Honestly this is what SAO SHOULD have been, even if you hate it, I really really reccomend you watch the full series it's frekin hilarious

Honestly I tried SAO, but it was blatently obvious what I got myself into after episode 1. Seriously that's how flat it fell from the get go. You have a main character who tries to play the lone wolf persona and instantly makes anything with a vagina fall in love with him because of his "skill" and "sasuke-esque" personality without the whole "I WANT TO MURDER EVERYONE". The very character is a trope of "wannabe bad assery". He had this atmosphere of being a douchebag because he knew he was better than you, but tried so hard to be humble about it.
But Asuna was the greatest tragedy at all. They killed her character off as soon as she found out his name. After that it was "I can cook for you" and "I cosplay as princess peach". It would have been different if she taught herself how to cook because Kirito actually inspired her from feeding her that bread with some condoment, but come to find out she's some master chef irl. She completely loses her backbone and any redeemable qualities at all. You want to watch a real female protagonist, go watch Kill La kill, those two charactes were fantastic.
But even disregarding every goddamn character flaw, and trust me I just covered those because I don't have the patience to cover the other frekin 12 "one episode introduction than dissapear" personalities, you have a character that surpasses god because of will power? He himself becomes a "glitch" from sheer will? That was plot armor with a different name. Not ONLY that, but why the hell would the main antagonist even KILL them, he literally just finished explaining he made a "chosen one" to combat him at the end, then finish the ENTIRE thing based off a "Der hur, well I guess you found me out, let me kill you now then!". I mean, jesus, the only other redeemable quality was the animation and somewhat interesting combat scenes (until that point) even though it was just becoming asuna/kirito soloing everything with a GM, and they even stripped that half way in just to say "Oh kirito, you have surpassed the equilavent of god by your sheer "chosen one" strength, only to expand on the least liked aspect of the story, the frekin middle school romance. Seriousuly we had an entire arc of incest to rescue sleeping beauty against some deranged ceo who made it into a fetish series.
Oh and f`ucking fairies.

I did watch SAO, all of season 1 (dont know why).
I think aincrad was a good start to it (except the sheeetty cabin scenes). Thats when i thought the series had some potential to it.
But someone decided to pineapple it up and finish Aincrad early, thus starting the worst piece of pomegranate in anime history. It was so bad my eyes fell out and i question myself everyday why i watched the 2nd arc of the series
I dont even bother watching season 2 now because of that pineapple up, they'll probably do another one..
One more thing, hence the anime is called "SWORD ART ONLINE". It should be entirely based on SWORD ART ONLINE and not ALO or GGO bullshit
so why they had to pineapple up the series, im not so sure.

I don't think it really helped that the aincrad arc for the LN was all over the place. The anime did a fairly good job piecing it together I think.
ALO arc was better written story progression wise but the anime skipped some rather key parts for later.
GGO arc is really short and it feels more sidestory.
Upcoming mother's rosario is a feels arc, another sidestory.
I haven't begun to start on the latest though.
I do agree it was way overhyped. If you took the hype away then its fine I guess.

When I got into SAO I thought it would be an anime about how it would be like to live inside a MMORPG and that It would depict a lot of elements from the huge industry of MMORPG. As I watched the first episodes I realized it was more about its own story with some MMO elements here and there which was disappointing but still acceptable, but as I kept watching they started to leave more game aspects out of the frame to focus more and more on the main characters story, up to the day it abruptly ends when Kirito defeats the GM and saves everyone, thats where whatever good aspects of the story end. The second arc makes no sense at all "hey I'm kirito and I'm gonna defeat this guy who is one of the highest ranked, with some of the best equipment using only my beginner gear..." it totally pomegranates on what MMORPGs are like for the sake of developing Kirito as the tipical shounen main character that everyone can rely on and can accomplish anything with enough will power.
It if had focused on depicting a lot more on the MMORPG aspects, alongside the "we have to get to the 100th floor or we all die in real life" story the whole thing, it would have been perfect, at least for me. I gotta admit I watched the whole thing back in the day and I'm even watching season II right now but... its only as a pastime. Its like the guy above says, when you know what to expect from the show you don't get disappointed and enjoy it for whats left.

The second arc he basically hacked to win. He couldn't win himself. Also at the start his stats carried over thanks to obligatory plot device.

Stats mean nothing without good equipment in any MMORPG. He basically beat a whole party in that dungeon and then that guy leader of one of the 4 factions with fucking beginner gear. I can accept what happened in the end battle but everything else was fucking stupid. At least in GGO he wins a crapload of money and then buys high level equipment before proceeding to beat everyone's ass.

That's true however stats were the big thing in ALO. Gear helps. Of course legendary equipment should win. It's sorta like mabinogi I guess?

Just some more information for you guys -
The event is free once a day, and then further guaranteed entries will require a small NX purchase. However, similar to JMS, the reward box given at the end of each attempt of the Normal Dungeon has pretty decent chance to reward 3-5 SAO Coins.
The Normal Dungeon costs 3 SAO Coins to participate in, while the Premium Dungeon costs 5 SAO Coins. However, the Premium dungeon offers better rewards, and the chance to receive 5-7 SAO coins from the reward box.
As you can see, there's a pretty good chance that you will be able to participate multiple times on a few days during the course of the event.

Blaze Wizard revamp is not important enough to be in the "update highlight notes"?
Or were they still unsure it would be ready for release next week, when they wrote the highlights?
Or did the many complaints about "filler patch" convince them to move it up a month?
Either way, assuming it is ready and tested (as well as NexonNA ever test things, anyway), it would be good to have.
Now... are they going to increase the character slot limit?

Yeah thats really confusing, why not highlight the new revamped character just a little bit? They're probably just pushing the SAO event heavily. I don't think they rushed this out, personally I think they've been sitting on the revamp and delaying it for later but because of the feedback they received they're putting it out earlier.

This is how the whole series goes, right up to the end. Up against someone that controls the rules of the game? We'll beat them with the power of love and friendship. Happens every single fucking time Kirito can't power his way right through.

Was this planned or more of a "let's release BW already so they can shut up and be happy, it was already done anyways" after all the negative feedback the SAO event got? This is not the case. This has been on track to be in this updated for many months now. We chose to talk about SAO first, which led to a lot of people being angry about a "lack of content".
So I spoke with the team and we decided to just go ahead and start letting you guys in on some other things that will be coming next week. However, the reason it's not in the highlights is because we highlighted SAO, and we only do one highlight per update.
Hope you guys are happy with this!
Edit: I'll provide more information on what else is coming as it becomes available. Source: http://forum2.nexon.net/showthread.php?1...799&nxid=6

Very funny. You may not know it because you're new, Artasi, but update highlights are usually a lot more than one.
Why, just the previous update's highlights included Hieizan Temple, Kritias, Jett revamp, Red Leaf High, and the Bounty Hunter event.

I don't even take being new as an excuse, being the new Forum staff, you'd think he'd look over past highlights before saying they only focus on one thing in a highlight.

I think he means, once they've chosen on some thing(s) to highlight, they're not going to do another one or change the one they've released.

It is obvious this is their getaway to get people satisfied in case they werent happy with SAO/just SAO. She just can't really explain it so they made that excuse up.
