Disconnecting Issue [OFFERING REWARD]
#1
Alright f'uckers, this problem has been going on for far too long, and I'm tired of sitting around letting it annoy me daily. I'll explain this nuisance as clearly and as detailed as I can, and whoever resolves the problem will be rewarded.

The problem is pretty simple. If I AFK too long, I disconnect. I'll list some points so I don't ramble on:
-I only disconnect like this when AFK (Standing still and not touching a single thing.)
-Whether I'm AFK tabbed in or tabbed out will not prevent the problem from occurring.
-I only truly disconnect (aka "You have disconnected from the server") when I click the screen. I'll know I'm disconnected when I see tons of MapleTip messages popped up, or if I see somebody in the FM walking in place, etc. This tells me that I disconnected a LONG TIME AGO.

An SS to depict the horror:

I'll say that the reward I'm offering is well more than what I should be giving just for some help. It's obviously something in MapleStory, and since not many Southperrians are Scanians, will be MTSed (And of course I'll pay the 220 NX). If you're not a Mapler, help a nigga out because god damn, this is the most annoying issue I've ever had with this piece of garbage game. You'll have my eternal friendship, which is all that really matters on the interbutts.

I have the same problem as you do and it happens to me everytime I have a shop set up for a long time. Sometimes I don't d/c, but most of the times I do. It pisses the hell out of me, when I desperately need something to be sold.

Are you connected using a wireless or ethernet? I'm using wireless and connected through my school's super fast internet, so I'm pretty sure the problem is my wireless card. Mine is a piece of pomegranate, I lose connection randomly, even when the router is 10feet away from me. Just a thought though.

I don't have a solution, but sometimes if I just type in /find to see if I'm still online. I usually check to see if the person next to me is available. If he isn't than I know that I d/ced, but if he is, then obviously I'm still here. If I check back often, then I usually don't d/c, but I'm not going to wake up in the middle of the night just to do that. Anyways, goodluck.

Not sure if this is the answer, but I used to d/c with my shop permit up every night until I changed the client lease time on my router's DHCP server to something greater than 24 hours, and it didn't seem to happen if I was actually using the internet.

If you have a router go to
192.168.1.1
and see if you can do anything to change this, or look for anything that sounds like it's routinely resetting your connection

This doesn't happen to my 'directly connected' computer that's connected to my router. It does happen to my computer that IS connecting wirelessly though. Hope you find a solution, Greg. Also, yes, this applies when I FM (and afk) too long, I also get those Mapletip messages.

What are your screen settings? No screensaver, no turning off monitors and no turning off hard disks?

(I'm not interested in any reward.)

I used to have pretty much the same problem too. Here are some things that I did before I realized it was fixed.

I got better RAM so I could Zak with my old guild, and this ended up reducing FM lag by a ton.I also Closed all other programs while leaving a shop open while afking. And I never leave maple alt+tabbed for more than 5 minutes at a time, for it'll d/c me then also. I also ended up having to reinstall the client at one point, due to defragging my computer, some maple files got lost.

Hopefully those things will help? D:

MapleStory d/cs me automatically if I afk running in windows mode or alt+tabbed full screen. Not exactly the same symptoms, but basically I get a small little box saying "You have been disconnected from the server."

Also, there have been quite a lot of reports about screensavers or similar screwing up Maple.

I know this is like 7 months after this thread was made/last posted in...But..

I have this same problem and it pisses me off too. I don't really have a solution as do go to so and so in control panel or some magical computer thing, but I use a wireless labtop, and if I plug my DSL box's Ethernet wire into my labtop and I don't dc if I afk.

Again, sorry this is so late. I myself searched for a thread that could help me with this, when I saw this.

Your probably going to get banned/warned for necro posting.

You should probably assume he isn't D/Cing anymore either because he isn't b'itching about it anymore and the problem clearly hasn't been solved as far as we know.

lol I forgot about this thread

This problem doesn't happen to me anymore since I've got a new computer that never DCs, but take a look at this thread; while the steps that RyanTheLeper provided me with didn't solve my problem, it may help you.
