The guy probably just meant to say Megaman (or Pac man).

It's pretty obvious several of the staffers demoing the game haven't actually played it/smash much before (case in point, one of the recent videos where none of the players who were supposed to be nintendo staff seemed to be aware of recovering with the up-b move...)

Not to mention a lot of the time they sit there and just rail the a button in the hopes of getting a hit. Lol its pretty obvious they havent played much if at all. And this guy who supposedly works at NoC would NOT just reveal rayman or even know hes playable unless he didnt care about his employment status.

Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. In this Smash Bros. installment, this little guy is also making an appearance! I…don't know his name, but he's the Prince of the Sablé Kingdom. He's from the Game Boy game Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (translated as The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls), which was only released in Japan.

er... okay.... are they throwing in every old character that was forgotten? To add a character that never made it out of japan seems odd.

It wouldn't be that odd. We had fire emblem playables long before they left Japan too.

Besides he technically has left Japan, just not his game. He shows up in Zelda: Links awakening, and you have to collect golden leaves for him from his castle

Sakurai is known for throwing in obscure characters from gaming. Take the Devil and Jill assist trophies for example. Or maybe even Ice Climbers.

Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. Look at these three radiant pieces... Yup, you guessed it! It's another combinable item like the Dragoon-the Daybreak.

More like super ultra mega ultimate scope. Getting hit with a daybreak is a guarantee 1hko in uprising.

Not like the dragoon is really any different.

After sakurai saying little mac's punch is "insta-KO" and then learning that it's really just the strongest move in the game at 39% damage, i don't think ohko's truly exist in this game. I don't know how much damage the dragoon does though.

Also i hope you can't collect both dragoon and daybreak at the same time. Items being "ohko" is the epitome of why people hate items so two "ohko" items like that on one character is just too much. Especially if it's on little mac oh god such OP. Just imagine how quickly he would collect those 6 item pieces with his insane running speed while still having his own ohko option on top of two others.

They are only 1hkos because they have really high launch speeds. It's possible to survive them if you get lucky and hit a wall to absorb the knockback.

That is incredibly circumstantial and isn't very likely to happen at all on most stages. A OHKO is generally a move/item that can kill at 0% / Very low % and is unsurvivable even with DI.

I'm thinking they'll make it so that they can both appear in the same round, but only one or the other's pieces can exist at any given time. So whichever piece appears first makes it so that only that set can be completed, until either whatever pieces currently exist on the field are lost, or are all collected and used.

dragoon and marth's specials have ohko'd me after bouncing 5+ times on snake's stage, granted i don't know how to DI but hitting five walls isn't your average either

But...that was my point, so of course i know this? The daybreak probably won't be ohko in this game like it is in uprising because other previously stated ohko moves actually don't ohko and just have huge knockback/damage% or both, like every other "ohko" that is survivable by teching/DI/being sub 30% damage.

Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. Victini and Xerneas are both support Pokémon. Victini's Victory Star boosts the attack of whoever throws the Poké Ball, and also prevents flinching. Xerneas's Geomancy increases the launch power of all fighters, but exceptionally raises it for whoever had the Poké Ball.

I'm not sure which would be worse now, both of these pokemon at once or 2/3 pieces of the "ohko" items on little mac...

Or both...oh god, the item rape is real

Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. Here's the trophy gallery for the 3DS version. You can rotate the trophies by drawing circles on the bottom screen. Super Smash Bros. Brawl had tons of trophies, but rumor has it that the 3DS version alone may have more than Brawl. Looks like the Dr. Wily that we made from scratch for the 3DS version is on his knees in disbelief.
