Nexon Activity - Holiday Season 2014-2015

Hey Maplers!

As many of you are undoubtedly aware, winter is here at long last! With this comes a season of spending time with those close to us - family, friends, and colleagues - as well as a time of high spirits and good cheer!

I wanted to take this chance to inform you of MapleStory's planned activity throughout the remainder of this year's holiday season, and on into the New Year. Please see below for a quick outline of our plans for the next few weeks.

• There will be no scheduled maintenance for the week of December 21st - December 27th, or for the week of December 28th - January 3rd. Please note that this is for scheduled (planned) maintenances, and, in the event of any emergencies, we will have teams at the ready to take charge for any unscheduled maintenance that may come about over the holiday break.
  
• There will be less Nexon staff activity across all Nexon forums, including MapleStory. If you have any glaring issues, the Forum Volunteers and various Customer Support staff members will be able to take any issues into account and get in touch with myself or another staff member in-case of emergencies.
  
• There will be less activity on the MapleStory Twitter and Facebook during this time - if you haven't followed us on Twitter and liked us on Facebook, do so here: Facebook | Twitter
  
• Customer Support Agents and our in-game GM staff will still be hard at work over the break - if you need to contact Customer Support, you may do so as you would have in the past, and please take note that our GMs are still around.

We thank you all for your understanding as we step back from our keyboards and take time to travel and visit with our loved-ones. We look forward to returning for what looks to be an awesome year ahead for MapleStory and Nexon as a whole!

Wouldn't be a holiday season without one.

That's a first that they've publicly announced that they'll be out these next two weeks, though unlike the past, it seems that they are a bit more prepared for any game breaking issue that needs to be taken care of immediately.

I wonder if they have any 2x events planned throughout these next two weeks though. I would like some 2x, especially during the Christmas day (I miss those all day 2x events back in the old, old days) since I have nothing planned.

EDIT: Speaking of broken things, I can't login via Steam anywhere. The game will crash after HackShield and NGS splashes.

This announcement reminds me of people putting a big sign on their fence saying there's an alarm connected to some security center thing, when they don't actually have it. They just hope it'll deter burglars.

Remember that Christmas with the exploding trees and vac hackers grabbing all the gold snowflakes? Remember -Hime- logging on in the middle of the holiday to say that GMs will be patrolling and banning at Christmas Hill? Those GMs were about as real as Santa.

I don't think their GMs were outsourced at the time. We don't know how efficient the outsourced GM team is with this kind of stuff, we don't even know if they have any breaks like the actual Nexon staff do. Though I do have some doubt that there will actually be any GMs patrolling over these next two weeks, it does feel a bit as if they were saying they had an alarm when they don't. But who knows?

Train and manage the outsourced GM team work flow with game related tasks. Including: in-game training, tools training and communications regarding present and future issues.

So, the lag which is still there is unacknowledged at all?

Things would be the same regardless of the Nexon staff being there or not.

oh I can't wait to see what gift the hackers have ready for maplestory this year.
