v.151 - Rising Heroes: Echoes of Darkness Update Highlights

YennoX Wrote:Seriously? Lv150 for the event ring? I swear they've been slowly raising the level requirements for these things.

It seems you get two rings. But are they both at level 150, or does one come at an earlier level?

Edit: Nevermind, killed in my sleep by ninjas.

Look at all those slots for potential/bonus potential/nebulite/enhancements

That's what ruined MapleStory. Just putting that out there. Way too much effort for doing all of that.

Wouldn't be as bad if it wasn't 70-90% p2w. Took like four years for us to get some semblance of free and even then it isn't guaranteed? Smh. I fell in love with Zero's playstyle so I have a slew of advantages in that regard but man is it hard to do most anything in this game.

The worst part is that the exp changes made it inherently bad to party up beyond 2-3 people depending on where you are because you lose more exp as you gain more people. Thankfully with the elites good/average potential isnt AS hard to get to allow you to do some modicum of damage so that leveling won't be too painful/attainable for the unfunded. Hurt

Reducing hp and increasing exp to a manage able level? Goggleemoticon
Cubes in event shop, albeit limited and with drop familiars a cube or so every 3 days from pretty standard bosses? Heart
Reducing HP and EXP b/c you don't want people hitting 250? Hurts the 160-200 more than anything unless that evo exp penalty got removed and I just never noticed but even then you need 1m+(class dependant) a line w/ 20x hp core and 50%+ spawn rate for a good speed. Rolleyes Pretty mixed though mostly a positive.

DIPQ is pretty good and Gollux and RA kinda encourage group behavior to an extent due to the drop system because people like their merching.

Game is headed in a good direction, although in seeming micro-steps, but only time can tell if they'll stop screwing everyone over in terms of exp. I'd say server stability too but I'm not convince that its entirely them.

Wonder if they are gonna sneak the Seed stuff in with this patch. >_> Not like anything could beat Dorthy as is other than maybe Phant and capping bowmen.

Outside of the Nebulites, that was about a month of casual grinding/fusing/events.

What really ruined the game is that people don't want to make an effort anymore and just buy/leech their way up. The era of the "grindy" RPG is pretty much over, people just want everything handed to them with instant action now.

You may not agree with me, and that's fine, that's just how I feel about it.

Hmmm. Well, thanks to the new party exp system, I can make a Shade on my 6 accounts and train them all at the same time on any map in the game and get great exp. I only need one set of tradable training gear that I can swap around. I can rotate which one is the attacker to keep the exp balanced among them. It will probably be faster than doing them individually like I did with Beast Tamer.

It's not the link, it's the ring.

Alright... I've been lurking enough. I'll just ask here. Do you all think it's worth it to play the game again? As in, do you think the updates are good enough to make life easier for a casual player, and to go through the storyline for Eunwol?

I would say yes. But it obviously depends on what you define as casual or if you want to spend NX (like always).
Easier to get cubes without nx now, same with protection scrolls and a high rate to get slates.
I haven't been training anything this patch, but it doesn't seem much worse than before atleast.
If you ever need help with anything, feel free to whisper or BL me in game, assuming you're still in Windia Smile

I don't spend NX. Like, ever. The only exception is Maple Points, which were so hard earned that allowed me to buy my permanent item pouch and meso magnets. Except... they're on my BaM, not my Lumi hahah. I'm casual, play for fun though I have grinded a lot before hence my fairly decent inventory (only have 100k range on my Lumi, if you call that "only" lol).

Yeah I'm in Windia and only in Windia. But whether I do play or not (assuming I've decided to come back) depends on my schedule greatly. Research and relationship takes up almost all my time. But yeah thanks for your reply Smile

I've been playing a nubling during this update to see how the noob experience has changed (no link skills, no gear, no funding, no NX). The streamlining of areas and quests makes the low levels better. The new maple guide gives a means of instant transport to recommended training areas, too. Equipment hasn't been a problem, really. It's only when I got past lvl 70 or so that the time-to-kill became noticeably higher and training slowed down. Quest Exp has increased enough to be worth it. The game really does encourage partying now. (I think it's too little, too late though.) However, casuals will never be able to boss still (except for Zakum). The changes actually make the game feel more old school to me. With Monster Park and MP Extreme not available until lvl 100, the fly-through-it grind of levels 60-100 is no longer as readily available. (Yeah, you can always find a grind spot, but you will be moving to new maps more frequently as you do.)

For me, the new nubling experience has been a nice one overall. Yeah, part of me gets frustrated at the slower growth because of that I WANT MOAR LEVELS voice in me. But I am enjoying the fact that I am not spending 40 levels in the same spot.

They refunded us for perm pet items since they are included with the pets now and you can just get the extra stuff as skills for like 1k maple points.

Leveling is pretty good for the 1-100. 100-140 depends partially on class b/c evo bu tI heard a few maps were buffed. Just hit 200 on my zeron and about to work on my WA(123) so if you do I should be able to tell you if there is anything good besides evo in a day or so. Epic pot gear drops somewhat consistently now b/c of elite monsters and bosses along with slates, 50% hammers and such. Not too hard to do things other than bosses on a clean char.

150 is pretty ridiculous. I did grind for a couple of days and got a gunslinger to 130, but even then it was testing my patience.

It really isn't that bad. What I've been doing is saving MPE tickets and waiting for a 2x event, and just grinding through 10x-141. DIPQ and Evo take over from there.

Hell yeah!

I already have an outfit picked out for Eunwol Shade on my Battle Mage.
I was kinda expecting them to extend it by a few days at most, an extra 2 weeks is just fabulous. thanks Nexon!

Oh, and the mod edited their message, it ends on the 22nd, not the 23rd as he originally said.

Don't want anyone getting their items stuck on a character they don't want.

EDIT: Oh snap, I just realized that means I can use my Hyper Teleport Rock all the way through the levelling process. Love it.
