? It's through the roof! Apparently, Brawler's avoid is 1.6 of their Dex value, so I may have more avoid than Dexless Sins in the long run. xD
And yeah, I know my Luk is 1 above--It was the best roll I could get, Im gonna fix that eventually though.

Anywho, my plan for now is:
Max HP Increase > Max Corkscrew > Max Double Uppercut > Max Backspin Blow > 5 Mastery > Max Booster > Play with the other skills eventually getting 19 mastery

Now--here's where it gets a bit tricky.
There are no Dex Knucklers like there are Str Daggers--so how do we make this work--We use our bare hands and attack shields! The fact is--our speed without weapons (or with a shield) is "Faster". And for some reason, we hit more damage without a weapon than we do with the level 10 knuckler. But eventually--Maple Anniversaries will come out, and we'll scurry to the highest Maple Knuckler. Hence why Mastery is maxed very late (Because it doesnt work barehanded). Booster also doesn't work barehanded--but eventually Maple Knucklers come out and you have to have maxed booster for Speed Infusion/Wind Booster.

Now--until Screw Punch and all over power SK--I'm going to use common equips and SK--hence the baseball bat damage range. Which is pretty nice considering that SK gives a 190% damage increase. Hitting a consistent 220~250 damage is pretty nice. Especially considering that it could be 220~250 damage across 6 enemies--which is 1320~1500 dmg done per SK for people bad at math. Which is worth it if you ask me. Anywho, I'll keep everyone updated on my progress.

Don't see the point of str-less brawlers. 2nd job+ skills all require Knucklers, and without Strength; you can't equip any so it's pretty boring (Somersault kick is pretty much the only skill you'll use).

Only application I see that as useful for is seduce bait, and methinks shadowers would still be a better choice.

Uhm yeah sandra, you obviosly came into this thread before you read inbombs. We use spears for most of 1st and 2nd job, and bare fists when we start to not use ss kick anymore. And then when the 64 maple weps come out we use use those.

We play maple for fun. If we have fun on these chars, then let us.
and p.s our avoid destroys shads. And in cpq we still get 500 cp solo at lvl 40, we still pwn most classes in cpq.

Looks like a pretty interesting concept.
Should be one hell of a fun character to play.
Nothing like getting to throw a beat down on monsters with your bare hands!

No b.s. hate here at all. Even with maple weapons your attack is going to fail. My guess with avoid is that with fake included we're pretty much on par but w/e. If you guys have fun with it then good for you. It just seems more like a desperate bid to be different/get attention to me(just like inbomb's other char).

What is with people hating on alternative builds? The point isn't to actually be a powerful, useful character, nor is it to get a lot of attention. It's just to have fun, and see how high you can crank your avoid up. Honestly, being a high levelled character and doing a lot of damage is a lot more conducive to showing off than making a character with a weird build like this. The same exact discussion happened concerning beginners in another thread, and the thread got closed. Just leave the STRless Brawlers alone and stop telling them they're going to be weak. They know they're going to be weak. So go away.

Thank you dusk, please guys if you have nothing good to say dont say it here. Us permas and alternate builds dont go in dissing you guys trying to get your threads closed. Please nice comments or nothing at all.

And ill throw some numbers out there, brawlers get 1.5 avoid for every dex point. That's 666 total dex and you have 999 avoid. That isn't including the avoid from luk you get from a zhelm or dep/ht pendant.
And 1 luk for dits and sins is what .5 avoid.
Thats 3x the amount of avoid.

Id say if I hit 120 as a str-less infighter ill have 999 avoid at 120 or even below that if i get good dex equips and a zhelm.

Nope, sorry man. I didn't help you.

If I were you guys, I'd consider maxing double shot, since it'll do more damage than somersault, since you're focusing solely on dex, and it'd probably speed your training quite a bit.
