Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion
Lozmaster Wrote:Huh.

If I was guessing which kirby boss would be most likely to be an assist trophy, Nightmare wizard would have been quite far down the list. Whispy woods would have been the obvious choice, but because he's probably (hopefully!) a stage hazard again I would have gone for kracko (the spikey cloud boss that shoots lighting/rain).

He's the final boss from kirbys adventure (the NES kirby game), if people are wondering.

Having Whispy Woods appear in the middle of a stage would look weird. Imagine a hugeass TREE growing on top of a F-Zero car.

Yeah man, imagine if a flower was growing out of someones head? It's this type of ridiculousness I'm glad we don't see in the smash franchise. Or a giant flipper just zooming around getting in peoples way, now that's some out of place wack sh`it. Rolleyes

I'm just saying that it clips too much with backgrounds and/or platforms, the leaves would be annoying to know what's going on behind them, and in my example, I was thinking more on the lines of having an instant wall on a moveable platform, or how it'd disturb gameplay. That also blows wind.

And seeing it in the background like in the stage hazard would mean clipping with other stage elements. Also making it small would defeat its purpose as a screen-sized boss. Those examples you mentioned aren't as intrusive as this:

He's like 1/3 of the screen, not even counting the top leaves.

Besides King Dedede Arena stage, I would love to fight atop of the mountain where Dyna Blade resides.

Fighting on a Dyna Blade stage would be fucking awesome.

Every now and then you'd have to watch out for Dynablade zipping through. And the sky would be dark, and there would be awesome music, and

WHY HASN'T SAKURAI THOUGHT OF THIS YET

- No Konami in credits implies that Snake could be cut.
- It should be noted that Ubisoft isn't listed either, despite having Rayman as a trophy. This also applies to Platinum Games and Wonder Red.
- The game is 2.1 GB in size, which I feel is actually a little small considering how big Brawl was due to its large music selection (269 music tracks, without sound effects etc) I feel like the music selection in the 3DS version will be rather lacklustre.
- Under 'Local Play' (above 'Nintendo Network') there is an asterisk saying 'Local play requires a cartridge per player' which implies no Download Play.

Locked; If a property of a company isn't used on the box art, it doesn't have to be listed in the credits on the box. So this doesn't really confirm anyone's been cut, but Snake is still extremely unlikely at this point....

Sakurai said that the 3DS only have 2 songs per stage during the smash direct in april.

I must have missed that.

Do you recall if he mentioned if the Wii U version will be 'gimped' as well?

If Snake was in, they'd at least advertise him considering how much hype he would bring. Definitely enough hype to be in the back of the box art.

The Wii U Version will have the same "My Music" feature that Brawl had. So I'm assuming it'll have at least the same amount if not far more tracks than Brawl did.

LOL my friend just showed me a little chat log:

"Only clone characters ever get cut. Snake's not going anywhere"
"Mewtwo"
"Well...uh..."
"Snake and Mewtwo are actually both literal clones though"

I... I just can't even right now.

First of all Snake is irrelevant since quite long ago, its all about Big Boss now. Second, Konami doesn't give a pomegranate about Nintendo anymore, except for every other mediocre game they release on the 3DS.

I'd rather Nintendo put all their efforts into making Rayman a playable character than having snake. Hypewise, both would work wonderfully while Rayman would fit in perfectly in Smash.

Solid Snake was already far past irrelevant by Brawl's release. That means nothing. And what makes you think Konami doesn't care about Nintendo anymore?

The fact that no remotely big game from Konami is getting released on the Wii U, leave alone anything related to metalgear since like a decade ago. I'll say it straight up, I just feel Konami doesn't deserve to be part of the big party thats gonna be Smash bros on the Wii U when they seem to have moved completely over to other platforms.

Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. Looking at the number of days we have left for development, it would be an impossible task to create this… That's what I told my staff. But thanks to the determination of her female designer, these Zero Suit outfits got completed in time. From the ending of Metroid: Zero Mission, here's Samus in shorts!
