Would you rather?
#1
Would you rather not get any new content for 6 months, and have all the content we have now updated or patched up?
Or
Continue to have all the glitches and mistakes which don't really affect the game much, but can still be irritating, and still get new content, which is also glitchy?

Ask me this question again after we get CWK2 and Maker Skill.

Steady stream of content is better than a one day downpour with months of dry climate. To me, anyways.

Depends on how bad future glitches are, of course.

In current situation I would prefer 6 months with no new content, but fix all glitches, hacks, and other bugs in stuff we've already got.

I think you misunderstood the question, and/or he worded it badly :/

He means, would you want to continue receiving possibly glitchy content updates, or to not have any more for 6 months and patch up what we already have?

Damn my English.

Then the glitchy way it is right now.

I can't really think of any glitches that annoy me to the point that I wouldn't want new content for 6 months. I can't even think of any glitches that annoy me.
*wants CWK2*

That, except I don't give a rat's patoote about CWK2. F3

So yeah. I want them to fix the click glitch you get after resizing your chat box. It's super annoying, because I always want to adjust the size for different maps or when I missed something or when I'm feeling more or less chatty.

I want them to fix the autoban system, so it quits banning legits (maybe they should actually test whether it bans legits by doing some beta testing?) and starts banning hackers again.

But I think... I think I want Maker more. Shine

does this include hackers being patched up too? if so, i choose the first one.

I think what he meant with his question is: Would you rather 6 months without new content but with patches that fixed the actual bugs in the game or 6th months full of new content-that-is-also-glitched patches?.
If the first one also included stopping/banning hackers i'd vote for this one.1

i feel that hackers/hacking is outside of the spirit of the question so that won't affect my choice

At any rate i think that having more new content is worth having the little glitches (some misspellings and such) but the big glitches deserve to be fixed immediatly (chair d/c, etc.)

if every 2 weeks (the 2 weeks after a patch) they did a minor (misspellings, glitched quest fixings, etc.) "bug fix" patch instead of a server maint. i'd be really happy true this is 2x the patches which could lead to more glitches but well worth it imo

Redundant question is redundant, 6 months without updates would be suicide for Nexon.

Also, I'd rather have the current patching scheme.

The question is misleading.
It should not take anywhere near six months to fix all the known bugs and glitches in MapleStory (not including hacks). Probably not even a month, unless there are a lot of bugs I don't know of. Capt. Latanica, Weddings, Bob Snale, missing hitboxes, all trivial. The various d/c and autoban glitches might need some work in order to duplicate the problem, but I'm sure if they contact the community there are enough people here who can show them exactly when and how these things happen.

(And before you start with "people think programming is so simple": I'm a professional programmer with over 20 years' experience working on large projects. I know what I'm talking about.)

As for the hacking and wz editing problem: that's a tough one because the malware has access to the original client and data, so it can fake their behavior whenever questioned. Preventing this would require moving a lot more work to the server, overloading it and a lot of people's net connections as well.
It would probably be a lot cheaper, even in the long run, to just hire more GMs and get the players to realize that hacking doesn't pay.
(as I'm typing this, I see the blue HT message appear in my MS window... in Kradia... *sigh*)

it wouldn't take long for hackers to find a way around it but yet another encryption on the wz files would slow them (and isaac/fiel) down for atleast a while

What would be better is if they took one month out the 6 just for a bug fixing/ hack stopping patch. A competent company could do it along with adding new content but we're stuck with Nexon.

Well, it's just a question, not a statement saying that it would actually take 6 months.

Same here. The amount of bugs, glitches and hackers is ridiculous and needs to be attended to asap.

This.

I'd rather them keep doing things the way they're doing it, but put more focus on not fucking up the game so much.
