Quest Amnesty
#1
Since Nexon keeps releasing content with low/mid level Quests that a lot of people miss out on(as well as adding a lot of changes to Maple Island) I got thinking that it would be a great idea(I think its greatRolleyes) if a Quest Amnesty was introduced.

It would be nice if each patch gave a grace period of a week or two where level restrictions(only for those Over the quest level cap) were relaxed and high levels had a chance to complete the newly introduced quests, or even go back to Maple Island to complete those we missed out on.

I know it would probably be hard to program but I'm just wildly dreaming of possibilities. Biggrin

What do you think? Would you like to have a week to do the new quests?

personally i'm not a quest addict but i know a lot of people that are...

I'd love to be able to do the low lvl quests that i missed but then again its not fair that i can kill what was hard for the quest 100 times easier now hence the reward wouldn't be relevent either

hell if they intro'd that why not intro the ability to do pq's/a way to get the rewards i could use some more spigelmann's necklaces but i'm too cheap to buy them why not have my 78 sin kill some monster carnival rooms for coins.... doesn't make sense....

Yes, and I don't think it would call for that much work. Maybe the whole patch where it's introduced people can do the quests over a certain level, but in the next patch they change it to the way it would normally be.
All the magatia quests related to the pq I can't do now that I'm over the limit D:

It's basically changing one character. One single character. Or 2-3. Should be easy to do, however, for me, I wouldn't personally think too much about quests I can't do. There's a reason I'm not able to do them.

I might solve the whole thing of "High levelled" people going "oh this patch sucks nothing for me."

It might also ease the nervous twitching of quest whores.

I agree.

And there should be chances for high-leveled players to complete the PQ quests. I really hate the way those quests work.

Yeah, I agree

Though I really like the way the Mu Lung Dojo PQ is, everyone can do it, and everyone can reach a certain point in it, it can be done solo, or in a group, and its a challenge from levels 20 to 200 (depending if you're soloing or whatever).

Mu Lung Dojo PQ is really ingenious that way, I'd like to see them do more PQs like that, though im not sure how plausible it is =\

I think this is a good idea. Many players complain (I don't, I usually fall under the level requirements for these things) that they can't do the quests. This should alleviate their concerns.

Perhaps instead, they should make a quest that makes the next (5?) quests open to you no matter level restrictions. The requirments would be harder to get (and reptable of course). Something along the lines of some random monster drops, or even money (1M per quest?)

I like your idea, but it doesn't let people get the quests from the last 60 patches (or w/e). Also, neither of our solutions makes the PPQ quests (or anything similar) doable.

Maybe if you take a PPQ related quest, you'd be allowed in PPQ? That'd lead to abuse though *mage ultimates*

Yea that would be pretty awesome, I'm a quest fiend and I would sure like to have a huge quest list all nicely completed. It makes me sad though when I think about reality and realize all the great ideas on maple forums will never become real : (

I've always wanted to see something like this implemented, as it would even out the playing field for the Quest Kings. It would be nice to have an extra 30 or something quests to do too.

But TC, you mentioned returning to Maple Island to finish quests. While something like getting a chance to make up those quests hasn't been introduced (yet, hopefully), there is a Maple Island returning system as far as I'm aware; it's just not out in gMS yet.

Look at CMS's Maple Island. I think they're the only ones to have such a system. I'm not sure why.

Also, I remember that the GM PatisserieMK once brought someone to the very first map when she was randomly saying "pat pat where are you". xD

EDIT: @ IsaacGS \/, that's news to me o.O

JMS has a maple island return system as well, but their Maple Island is so different that you'd never need to go back. Also, it requires at least 300 fame in JMS.

Stay the hell off my turf! Hothead Just kidding, but still, the last thing I want to see is you guys running around Maple Island. D:

If Nexon just edited the quests to be level 10- and beginners only, then no one would have a problem with it. <_<

Sad but true. cMS has it set up to be pretty simple, IIRC.

I was unaware that jMS had a system. 300 fame is 300 fame but still...ew. :/

You know, it's not just a matter of the quest not being seen. Some of us want the quests listed as done, we know they are there, were there w/e, and it would be nice to know they are in the completed list, and not just no where.

As far as abuse... Oh yeah, let me tell you how badly I want to bring my F/P to OPQ and just pwn for those rewards >_>. I think though, that if they did do this, they should be instanced, but only once per channel to be separate from the original pq, and anyone below the original cap for the pq, can not party with anyone over the max level, and no one below the minimum can get in at all (obvious).

This would allow us to complete our quests, and be able to get future medals. You can take out the end rewards and access to the bonus, that'd be fine, just as long as we can get in, get what we need, get graded, and get out, and yeah, we'd easily get the best grades, but that's not really the point.

The game should be more accessible, and more complete-able. It's so annoying that most of the new content they release is lower leveled, and becomes absolutely inaccessible to those over a certain level. Not to mention they have a confusing quest interface if you ask me. I mean you have quests that can become active before level 30, and by completing them, you ruin your chance of doing quests that you don't even know about till level 50 or so. Most games have a real order for quests, that makes sense, and they tell you when what is available much better.

So, while we're at it, they should take the quest UI, and branch out quests, as you reach the appropriate level. Letting us know that doing certain ones, eliminate access to others, etc. Quests should be accessible, especially in MS, where all the quest rewards suck.

Personally, i think its a great idea. i would love to go back and do all those quests i missed out on. AND, i also think they should do the same for pqs. give people a chance to do quest-related pqs or just get the items that they want/need from them.

The "returning the Maple Island" thing could be iffy, as people would be using Blizzard and crap against Islanders or beginners under level 10.
