Because I specifically said that at the beginning of the day, and I'm pretty sure Shidoshi is a ASOIAF fan, so I hit them right in the gut if they are legitimately a doctor.





I was trying to hold off comment towards Shidoshi's role, mostly because I've been defending them too much as it is...but I'm inclined to believe them, at least in regards to off/on days. Maester Aemon is an old, blind man. It would make sense for his ability to be non-daily. Is he (half) the doctor though? I dunno. All I'm saying is that I can see an off/on for Aemon because of who he is.




I want to bring the discussion back to Luv, since it has basically died down. I didn't respond to the below sooner because I didn't want to split the conversation in two.





I specifically told Luv to defend themselves with facts and instead, we got a post that is utterly and completely pointless (and further makes him mafia in my book, I mean, "I was just playing like a normal person"? What does that even mean), and also a post that repeats the obvious.

I just want to point out that these kinds of posts would nearly seal the deal on being mafia for anyone else, and are often used to call out players but everyone ignored them on Luv.

I agree with you. I just checked about Shidoshi said whether to vote for Niernen or you, and it was literally just saying he was still deciding.

Whereas, I, did give a valid reason why I suggested TheBirds in the first place. He was being inactive, and that's pretty scary as well.

First; Instead of addressing the fact that I was "biting on your foot" other than just an acknowledgement, you say something that makes absolutely no sense. How does a "normal person" play? Everyone has a unique playstyle, that excuse makes absolutely no sense.

Second; Your reasoning for voting off TheBirds is inactivity...except you yourself were inactive on Day 1. You admit to it yourself!

Third; Basically your only reason for voting TheBirds is inactivity, something we've established he does in every game. He admitted he doesn't really get active until the third day because that's when we really have information about how the game will work and such. So you lynch him on the guise of inactivity...on a self proclaimed early-inactive. You're kidding me right?

Fourth; You're clearly trying to influence voting by trying to push someone into voting someone they're not so sure of. What is that?

Fifth; You're doing a lot of stating the obvious.
"I don't know who townies are." Why would you?
"I didn't know TheBirds was townie." If you're town, obviously, or you wouldn't have voted for them.

Sixth; I specifically ask you to provide us something other than your typical appeals, and you do your typical appeals anyway. Facts don't have to be things we believe but things about what you believed at the time. If you solely believed inactivity was the only reason to lynch someone, after three or four, if not more, of us were explicitly against an inactive lynch, then you're destructive towards the town, regardless of your alignment.

Bonus Seventh; Here comes the solo meta-game here; I remember a certain overreaction when you were a suspect last game. But you didn't overreact on the first game you were in when people were suspicious of you, you kinda just accepted it and went with it.

Polantaris makes a compelling argument though so I'm inclined to vote luv for today. And there's no point in saving mafia the work of killing shidoshi if he is indeed telling the truth.

Sorry, I haven't been explaining myself very well here.

I'm trying to say that Shidoshi set himself up with a sort of multi-threaded Catch-22. We're forced to either lynch him blind and risk losing our only doctor or reveal another powerful role like doctor or cop to prove/disprove his identity. Even if someone confirmed his identity, he's useless half the time and not worth saving by any other powerful abilities.

So we can either lynch him as a suspected mafioso and hope that no other Maester Aemon claimed because they wanted to remain hidden or let him live for a night. If we chose not to lynch him, it proves nothing. He is powerless tonight so the mafia could leave him alive and then turn our suspicions on him tomorrow for a lynch or simply kill a somewhat powerful town member and call it a win.

I can't see a good way forward in this situation for the town unless Niernen's theory is correct and that's a crap shoot at best at this point.

On the subject of even night healers, maybe Melisandre can give the breath of life to someone? She's the only possibility I can think of and the extreme effort of reviving someone might explain an even night limitation.

Is it just me or do a lot of things in this game just seem...weird? Unexpected? Pokemon mafia was the first game that I didn't die kind of early in that I had a chance to actually actively play, so the majority of my reference comes from there, but...a lot of things just seem different. I think Meta and Mas are the only real constants here in my eyes, but I'm admittedly rather bad at reading both of them.

