Quote:pineapple it, I'm just gonna put it out there:Likely also bullshit. I can't imagine they would keep characters locked like that until you buy both versions, that is just weird. If working models of those 4 characters HAVE been seen, then I suppose we'd find it soon enough when someone hacks the games code.

That's not even what they're called in Rhythm heaven (it should be chorus kids), so that's an incredibly easy alarm bell for fake leaks. edit: lol, just seen the neogaf post that came from. The guy is going to be banned when it turns out it isn't true. edit again: Apparently smash run isn't even online? As if I could get any more indifferent about the mode. https://twitter.com/Sora_Sakurai/status/...3953079298

I knew that the roster was complete the whole time. Just because the character select screen isn't a perfect square doesn't mean that there'd be more characters.
People just wanted to have hope for their desired character that they wanted to be in.

Pretty content with the full roster, even with it being a little disappointing.
At least I got my main man Doc back! Quote:People just wanted to have hope for their desired character that they wanted to be in. The real reason people get emotional over smash is because if your favourite character got cut or didn't make it in, you've probably got to wait 6 years before they even get another shot.

I am truly getting sick of the Ridley pomegranate.
He is not most peoples "dream character". Sure some people might legitimately want him as a playable character but the majority of people saying stuff like "RIDLEY CONFIRMED, RIDLEY FOR SMASH, OMG RIDLEY" and seeing hints at Ridley in everything are just hangers on who probably don't even know who Ridley is other than being some kind of purple space dragon from Metroid. The only reason people care is because it has reached meme status. Sitting through those leaks today was made absolutely painful by the bullpomegranate focus on a character we already have confirmed is simply a boss again. They say Sakurai has been hinting at Ridley a lot. How? by showing Ridley's shadow and saying he "shows up from time to time" on that stage? by making an offhand comment about characters not being to scale? The damn character showed up as a boss 4 times in the story mode of Brawl, more than any other. As far as i'm concerned that is more than enough representation for a character that simply wouldn't work as a playable fighter. I see no campaigns for Rayquaza in smash, despite him being a dragon who showed up as a boss as well. This is my first time getting hyped for a smash game (Brawl was my first) and ever since this game has been announced i've been getting steadily more and more sick to death of hearing about Ridley all the time. That being said, I would prefer Ridley to Dark Pit. what on earth is the point of that character?

I find it funny people are bashing on dark pit despite seeing extremely little to literally NO gameplay of him... can we at least wait until everyone's custom moves are all unlocked and dissected before we pass judgment on whether a character was a waste of space? Clone or not.
Also, to my knowledge, it works like this: Doctor Mario -> Plays like Melee mario Dark Pit -> Plays like Brawl Pit Both have been revised fairly heavily since their previous installment(s), pit moreso than mario. It kinda makes sense to make a clone of them to keep their previous playstyles alive.

Clone or not. Dark Pit doesn't play like brawl Pit, he has the same moves as smash4 Pit, although I heard he has a different final smash.

I haven't seen Dark Pit's moveset, but a lot of stuff I've been reading has people saying his "B moves" are the same "B Moves" as Brawl Pit. Guess we'll find out for sure soon enough anyways. Doc definitely has the Melee build to him though, which is rather nice.

Razmos Wrote:Likely also bullshit. I call bullshit purely on the basis of the requirements. This is Nintendo and Sakurai we're talking about here. DLC is not actually out of the question at this point (it has been over a year and Nintendo is growing more open to it), but the company that is consistently staying away from nickel-and-diming its customers and has a track record of wanting to provide a complete experience from the get go is not the company to force its consumers to buy an additional system and an additional game just to unlock all of the content. The closest they have ever edge towards this is Pokemon, but that's a series where the entire point is to force you to play with others, not to encourage you to buy two games. Takebacker Wrote:99% |
