Thanksgiving "Allowance" Maple Points
#21
I think Cyanna posted a clear reasoning of what happened.

In the previous years, the SC always landed so the expiration time was in the SC's time. This year, the SC was after the expiration date. During the SC, it would look at the number of cards you had and then give you points based on that. But for this year, if you logged on before the SC but after the expiration date, all your cards disappeared.

Thus when the SC happened, it checked and saw you had 0. Therefore you were awarded 0.

^Yes, hella lame.

Not true. Last year, for 2007, a similar thing happened - the maple points expired and they did not appear in the account for a week or more. I even took a screenie of all of my cards expiring just for the heck of it, and I did not get the maple points then - they made an announcement about when maple points would be received. :X

Well, since it's been bumped, I might as well mention that they responded to a comment I had in the prior ticket basically the same thing op got except that they asked me to create a separate ticket for it with a certain name. Did that what... a month ago and still nothing.

They went out of their way to create a name for the issue and an automated message specifically for it, so I hope that means there is still potential for it.

I was just about to post something cynical about the special name for the issue making it easier for them to shove these tickets to the bottom of the list, but today I finally got a response and my ticket was closed. See update in first post.

Note, however, that they are not admitting this is a widespread issue. They did not post a notice for "anybody who didn't get their Thanksgiving MP, contact us with this information" (the way they did when they finally resolved the guild hack problem). If you don't ask for your points, it's highly unlikely that you will get them, in my opinion.

I didn't get them, and opened a ticket providing the informations they asked me when I opened the first one.

We'll see what will happen.

If it's as Kaasoljoyyx said, and they can't check what cards and how many I had if I logged in before the SC, it sucks, because I did.

LUCKILY I made a screenshot of me getting ANOTHER 100 Maple Points Card (yeah, I got only 100 ones.. and like 21+ of them -_-).

 Spoiler

Too bad, I got many more after I made that screenshot. But at least I have the evidence I got 21. If they, with their systems, can also check that I had MORE than 21 (if I have to say the truth, I can't even remember how many I got), that'd be nice.

It is really a shame that nexon cares more about themselves in these stupid events that the ppl who honestly try 2 play and b honest. I'm so tired of being crapped out of my stuff and earned credits. They need 2 change the name of the game 2 Hackers Rule since honesty and integrity
means nothing 2 them. MS has lost its goodness 4 alot of us who wanna
play fair because hackers, leechers, looters seem 2 get rewards not us. And smegas was worst mistake ever they have become very lude and rude and should b removedHothead

Since the response is not "we are aware of the problem and working to fix it" but rather asking for details as if I am the only one this happened to, I'm posting this here. If you want your Maple Points, don't just sit and wait for Nexon to sort it all out. Log a ticket, following GM Tibaroo's instructions.
Hopefully that will help.

Update 17-Jan-2009: The ticket I logged on the 9th, per GM Tibaroo's instructions, is still in "New" status - meaning nobody has even glanced at it. gg, Nexon. I bet that's why they asked for the subject to be "Thanksgiving Event MP" - that way they know there's no need to look at this ticket, it won't make them any money. (unlike other tickets in the Cash Shop category).

Update 31-Jan-2009: About two days ago, my ticket's status changed to "Escalated". Still no comments on it, nor points in my account.

Update 3-Feb-2009: My ticket has been closed, with the following response

No points in my account yet, of course. Those things take time to manufacture and transport, you know. I can wait 2-3 weeks.

I logged another ticket with all the info, hopefully it will be enough.

Thankfully I did have some SS of the 18 x 100 and 3 x 250 cards I got.

You can look at your Completed Quest log, and see how many Game On quests you have on there. Each card was a separate quest, named for the store you got it from and the number of times you've already visited there, for example "Game On <Rite Aid> 3" is for the third card you got from the Rite Aid store. The maximum is 25: 5 stores * 5 times each.

My ticket was also closed with a similar message. They even gave me all the maple points I think I should have gotten, even though I didn't have a screen shot of the actual points (I sent in screen shots of the list of completed quests).

Finally, some good news from NEXON.

Quote:Greetings,

This is based on the information you provided, as well as our logs and other circumstances surrounding the distribution of the event compensation.

These MaplePoints will be credited to your account within 10 to 15 business days.

For security reasons any sensitive account information has been made private.

Fact: GM Daliah changes color with a Rock of Evolution. (Combattente's comment: LOL WTP?)

Please do not give your password or pin number to anyone for any reason.
Nexon representatives will NEVER ask you for your password or pin.

So yeah.. today they replied to my ticket. It took a week for them to reply to my ticket.. honestly I expected even more. XD

Anyway, as you can see, they sometimes aren't so incompetent. They checked their logs (wow, they have logs! I think I underestimated NEXON Rolleyes) and they said that I'm elegible for 2500 Maple Points. Now I can remember, they were undoubtedly 2500 because I counted them before the event ended, I just couldn't remember. Now after they told me, I can confirm they were 2500. So yeah, I'm getting my Maple Points soon. I wish good luck to all the other people who didn't get their Maple Points yet. Remember to make tickets with good english and to explain everything they ask you so that they'll be able to resolve the problem more easily.

This time I must say it: good job NEXON. Rolleyes

What info did you give to get your nx?

They usually do come up with the goods in these cases. But they do make it a lot more drawn out and harder than it should be. They also never want to admit they are in the wrong either. Tongue

A screenshot with the NX cards and the quests done.

Also, be nice to them, and they might consider.

what category and sub-category should I submit to?

I submitted to "Account Related" "Cash Shop Inquiry" and the title "Thanksgiving Maple Points"

As you can see in the first post in this thread, they asked for the title to be "Thanksgiving Event MP".
But your ticket is at least in the right category. I'm sure they will get to it eventually.
The exact title is probably for ease of bunching them all up together. We see that a lot of people got (identical) responses from GM Daliah yesterday, whether they'd been waiting a week or a month.

I believe that's what I submitted it under. Since it's Nexon, they'd probably check it anyways. =P

GM Daliah has been very busy this week, answering all those tickets... I did get the same formatted answer with the exact amount of Maple Points I should have got (including one 250). And the screenshots I provided were only the chat log when all cards were removed from my inventory at once.
To everyone who still misses Points, if you don't mind waiting, go for a ticket and keep hope! Wink

Yup, got the same exact response to my ticket as you guys, but in the amount was the 2300 I expected.

So assuming this all goes down well, we should get it in one of the next couple of server checks.
