How the pineapple do you dodge Bains?
#1
I'm planning to do my Zak Pre-quests soon. (not for zhelm buying... yet Wink) But this is the only thing in my way. They don't appear to be a thing you can jump over, and the last Cave of Trial has a flat area with the Bains walking over it, and no platforms over it.

Oh, and Dead Mine Scrolls don't solve this, obviously.

just gotta have enough HP to take 1 hit, and run through, or try CCing and hoping for the best.

Other methods include VIP teleport rocks, getting a priest to door you up there, or a spearman to HB you through, or bringing a high enough level friend to kill any bains in your path for you.

They do something like 2k damage, right?

Sounds right. And yea, what Deviant said is about it as far as getting through them. I could survive when my crusader was a 5x/6x fighter. Your best bet is to find a priest/bishop who would be willing to (or try and find a zrun forming in El Nath and see if they'd be nice enough to door you to the altar real quick).

The easiest thing to do would be to get a friend who can survive bain hits. Get them to lure those things out of the way for you, that's all I can think of at the moment that's the most 'convenient'. (At least for me if I were in your general situation.)

if happyville is still open and you can still do the transformation pot quest thing you can just do that, hope to get the Sophia transformation and zip through all 3 Zak quests

Wait, what does a transformation have to do with anything? Isn't it that when you get hit, you poof out of your transformation? I don't see how it'll help...

Doesn't solve much. My connection is iffy at times, so I don't really want to do that every time I want to go to Bains, since I only have 9 or 10 of them. I'd rather save them for ZJQ.

The Sophilia transform is invincible.

The sophia transformation gives you godmode, for lack of a better term. But you walk incredibly slowly.

Last question. If you cc or logout in the Door to Zakum, will you respawn in the Door, or will you be back before the Caves of Trial?

You will go back to the Passage which is before the cave of trials.

Ok, then, might as well drop this and perhaps wait till 6x.
Thanks for your answers!

There's always good ol' hp equipment.

I would need at least 200-300 HP, possibly 350, to even equal the damage.

By the time I'm 6x, emergency rescue tube will probably be it.

My suggestion is to tank up a bit so you have enough hp to sustain one hit from bains. Or as Deviant pointed out, get a friend to help you kill the Bains in the path.
