Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion
Today's pic of the day was funny. I wish Sakurai would post these kinds of screenshots more often

BOARD GAME MODE? That could be awesome.

It sounds fun with those new features. When I first read board game mode, I immediately thought that they're going to add some Mario Party esque into it. Quite a possibility?

Quote:United States retailer Toys R Us is currently offering a free amiibo figure with the purchase of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The special promotion is only valid online and while supplies last, and it cannot be combined with other orders. Here’s how it works.
The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U game and one amiibo figure must be added to the online cart individually. During the checkout process, the price of the amiibo figure will be reduced to $0.00. It’s a free amiibo, amigo! Each amiibo has a suggested retail price of $12.99 — although prices may vary between retailers — so this is a terrific way to take advantage of a great deal. In addition to this offer, free shipping is included.

So... did i grow out of smash or something? This new one is incredibly boring.

I've played Melee and Brawl in ye olden times, but theres no spark there for me playing this new one. Spam smash attacks till you win or fall off the stage = entire game...? + the circle pad on the 3ds feels like absolute crap control for the actual game.

yes im bashing it, but i just feel like i've fallen out of the crowd that seems to be a popular game thats just not syncing with me at all :|

Either you're only playing computers or I have to assume the people you're playing suck. Smash attacks are virtually worthless, especially if you're spamming them.

Have you tried playing some people on southperry?

You should try smash run, it's really fun with real people (computers sucks and you can't adjust their levels)

Well... What did you expect? A gamecube controller? I'm still adamant in my conclusion that the 3DS isn't really meant to handle a game like Smash, and that's one of the main reasons I'm waiting it out until the Wii U version

I think Smash for 3DS is a good game to play on the go. The controls may be a little difficult and strange, but it won't be a huge deal in about a month!

You should play some games with the members of this forum. If all else fails, there's Kong Cyclone Smile

Honestly, i'd expect someone to play test early and have a revelation.
''wow, this controls like pomegranate, lets rethink a 3ds version''

Guess it wasn't possible. Or they are just desperate to make money at this point with their losses.

This sounds like an attitude of "others can't possibly have fun with this if i'm not having fun!"

There are those of us who actually are enjoying this game and are not having ANY issues with the controls. But no... we that have fun with it dont count for squat or something?

I still don't understand how people can break their circle pads from smash, me and friends have smashed for over 100 hours and our 3ds are still intact.

I think it was more that they thought the 3DS would have been a good time to try and make a portable Smash.

Just because you suck at it doesn't mean it's bad. The controls feel a bit awkward for the first couple of hours or so, but once you get used to it they're fine. Sure they're not as precise as they would be with a real controller, but you trade that off for the ability to play the game literally anywhere you can take the console.

And I take it you think this wasn't a good time to make one?

Why not?

I mean, lack of a second stick and no CPPro support is a terrible decision, but there's nothing else wrong with it.

I'm fine with it, I was moreso responding to a few posts above. Probably should have quoted that.

In my personal opinion, it's the most fun I've had playing Smash since the days I was a young teenager playing Melee. It's hard for me to put it down. Sure, it's not the most extensive Smash experience, lacking a lot of modes, but that's because of the hardware limitations of the Nintendo 3DS. You can't expect massive amounts of content on such a device when, as it is, it takes up so much memory and processing power already. I personally feel the controls are much tighter and more responsive than with Melee or Brawl, after having gone back and playing both games in the past couple of days, and the physics are a nice mix of the two. Sure, it's not a perfect middle ground, it has its flaws like anything else, but it's a fun experience in its core. I just think most people have too high of an expectation for it to be a Melee 2.0 that they can't see past their utter perfection desires.

TL;DR : I'm in love with the new Smash Bros and I can't wait for the Wii U version.

i hate this game because it's made me realize i can't do tilts for pomegranate.

more like i knew i couldn't do tilts, but this game i actually want to learn to play -good- rather than just play it for kicks and tilts are just treating me awful. i need some sempai for game mechanics ._.
