Marksman Rangefinder/Vital Hunter distance?

Is there any kind of visual guide somewhere as to how far away you have to be from your target to get the most damage out of Rangefinder and Vital Hunter?

Unfortunately no, and therein is a sticking point about the stats involved, as well as monster hitboxes. In general I allow up to one Snipe to miss, then set that as my max range.

I keep trying to hit the furthest, generaly i hit a snipe closer, and keep getting more distance, until the boss is in the limite of my screen or miss it(i use the 1000x800).
