Reboot world discussion and tips

Just letting you all know if the news hasn't already broken out, almost all of Zipangu's monsters from Momijigaoka - Mushroom Shrine - Showa Town are the only ones that drop familiar cards only because they weren't affected by Reboot's drop tables.

Also, other questions on my end that I want to ask are:

1. Where can I get mechanic gear as in engines and such?
   
2. Has anyone tried getting Will of the Alliance quest on their resistance characters? I tried to further the progress on my end but it seemed glitched.
   
3. Refering back to Resistance, are they elgible for emblems and if so, how do they obtain them?
   

1. I found a golden engine while killing mobs (can't remember which ones though).
2. no clue.
3. Boss Arena Emblem. You get after 10 Boss Arena matches.

are there any familiars you can get outside of the momijigaoka ones?

also i didnt know you could do normal honor resets up to legendary

so hard starting over and with many of my fave features disabled. familiars - they have left us a small patch open for us in the japan area. thanks for posting that mp healing one will def get it if i make it that far.

yeah there needs to be a viable way to have a loot pet . Manual is beyond dumb with the number of drops

Even if one is not a quester, looting is essential in Reboot. Even if you scoff at meso bags, potions, and etc drops (that could be NPC'ed for meso), you still need to pick up equips and spell traces (at 5k meso each, it's a crime to leave them behind), and it takes soooo long. I kill a bunch of monsters, and by the time I'm done looting their drops, they've all respawned and ran over to me and are draining my health. And that's not even during 2x drop event.
It's just no fun playing that way. The people who say "pets are just convenience" have no idea.

lack of familiars seems to be half done, but i never until now realised how low the base mp recovery rate was. its like 4 per 10 seconds. if you have 1000mp you would have to stand AFK for 40 minutes to recover it. maybe if i got enough snowpieces for the ice chair?

i think many were hoping for classic maple with the ye olde content. however, reboot seems successful, server looks to be packed.

i will probably go back to my old chars. but i will try to get to 30, since i have gotten to 29 already.

1. Kill a bunch of mobs for 1.5 min
2. Go to a safe platform, turn on pet.
3. Run around looting for <10 s (if your computer is slow, beware of massive lag)
4. Go back to safe platform, and turn off pet.

Your pet should hardly have lost any time. I've done this at Homunculus for several hours, and I've only used up about 10 min.

I don't think people understand the concept of "principle". If it's to be a server where money gives no advantage, then even $1 is too much, if you're practically forced to spend it.

I'm pretty sure the missing familiars are just a bug resulting from us getting KMS drop tables. If they wanted Reboot to not have them and the monster cards (and sets) they'd have removed the Codex itself, too. Codex Cards and Familiar Cards aren't dropping in the normal worlds either, which also points to it being a bug.
But yeah, basic MP recovery is very low. Especially for mages. I'm trying to make a Priest for HS. Last time I did that was pre-BB, I think, and I remember how quickly they recovered MP. Now, though... potions all day. I'm grateful to whoever found the Extra D familiar. (But still hope Nexon will restore our drop tables to what they should be).

BTW, Santa's shop this year has no Ice Chair (same as last year). But I think there are chairs in the Reboot Coin Shop?

I was able to get a firebrand familiar from crimsonwood. Does small amount of hp and mp.

I haven't really had any problems with MP on my I/L. With the burning event, I get more than enough event boxes / lvl which offer those 4k mana dews. Between those and just leveling, I haven't had a problem through lvl100. I guess it will become more annoying as mob damage increases?

I'd really forgotten how crippling not having a pet is. A lot of it is the current server lag which will attenuate with time, but I have a feeling that stopping to loot is going to get me killed a lot at later levels.

I don't feel as strongly as Sapta. Pets are convenient, but we made due for years before without autoloot. A good compromise might be Nexon introducing a moderately difficult way to obtain Hilla pets with a limited lifespan (maybe 30 days)? I'm not sure how common a drop they are with the Reboot drop tables so drastically changed. I'm guessing that daily x2 runs are going to be important just for the normal drop money anyway.

PS. Is anyone else having problems with their snail "losing sight of you"? I don't think I ever had to deal with resummoning it so many times on my other characters...

Showa town seems to be the best option unless you're a Hayato/Kanna who could go inside the high level parts of the storyline.

PS. Is anyone else having problems with their snail "losing sight of you"? I don't think I ever had to deal with resummoning it so many times on my other characters...

I believe all pets do that if you do not regularly feed them those 30meso pet food items. It occurs when fullness drops to zero.

Masteria mobs drop their familiars too, as [MENTION=4878]~MM~[/MENTION] wrote.
I'm not sure whether any other non-KMS areas (such as Singapore or Commerci) ever dropped familiars, but if they did, they still should.

The only mobs in non-kms areas that drop familiars are Zipangu mobs and Phantom Forest/Crimsonwood monsters. The other parts of Masteria, Dawnveil (with the exception of firebrands in the maze, it spawns the Masteria version for some reason), Malaysia, Singapore, and other small areas like Alishan don't drop any familiars.


So, there aren't very many choices in available familiars right now.

Yeah, I think I'm pretty settled on not keeping Mercedes as my main. All this pot lag reminded me we take one, maybe two hits, and need to pot.
Most maps aren't really shaped to support linked skills either; anything with a low platform kills leap tornado, anything with a high platform kills leap/spikes/leap/drive.

Then you're left with just rush to moonsault, which also shits its pants if you're in a map with someone else and your push fails because they had mob control.

Not forgetting that due to the massive lag, mob luring fails very badly for me once I'm not alone in the map, because their very presence upsets the mob movement and control e.g. even after hitting the mobs, they don't follow me.

Not if you are giving up and going back to your normal character. As someone who lives in Australia, I know the hell of trying to manually loot anything. As such, having a pet is a must have for me but I have no problem paying such a small amount of money for a pet that now comes with loot pickup for free.
