Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion

That would've been awesome.

I hope Smash 4 isn't too floaty, I didn't mind it in Brawl that much but after playing Melee again I realised how much it slowed stuff down. At this point I'm mostly looking forward to seeing really good players fighting, since all of the gameplay I've seen so far has been of people who have only had access to the game for a few hours at most. I imagine once people get the hang of it and learn how to do some combos it'll be a lot more impressive to watch.

Lozmaster Wrote:Yeah. Apparently it turns out this isn't true after all (if I'm not completely failing to understand the below japanese). Smash 3ds doesn't support the circle pad pro. What the hell nintendo?
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/hardware/a...index.html

(Last line is something about Super smash bros not being supported).

First line : ※Newニンテンドー3DS/New 3DS LLは、拡張スライドパッドに対応しておりません

"The New 3DS/New 3DS XL does not correspond to the expansion slider pad."

It works with the new 3DS' slider pad, but not the old. Therefore, the information in the Nintendo Direct is still correct. It works, but only if you get the new console. Laziness OP.

I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or not. That's exactly what I said, the post I quoted was Locked suggesting it had circle pad pro support, not the new 3DS analogue support.

Apparently you can select custom moves on the Character Select Screen, which I guess is convenient.

It was insinuated in the direct but it seems they made a special exception for Smash 4 for a quick cash grab.

All the info compiled conveniently in one place!

Meta Knight has a Galacta Knight alt (not a recolour, an actual alt like Shulk's swimsuit alt)

(he still uses his sword though, not that lance)

I was. The point was to solidify the fact that they allow the New 3DS to use the features, but not the old 3DS+expansion.

AKB48... Idols into battle?

(as I said earlier, the AKB48 Mii's come preloaded into the game)
Oh Japan, never change.

Zipzo (the guy over at SmashBoards who's sharing info about the 3DS final build) is current hosting an AMA over at his twitch channel, zipzo62, if anyone's interested. Dunno if he's still in there but M2K challenged Zipzo to a match when the game comes out in Japan lol.

"Pic of the day. This is what the view looks like within the Vault. YourTrophies collection will start off with one randomly selected trophy. In your Album, you can view pictures you've taken of fighters posing. Photos taken with the 3D Depth Slider on will take photos in stereoscopic 3D, and photos will be in 2D when they're taken with that feature turned off."

Hey, replays are back! Hopefully they're not restricted to matches that are 3 minutes or less this time.

One thing from Melee I wish they brought back: The giant trophy table. From that Pic of the Day one can assume it won't be in this game.

I don't know if it was the 3DS or Wii U version (or both), but that feature is 100% explicitly shown in one of the smash bros directs. I just can't remember which, I'm assuming it's the really long 40 minute one.

Was it? I must have missed it. I usually don't have time to watch the directs and then forget about them later.

From the way that Pic of the Day was shown it seems like it might be Wii U exclusive, which is whatever because I'll probably end up playing the Wii U version much more in the end anyway.

Menu of The Day Returns!

"Pic of the day. In Classic mode, a roller spins before every stage to determine your reward. Rewards in red are for customization, green ones are trophies, and yellow means precious gold. Of course, if you raise the intensity, the abundance of these rewards will increase quite a bit, too. You can be rewarded in every stage, so in that way this mode might be a little more generous compared to previous games in the series."

"And here's the results screen. It shows what you gained in each stage, but you won't be rewarded until you clear it all. If you mess up in the middle, you can lose some of them too. The fighter icons are special attacks, and icons like the shield are equipment. The icons that say Mii on them are hats and clothes for Mii characters. Icons that show characters on a stand are trophies, of course, and the coins are gold you earned."

Pretty cool that you get rewarded for each stage I suppose. WHAT'S WITH ALL THE MENUS

This was a little more than just a menu.

I guess, but I'm really just expecting some bombshells in the final days before the japanese release... I guess he's gonna pull a brawl and just leave characters in there for everyone to find out about on their own.
