Complete the quest '[Tower of Oz] Tower Under the Sea' through the quest notifier and enter through the Dimensional Mirror.
- The Tower of Oz has 50 floors, each with different objectives and tasks, such as hunting monsters, navigating jump quests, and more.
- You can challenge up to 200 floors in the Tower of Oz each day.
For example, when you enter Floor 1, your daily limit will be reduced by 1. If you go to Floor 10, 10 counts will be deducted from your daily limit.
- If you reach your daily limit in the middle of exploring the Tower of Oz, you will be allowed to stay until you go back to the lobby.
- Use the Clever Lady Hotline that Alicia's Soul gave you for assistance or if you would like to exit the Tower of Oz. You are allowed to place this on a hot key for easier use. If you lose the Clever Lady Hotline, you can get another one from Alicia's Soul in the lobby.
Time limit & Stupid Pills:
Spoiler
When entering Tower of Oz you have a time limit. By default you have 5 minutes, but you can extend this time using "Stupid Pills".
Stupid Pills can be purchased from the NPC "Glinda" and look like this:
There are two types of stupid pills: Prescription and Generic.
Prescription stupid pills are the ones you will be using on your runs.
They are untrabable, cheap, and last longer than Generic pills.
Generic pills are tradable but give a LOT less time and are a lot more expensive.
Pill amounts:
Really Not Very Stupid At All Pill +2 minutes
Less Stupid Pill + minutes
Kinda Stupid Pill +9 minutes
Pretty Stupid Pill +14 minutes
Pants-On-Head Stupid Pill +17 minutes
*the default 5 minutes is also included when you use pills*
You begin with only 1 pill slot unlocked.
You need to manually unlock each slot to be able to use more pills, and therefore increase your time inside.
You can unlock more slots by talking to the NPC "Alice".
To unlock the second slot, it costs 10,000 Seed Points AND Completed Floor 10.
To unlock the third slot, it costs 28,000 Seed Points AND Completed Floor 20.
To unlock the fourth slot, it costs 55,000 Seed Points AND Completed Floor 30.
To unlock the fifth slot, it costs 80,000 Seed Points AND Completed Floor 40.
Each floor has its own time limit that has nothing to do with your Time limit or pills.
If you pass this time limit for the individual floor, Finley will come for that ass.
Finley will chase you throughout the map doing huge "damage on touch" until he kills you. (which then kicks you out to lobby without losing exp)
If anyone cares about WHY they are called Stupid pills:
Spoiler
This is Nexon's attempt at changing lore to appeal to American 12 year olds that have no idea what the Wizard of Oz is.
The REAL story is that the tower is basically a dream world, and you need to take sleeping pills to be able to wander, travel, and be inside of the tower.
The higher quantity and more powerful the sleeping pills, the longer you can stay asleep.
Rewards and Oz Points!
Spoiler
Every time you clear a floor you will be given a number of Oz Points while still inside of the tower.
The higher the floor you clear, the more will be given.
Also, ALL bosses inside of the tower drop Oz Point Pouches (along with a chance to drop ring boxes).
When you run out of time, die (not in a boss map), or give up via your use item: you are teleported to the lobby to collect Oz Points + a Ring Box based off of how far you got.
There are 10 ranks of Ring boxes and go as follows:
Rank 10 - Floors 1-5
Rank 9 - Floors 6-10
Rank 8 - Floor 11-15
Rank 7 - Floor 16-20
Rank 6 - Floor 21-25
Rank 5 - Floor 26-30
Rank 4 - Floor 31-35
Rank 3 - Floor 36-40
Rank 2 - Floor 41-45
Rank 1 - Floor 46-50
*note that this is based off the last floor you CLEARED, not the floor you were kicked out in*
The lower the rank number, the better the rewards.
To see a list of rewards please click here.
*NOTE: Keep tutorials ON! They give you time pauses/breaks so you can get a breather OR wait for party members to catch up!
Floors
Floor 1
Spoiler
There are two ways to clear this map:
1. Do a total of 50,000,000 damage to mobs. (It only counts the lines that took away HP)
ex. If you hit 1 mob with 25m lines x6 it will only count as 25m, as the first line is all that took HP away.
2. Kill 300 monsters (This can be done as a party)
Protips: Buff and gear up BEFORE you enter the tower to prevent wasting any time. Use your hyper skill to clear this stage in 1 hit (If you have the damage)
Floor 2
Spoiler
This stage is an invisible jump quest.
There are portals before each of the 3 chasms, these not only reveal the platforms for a short time to everyone on the map, BUT also act as a return spot if you fall (If you preview them).
If you happen to fall to the bottom, simply use your use item's 2nd option to teleport to the start or your last return spot.
The rules to mastering this stage are:
1. Memorize the positions of the platforms. (when they go higher, lower, or stay the same)
2. ALWAYS walk off (not jump) to get to platforms that are lower than the one you are currently on. (this also applies to the beginnings of chasm 1 and 3)
3. Watch your characters legs, and every time it takes 2 steps, JUMP. (you can also count "1, 2, jump" aloud)
4. NEVER LOSE MOMENTUM! (Never stop pressing your arrow keys while in a chasm.
To see full reveals of the platforms:
Spoiler
Protips: If you are going in a group you can time it so that you reveal the platforms for each other, as anyone can see them while they are being revealed.
Floor 3
Spoiler
You need to collect 1,500 eggs from these two mobs.
Don't worry about the high number. Both colors of eggs are counted, and each mob drops 5-15 per kill.
Ignore the betting system unless you know how to smuggle eggs, I will not teach that here.
Protips: It is BEST to come with another person and split into 1 top and 1 bottom, so you are clearing spawn for each other. Kannas are a good ally on this stage.
Floor 4
Spoiler
On this floor you need to reach 300pts.
Wild Kargos are spawned on both sides of the map.
You will need to kill mobs on the side that it tells you to.
Each kill on the correct side will give you 5pts.
Each kill on the wrong side will subtract pts.
To cross the chasm, jump onto a platform with an axe.
Wait on that platform until it hits its high point behind you. (Side will be different depending on the way you are going)
Jump when it hits the high point until you are on top of another axe platform.
Repeat.
