The website that article is from is a satire news site, like The Onion. The SWAT team break in and pomegranate is 100% real, but the alleged perp that got sentenced to 25+ years isn't. It's not that 99% of news and pomegranate is fake, it's just that you didn't check your source first. They're still trying to find the pimento that did it. I'm also pretty sure that the streamer's father was not harmed in any way.

I was running on 30 hours of reading gamergate threads at the time, I was ready to believe anything beneficial at that point ;_;
It's really digusting that satire sites like this are a thing. Like, I get that it's supposed to be a comedy thing, but in reality, it's just spreading even more false information into a huge cloud of already questionable material. Maybe if they had a large disclaimer at the top of every page it would be OK.

Clickbait only works on people dumb enough to not have adblock/noscript/etc on by default for non-whitelisted sites, but I guess there are a lot of those people.

They would only gain a "view" if you had those things active, not the actual ad revenue. They probably get something out of views, but not as much as from the ads, right?
