That's a terrible justification; not because it isn't true, but because it has nothing to do with applying fallacious comparisons in order to discredit a group. Last time I checked, none of the GamerGate supporters killed anyone.

How is that even remotely relevant? #Gamergate is not about oppressing women.

As conversation is essentially a form of communication between people,
if you don't help the other side understand what you're talking about,
you shouldn't just carry on talking one sidedly. Then no understanding can rise from it.

You should pay more attention to this entire thing, #Gamergate is not about oppressing women, as others have said. Go read or watch the videos that were posted in this thread last week, and you will understand the pro-gamergate arguments.

got Intel to stop buying ad spots on GamaSutra because they thought this article is... overly critical of the exact people you say aren't part of GamerGate? That article isn't being critical of anyone, it's blatantly insulting the gaming community as a whole, and if you can't see that for what it is you need to wake up.

As for what GamerGate is about... there's a video one or two pages back that summarizes it in about a minute or two. Just go watch that. Otherwise, there's literally this entire thread jammed with information, articles, and videos pertaining to this very matter. This isn't about some girl's sex life, hating women, or threatening people who don't agree with our views. It's about video game journalism being wiped clean of the bullpomegranate it's been hiding for years.

That assumes the majority of Gamergate's opposition aren't sexists and racists who take every opportunity to discredit and demean the women and minorities who support it. Nice to know from America's 'finest' that Asians can't think for themselves and need acceptance from white men to play games!