Protip: If you are going in a group take turns waiting in tutorial for each other to finish, so you don't fight over kills. This floor doesn't share pts with your party members!
Floor 5
Spoiler
This is a resting area.
There is a resting area in every floor ending in a 5.
You do not use time in here, and if you DC while in a resting area you will relog into the same resting area.
Protip: Wait for your group to all get here, you will need them to finish floor 6 quickly
Floor 6
Spoiler
On this floor you need to kill 300 slimes.
Slime will spawn all over the map and count as 1 kill each.
Every 30 seconds a King Slime will appear.
They are worth 30 kills each, but you better hurry because they disappear after 10 seconds!
Protip: Do this in a party, the kills count for everyone! Again split the map's regions based on the number of people you have. Also use hyper skills off CD!
Floor 7
Spoiler
You need to protect the wounded explorer.
Lupins will spawn on sides of the map in set times, sometimes from the right, left, or both.
I believe there are 18 waves total.
If the explorer dies, you lose.
Protips: The position to stand in is based off your class. If you cant kill all of them off of spawn, focus the bottom floor first. (These are the ones that do damage to the explorer)
Floor 8
Spoiler
On this floor you will need to kill 100 Volcano Bugs.
This stage also has fire pillars that will shoot out of the ground in preshown spots.
They do a decent amount of damage, so try to ignore them.
Protips: This stage's kills can also be done as a party! So don't forget to wait in tutorial until everyone has caught up! Divide the map based on the number of people.
Floor 9
Spoiler
This floor is exactly like Ludi PQ's box guessing stage.
You descend down the map by guessing a platform (1-4)
It is random every time, and I believe there are 12 levels to pass.
Protips: Always try the platform it puts you on after guessing a level correctly, you'd be surprised the streaks it will give you. If you have a hard time remembering what platforms you've already tried type "Not #" into allchat to have a reminder always on your screen! Take off any familiars or big effects so you can see the glimmers of passed levels.
Floor 10
Spoiler
BOSS STAGE!
You will be killing this Spider. (relevance to Wizard Of Oz: No idea)
It has around 600M HP? You have 5 lives in this boss area.
When it spawns eggs, kill them before they hatch or they spawn baby spiders.
When it makes a web around itself, its going into DR.
When it digs, it is going to jump from the floor at you.
When it charges up, it will throw a poison bomb or a web shot.
As far as I know it only drops Oz Point Pouches, and no ring boxes.
Floor 11
Spoiler
Kill 200 Flower Golems!
Protips: This stage can be done as a party! Wait in tutorial for everyone to catch up!
Floor 12
Spoiler
Another jump quest!
There are 3 different sections of this one and each have a different trick.
Section 1
You have to get hit by the thorns AND jump at the same time in order to launch yourself forward. (Must also have a walking momentum)
Section 2
You will need to wait out the spikes and jump at the right times.
The last platform has an invisible launch spring.
Right when you make the jump towards that last platform, hold down your right arrow key mid air to give yourself air momentum.
Section 3
This is a walkway with invisible holes in the floor, but these holes can be see using the SIMPLE Minimap (this can be turned on in system settings).
Make your minimap as large as it gets. Don't look at your character, but instead its dot on the minimap.
Jump everytime your feet (on the minimap) touch a hole. (Don't jump earlier, the minimap dot isn't an exact showing of your character)
IF you happen to mess that part up, you have fallen into Hell.
To get out of hell always jump up while facing left, with yourself being positioned on the left most edge of the steps.
On the last area of hell, don't forget to duck under the spikes and time your jumps right, while following the method above.
There are also traps in-between sections 1-2 & 2-3.
The first trap is a 50/50, it's either the top or bottom.
The second trap is 33/33/33, it's either top, middle, or bottom.
Being hit by a trap will send you back to the last section you were in.
You will hit traps a lot, don't get down when it happens.
I have to take pictures/video to better explain this stage, will be updated later.
Floor 13
Spoiler
Kill all mobs to clear!
Mobs will spawn in the left-middle part of the map.
They will be walking from right to left.
If too many mobs reach the left wall, you will fail and be kicked out.
There are also meteors falling from the sky, just like hard magnus. (green = 50% hp, blue/purple = 1 hit kill)
This stage is easy as long as you get used to dodging the meteors.
The exit to this map is on the far right.
Protips: Wait for mobs to come to YOU in-between the 1st and 2nd palm tree.
Floor 14
Spoiler
To clear this floor you will need to kill all mushrooms!
You will have 30 seconds and 20 bullets to kill 15 monsters.
This means you can miss 5 times.
Take your time and get comfortable.
Protips: Shoot them when they are on the edges of their fly path. A lot of them will bunch up on these spots and make it much easier. NEVER SHOOT WITH YOUR MOUSE MOVING. Let the mob come to you.
Floor 15
Spoiler
Resting Area!
Group up with your party here! You'll need em in floor 16!
Floor 16
Spoiler
Kill 200 monsters to clear the floor !
Parties share kill counter, so bring a friend ~
Floor 17
Spoiler
DARK JUMP QUEST!
A pretty straight forward JQ, 1 thorn launch like in floor 12.
Attack boxes, boxes can contain 1-2 coconuts.
You can also hit trees for Coconuts to drop.
Sometimes boxes will contain Lorangs and Clangs.
You will not be able to clear the stage until all mobs are defeated
Protips: Collect from trees as you pass them, and use a drop rate familiar.
Floor 19
Spoiler
Protect the NPC until the end to clear!
Protect the veteran explorer as she takes a random path through the map.
Pretty straight forward.
Protips: Buff at the end of this stage before going into Floor 20.
Floor 20
Spoiler
BOSS STAGE!
Tin-man is the Floor 20 boss! (Finally something from Wizard Of Oz)
Tin-man has 1B HP? You again have 5 lives.
He has a charge up before smashing the ground with his axe.
He can jump and move around quickly, so be on your toes!
Tin-man drops Oz Point Pouches and has a chance to drop a rank 9-7 Ring Box!
No protips for this stage, I personally 3 hit him so I don't know all of his skills