Shidoshi early claiming like this doesn't seem characteristic.

Luv is both playing the same as last game and different at the same time, if that makes sense? Most of Luv's posts are the same emotional/nonsensical things as last game, and I'm inclined to believe they're scum because of that. But I'm hesitant because I still don't know if that's completely accurate; honestly it could just be Luv naturally not really knowing what to do/say. And there are some posts that seem like they're trying a bit harder than they did last game? Which isn't really indicative of anything, but it's different. I agree with Polantaris in saying that behavior like this would normally be a death sentence for a player. And in this case it probably should be. Maybe it's just the cautious side of me holding me back here.

Meow's playing very similarly to last game. But based on the posts they've Pineappled and admitting to trying to lay low, it makes me think there's more to it than that. I'm not really sure what they're trying to go for, really.

Admittedly, Olsi's survivalism on day 1 is nothing new. I'm pretty sure he's done it before in past games too. But his intentions are aligning with Luv's, to an extent, and I don't trust that.

I've already said Verrkol's comments on shidoshi's claim felt odd. I still don't quite understand that whole thing.

Polantaris seemed very similar to how they played last game. Active, reasonable, somewhat cautious. But that last post looked like he was channeling Kyra or something and I didn't expect that from them. I fully agree with most of what they said, but that post is kind of the reason I wanted to make this post and point out what I thought felt weird to me.

Salguod and CJ I'm still pretty clueless on.

Niernen I don't know well enough to say much on either, but the longer posts I don't think I would necessarily expect either?


Again, a lot of this could just stem from misconceptions on my part. And I'm not saying these differences are necessarily indicative of anything scummy (unless I explicitly stated so); I'm still trying to figure that part out. I just felt like a lot of this game has been throwing me off a bit.

I'll wrap up my final thoughts for the day and probably vote in the next few hours.

I am still not sure why Shidoshi claimed so early, but so be it. I can see VerrKol's point about it possibly being a trap-and played right it could be an amazing mafia tactic, but we can't really risk lynching a pretty vital role. Unfortunately because of his expressions against Shidoshi he will be a likely target in the future. The votes on Luv may be the best way to go. It would take an extra day or two to grasp Luv's intentions and tell if he is mafia or not.

I know y0y0y0y0shi0 (and possible others) feels pretty clueless about me, but it probably is because I am playing pretty clueless. I am having to trust others to being information about possible abilities and characters since I am pretty clueless about GoT. This is making it hard to see if they are being helpful or trying to curry favor. Given this I don't want to vote this early, since knowing day two shenanigans, someone will likely come out with information at the last minute.

It's my time to claim now. I'm Pyp, (I guess it's short for Pypar, I think), and I'm the Follower in this game. The name of the role wasn't really obvious, but I managed to find it in MafiaScum. I can check whether people have special abilities or not. The problem is that I can't determine whether what powers do they have, it's either present or absent. On the last night, I checked on MasPan, and I found him to have special abilities. I don't know what special abilities though.

You can always choose to not believe me, but I'm really telling the truth about everything.

One more thing, I'm kinda frustrated for not knowing GoT well. I practically didn't understand the role after reading it. I had to ask HP to elaborate further.

Actually, after rereading MafiaScum, I'm not sure what am I called either. Reporter? Follower? The only thing is that I only know the person I targeted has a power or not. I don't know what power or who did that person target.

I don't really doubt LuvD's role. The thing is that role serves the Mafia much better than the Town. As a townie, knowing who "has a power" doesn't really help a whole lot.
As far as a fake name claim, that could be provided with his Role PM.

The best lies have a mixture of truth to them.

I think Mas has a good observation about our deceased compatriots, but I would hesitate to call them "strong" compared to our recent claimants. I'm guessing the majority of us have some sort of ability, but it's limited in scope which would be consistent with everything claimed so far. (and a nice change compared to pokemafia)

As usual, Luv is sowing confusion about his role and powers which I find incredibly annoying, but I'm not sure that it gets me any closer to deciding his faction.
