At first I disliked Kai, but now I feel that he has redeemed himself.
As for the rest of it, wow was that epic. Those deaths were intense. But I wonder, why didn't they kill Zaheer? They had the opportunity.
I feel sorry for Korra at the end, having to be in a wheelchair. Watch the people who dislike Korra find SOMETHING to complain about now, since they always do.
for the same reason Bleach never killed Aizen... self-righteous, can't stoop to their level, shoulda-took-his-airbending-away, BS! but whatever... leave him alive to break out of jail again. queue Joker Theme Song. as for the assumed deaths of The Red Lotus members; NOOO Nick can't show the death scene of exploding head; or melted alive... but technically they could both be disfigured. zaheer wasnt anywhere close to visually-see her head blown off,

Mako redirected lightning at Amon when he was about to take away his bending.
I certainly didn't expect this. I was hoping for a big cliffhanger and a continuation of the Red Lotus. The team has done an amazing job on this season finale and I'm really glad that Tenzin isn't dead. I didn't expect three Red Lotus members to die. Mako redirecting lightning was totally expected when he jumped down in the water because Ming-Hua was just too strong at that point. Zaheer isn't dead, but in prison. What if he escapes again? Not to mention he has unlocked weightlessness like Guru Laghima and he can enter the Spirit World. And there might be more Red Lotus members out there. I wonder why Korra was crying at the end. Maybe because Jinora resembled Aang to her or because she was happy of Jinora getting her tattoos? Korra entered the void because she can't do anything now while she is recuperating and the Air Nation able to help her duties.

I like that the show has a dark side and isn't just a "kids show" as can be seen with the deaths in this season. I hope this stays in Book 4. Now what could they come up with in Book 4 after seeing the season finale? It's the last season and I remember reading that an animator cried several episodes into Book 4. So far we haven't seen the Fire Nation yet, right? And the Fire Lord (Zuko's daughter). Interesting.
So, anyone know a site other than Utube and the nick website that will allow me to watch this in japan?
Utube quality sucks, and nick region blocks me.

Have you tried using Hola? It works for me when I visit the US site of Nick.com, but I download my The Legend of Korra episodes at sites where you can get other stuff.
Takebacker Wrote:Why has zaheer and his squad not "won" until now then? They're using some bending powers that literally the entire avatar universe has never seen before. Zaheer can travel to the spirit world, and he's clearly a master of tactics and a smooth talker. All of those reasons should be enough to consider them competent both in battle and in strategy, yet they've failed to capture the avatar in 100% of their tries, losing to the various "weaker" benders during the metal city's events, as well as strategically losing to the f'ucking earth queen of all people.
I've never thought zaheer and his men to be competent. They're badass as hell, but not very competent.
tbh I attributed all of their success to P'Li; she practically carried them in every operation.
it was definitely a sadness tear; maybe she hasnt told anyone her bending is gone?
how exactly DO you imprison someone who can enter the spirit realm?
mako is only allowed to fight using lightning in season finales
the strongest villains of Korra's career are "all" taken out, after 13 episodes; some baddies need longevity. especially when you know you're doing multiple books. kid zuko had character development and direct involvement in the growth of the hero-team. all these other villains might as well be MOTW. Nick team doesnt have to save the best fights for the final episodes... it leaves a lot more disappointment in what 'could have been' than grandstanding commendation.
im not sure why they gave up on friday night TV broadcast, or, why they kept releasing double episodes... rushing Korra feels like they're KILLING the show, not digging in deep for the long duration. Aang lasted 3 seasons, 61 episodes including the 4 part movie-finale; while Korra has 3 seasons and only 39 episodes. they cut out the fluff-non-plot episodes, but, it seems short & rushed. They skipped over a huge generation, which could have left plenty of room for backstory & flash backs; like Anime/Manga would have done in its place; so really im confused as to what they're trying to do with the story.

I think he couldn't lightning bend for a while because Lightning is heavily tied to emotions in fire bending. He was kinda just a nervous emotional wreck this season (internally) and probably resolved it at the end. That's all hypothetical of course, so next best guess is it wasn't relative to the plot at that point

The animation in this finale was AMAZING. The fight choreography echoed Season 3 of Avatar and there was no super Deus Ex Machina that they had been using the last two seasons. I do wonder what's next for Korra seeing as the metal poisoning seems to be very debilitating and she seems depressed. Good to see Jinora practically mirror Aang with her tatoos though.
Holy crap I'm literally bawling right now and my roommate is just staring at me like I'm some freak ;w;... But seriously though that was an amazing finale, the fighting and everything was very reminiscent of the Aang/Ozai fight but I'm kinda glad that they didn't try to one up it. I knew something weird was up with the poison when the bender put it in her, because he didn't use normal waterbending styles to make the poison seep into Korra's skin. I feel so bad for her right now with that mercury poisoning. First of all, I feel that Korra is going to feel absolutely useless again and that breaks my heart. Secondly, that was a ton of mercury for one human and I'm sure that even with the Avatar state that Korra has suffered some major muscle, brain damage. Mercury poisoning probably isn't that common considering how Jinora reacted, and that means they have almost no clue in terms of how to help/heal Korra. I feel like the fourth season is gonna get like really dark and Korra is gonna be super suicidal ;w;.
The final two fights were probably deliberately reminiscent of the Aang vs Ozai fight AND the Cavern fight at the end of TLA Season 2.
I thought the weightlessness thing came out of no where to a degree, but it wasn't too big of a deal. If it were the cause of a cliffhanger or something like that, I'd be pretty annoyed. Although, it very loosely was because Zaheer would have never been able to escape, to inflict Korra with poison, if he didn't get that ability.
I wouldn't be surprised if Season 4 had something to do with Korra getting the Avatar Past Lives back in some way (maybe a visit to the spirit world) to help lift her very obvious depression. A thousand past Avatar lives could easily tell her why she would still be important.
I can't tell if her tear at the end was due to:
A) Her feeling useless.
B) Her being happy for Jinora.
C) Her being happy that Tenzin was thinking about her and trying to help her.
D) Something else entirely.
I find it even more ridiculous now that they can't say the word "death" after basically showing someone blow themself up.
I find I'm amused at myself about Ming Hua. Her voice actor is clearly the same who played Azula. Ming Hua had like...3 lines though so it makes it much harder to notice.

[quote] they DID show her, and korra-daddy, hell, even Kya (tenzin sister), manipulating water and ice simultaneously. technically, that's advanced tactics o_o. but yeah... definitely not on level with magma bending