Myself for putting this together with all the current information and my own little tips and tricks.
Due to thread size/limits on this forum I will be breaking this guide into pieces.
This is part 1: Explanations + Floors 1~20
Part 2: -link here-
31 - Kill 200 insectivore slimes. Don't aggro the fairy (don't attack it at all) or it'll spawn more fairies and they can seal you + cast an invincible bubble on the slimes (like Shinsoo's bubble at Empress)
32 - Kill the blue slimes at the top of the map. Cannot jump here. Have to use the bouncy thorns to attack the mobs on your way up.
33 - Use the keys to change the direction of arrows, making your way to the bottom right corner and getting that arrow to point straight down. You can use Alicia's hotline to "run out of keys" three times, and then buy 3 sets of keys from the NPC in the starting box, for a total of 5 sets.
34 - Kill yellow cows on the bottom of the map to obtain 10 leathers, which allows you to use the portals on either side of the map to teleport to the top of the map where you can kill purple cows. You need 10 purple leathers to clear the stage. Note* these cows have a super KB attack, which is especially annoying for the purple ones on top. It can be avoided/dodged like normal, as it is a normal attack.
35 - rest stage
36 - slowest stage ever. talk to the npc and hit the monsters in the correct order. pattern stays the same for the whole time. starts at 3 and ends at 12. messing up (hitting the wrong mob) at any point makes you restart from scratch with a whole new code.
37 - kill 100 of each mob in the map
38 - kill 100 total mobs of what the guy tells you to do. killing the wrong ones at the wrong time does not punish you
39 - quiz on random aspects of maple. focus on monster life, npc lines, class skills, and more
40 - scarecrow boss. you deal a fixed 10 dmg to him no matter what. lure him to the fire (background) on the map in order to damage him. kind of an annoying boss fight.
41 - easy jump quest with max speed/jump
42 - pineappleing worst stage in the history of anything ever. if RNG doesn't go perfectly correctly your entire run is pineappleed and finley will come to kill you and laugh in your stupid dead face
43 - quiz on things that happened during that current run. if you answer wrong a total of 4 times your run is over.
Possible 43f questions
1f
2f - how many times fall?
3f - who won ?
4f - how many times switch side?

