v1.51 Bugs and Glitches
I'm a sort of new player, but I'm pretty sure the problem I'm having is related to the wingbeat glitch. Whenever I use two of them in combination with gigas wave on my Kaiser it makes Maple disconnect me all the time. Is there any way I can prevent the disconnects or do I just have to hope it gets patched? I saw some previous notes where this glitch was fixed, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

I assume the correct answer is Reclamation HQ (going by world map)

The correct answer is "Heliseum Reclamation HQ"

Yup, gotten it a few times now.

I've even had Lumiere once.

How does glitched wingbeat work? Does it actually do all the damage it says it does, is it a purely graphical glitch, or does it do the damage it's supposed to and just deplete wingbeat's hits super quickly?

The glitch works by immensely reducing the delay between hits, making it attack faster than usual, probably as fast as Arrow Blaster. Also affects Frozen Orb, Falling Star and Bat Swarm.

However, it's not a noticeable DPS difference compared to Orb because Wingbeat has a hits cap while Orb only has a duration.

I've been studying this glitch a little, and I have a conclusion. Read on to the tl;dr if you don't want to read the process.

So I'm a Lumi, and I've been using Morning Star once in a while to help speed up the killing of the bosses. My range, unfortunately, is too low to allow this glitch to become a make/break (e.g. I can't complete Ranked Dojo). What I noticed was that Morning Star actually doesn't work all the time with this glitch, and I've observed this behaviour even before this glitch occured (the glitch made it more pronounced).

Morning Star has a 2-phase attack, a rolling phase (which is all the glitch is about) that pushes back monsters at the same time (very useless unless you pin the boss against a wall, is stationary or if it has a cannotberushed tag), and an explosion phase (meh). What happens with this glitch is that, indeed Morning Star does become very powerful, possibly more powerful than Ender spam in fact. However, once you hit the attacking instance safety limit, all future rolling phases will not trigger, and Morning Star simply lands and explodes, doing the explosion damage only. This is reset only if you change maps.

Wingbeat used to DC people because there were too many attacking instances in one period of time, and the server/client(?) disconnects you thinking that you are hacking. It probably is because you hit the safety limit too many times in a short period of time, or something like that. What's odd is that Wingbeat has a hit cap of 44 (based on Locked's Ultimate Skills Table; could have changed I didn't keep track), and I'm not sure if the glitch now makes Wingbeat attack like Frozen Orb (in any case, making the situation worse because it is spammable unlike the other skills).

Now for the glitch itself. The problem came from 2 observations:
1) the number of instances needed to trigger the safety cap, and
2) the DPS from Morning Star compared to Ender Spam.

The number of attacks needed to trigger the safety cap is around 100-ish without moving. If it's a standard rapidattack skill like Hurricane, then Morning Star should have 4000/120 ~= 33 attacks. That should be 3 casts of Morning Star before the cap triggers. I observed that I can only cast twice (most bosses e.g. in Dojo), and after the second cast, my subsequent Apocalypse cast will be nulled by the cap. The third Morning Star cast will be an explosion-only event, and will persist for the rest of the fight in the same map.

Then comes the damage. Ender spam has always been Lumi's greatest source of DPS, and Morning Star was the poorest source of DPS amongst the 4th job skills, used only to charge up Dark Crescendo.

Calculations for DPS, using Booster only, no criticals

So what I suspect is that the attacking delay is actually 60ms i.e. twice as fast as a normal rapidattack skill. This should account for the large increase in DPS to approach Ender Spam, and also the 2-cast trigger of the attack limit safety cap.

tl;dr Glitch will break Morning Star on Lumis, and the glitch is more broken than we thought - it doesn't make them a rapidattack skill, but instead hits twice as fast as a rapidattack skill (delay ~= 60ms).

Wingbeat dissipates after doing its 40 hits. It's nigh impossible to keep 2 wingbeats up because they go away so fast.

Edit : nvm

Couple of things (not sure if I am repeating anything already known):

1) Kanna story line is borked. The lvl 26 quest in El Nath won't let you into the room next to Alcaster. If you try, you get UI locked (no skills, no doors). A trip through the mirror will fix you, but you can;t ever advance the story line.
2) Jett story seems to be completely gone. I started a new Jett and no quests are available in my Available tab and nobody on the nautilus is talking. It feels awfully strange having to GRIND from level 10 to 11... I have a couple more things to check once the servers are back up, but it seems like the game is behaving oddly to me.

Nexon observed that 99.9% of Jetts go straight into FM at level 10, and don't come out until banned for spam. So, a quest line for Jett is unnecessary...

They broke a lot of the storyline quests like Evan, Kanna, etc. somehow. Hurt

Jett never had storyline quests besides the job advancements and the level 80 quests. The Nautilus' quests were blocked sincethe beach area was closed off.

This is my 7th Jett in the last 2 months and it's now the slowest since the quests are gone. But yeah, the Nautilus generic pirate storyline was a big part of the Jett line. Conveniently, Jett gets Tot level skips from 30-35 and from 46-50.

kaisers have always had a DC issue when doing too many hits too quickly.
tecul1 Wrote:However, it's not a noticeable DPS difference compared to Orb because Wingbeat has a hits cap while Orb only has a duration.

wingbeat is dishing out all its damage (48 hits) in 1.9 sec, verses ~20 seconds. and while kaiser can *Barely* maintain 2 active wingbeats, the frontload of damage is quite the increase in dps; not SO much more in longer (dpm) fights.

 Spoiler

Ive since reversed my opinion, especially now that i'm approaching 5:00 dojo time. kaiser's mathematics with wingbeat is triple beat + gigas at the same time. right now (speed 2) i can manage two gigas per wing beat, and recast swords replacing one gigas, every cooldown. compared to the old combo, 7~8 gigas per wing beat, while 3 are active, again, replacing swords with one gigas every cooldown.

estimation math
 Spoiler
so again, very rough estimate, no-delay wingbeat dps is constant, while the old formula requires startup and timing. the no-delay will kill faster.

Any reason you made 7 Jetts?
Also, now Henesys is geared towards the level 10-15 range, so you could do quests there.

Link mules. I did the first six during anniversary time, so this is the first one i have done since 1.50. Running a nub from 1-70 doesn't take terribly long.

"1. Get a slot coupon (coin shop/hot day)
2. Go to a location where u can die easily over and over (Magnus preferably)
3. Double click slot coupon (do not press yes)
4. Die
5. Click yes
6. Respawn

End result:
You keep your coupon
You gain 4/8 slots depending on which coupon you used."