As kind of a side-discussion, for the min-maxers, do you guys think the active rings are worth using? Spadow says they have no slots, so they cant have potential. However, some of the active effects are really good. Do you guys think these are competitive and worth giving up a ring slot for?

use the buff then instantly replace it then go slap w/e similar to using equips with decent skills

except the only remotely useful buffs last for ~10 seconds at the highest level ring. A good amount of that time is going to be used up by switching out your ring.
I have more question cuz I been 43 many time
it ask you
on stage 1 how many mob you kill? on stage 1 what is the exact dmg you did to enter stage 2
on stage 2 how many time you fall? on stage 2 did Alicia ever ask you to wait for someone while you you using hint ? answer yes or no
on stage 3 how many red and blue egg you lost when you enter stage 4
on stage 4 how many time you fall ? on stage 4 how many balance point you lost?
on stage 5 what is the total time you have left? on stage 5 how long it took you to reach this floor in sec?
on stage 6 how many king slime you killed?
on stage 9 what is the order of certain floor that is the correct portal? on stage 9 how many wrong you got ?
Marksman Bryan Wrote:except the only remotely useful buffs last for ~10 seconds at the highest level ring. A good amount of that time is going to be used up by switching out your ring.
Marksman Bryan Wrote:f'uck that it doesn't even keep count for you.
not like i can even reach 43f with how fucking ridiculous 42f is
you think stage 21 question is hard... try stage 11 question ... I just got today.... it ask me how many black flower golem I kill? .... try that question for a chance if you get question 11 it auto fail if you don't know how many black flower golem u killed..
Question Wrote:you think stage 21 question is hard... try stage 11 question ... I just got today.... it ask me how many black flower golem I kill? .... try that question for a chance if you get question 11 it auto fail if you don't know how many black flower golem u killed..
That sounds easier than 21f. You know you kill 300 in total, so the answer is probably somewhere around 150+/-10.
In general it's looking like these questions are f'ucking stupid and that might be what kills this content for me (if 42f doesn't do it).
Like, I'd understand questions on stuff you can keep track of.. But these? Come on.

Can't you use the Legendary Hunter medal quest to track kill count? iirc if you open the medal tab and look under 'challenges' or something it should have a counter of how many mobs you've killed.
- How many oz points did you have when you entered 1f?
- How many seconds left at 35f?
- How many white thorny bears did you kill at 13f? (I lost on this one. I think it's 25 after watching blurry footage)

Stage 13 question is really hard.... even if you have a clear video... and also
stage 13 has 5 summon the first 4 summon always summon 15mob of each color
the last stage is the hardest it summon 4 color of random number each of a total 25....

Still haven't passed 43f. Being back in school is going to make it a lot more difficult for me to find an hour and a half to focus on an Oz run.
Speaking of, I found out last night that there are gaps at the end of 42f. I managed to clear it perfectly (if I didn't fall I would have been on 43f before the notice for Finley even showed up), but ended up failing because I fell twice. In the same damn spot. At least I know where the gaps are now.
I've started recording all my runs on an external HD on the off chance I make it to 43f again. I really want the medal for 45f
What's 44f btw Question;? I can't find any info on that (or 46f for that matter).
edit:
special thanks to andy22/cb000 on basil for this:
andy Wrote:Hey, I'm a fellow Tower climber (still working on f42), and I've been digging around for some info on the later stages. I've searched around SP a bit as part of my research and saw your post inquiring about f44 and f46. I'll share some info I've found from Insoya so you're better prepared.
Source: http://www.insoya.com/index.php?v=/bbs/z...c&no=48560
F44 is a jump quest with max speed like f41, though there seem to be traps that will send you back to the beginning, since the person in the video seems to go along a very specific route (the two dark voids at the end are also obvious traps). F46 is just a kill-200 room.
Source: http://www.insoya.com/bbs/zboard.php?id=...category=2
I also found a guide to f48, and it even has a map of all the invisible platforms. Sadly, the guide is entirely in Korean as expected, but the map should be a pretty nice preparation tool.
Does anyone Question; cough) know where the f'ucking traps are at the end of 42f? I keep getting flung back in a spot this video clearly shows the person walking over. Pissing me off. I've cleared 42f six times now and I can't make it past the last part for some reason.
