How was your day?

So I have my first real life gay friend.

Just watching him operate is stressful. He constantly has to be aware of who knows he's gay and who doesn't. He also tries to remain as discreet as possible regarding it. It sounds like a life of hell and stress and all he wants is acceptance. Who the hell would choose that life? How can I look at his life and say, "Yeah, he chose that for himself"?

Personally, I don't give two s'hits he's gay. I wish more people could be understanding. It just frustrates me.

Well, today was a fun day to sit outside by backyard and watch one of my neighbors get arrested on property damage and domestic violence as he curses like nobody's business into the squad car at 7am. Minutes later, the cul-de-sac was finally peaceful for the first time in forever.
Started to help my uncles fix the window due to the fact my family scheduled an open house in about 3 weeks. I feel like lesser of a man not knowing jack about power tools. ~.~

Really feel for that guy. Even in New Zealand you gotta be careful, but the USA is probably worse. As comfortable as I am with who I am, I've still gotta be aware that there are people who don't feel the same way. A friend of mine recently got bashed for no reason other than they took exception to his orientation. The worst part about it is these guys tend to attack out of a mob mentality. If I were walking down the street with my boyfriend and we got attacked, I could probably defend against one person but any more and we're done.

Stick by him, though. Always good for him to know there are plenty of people who accept him for who he is.

Dinner with the girlfriend then we went and watched Wizard of Oz outside of a local candy/soda shop called Rocket Fizz. I also won a 12 pack of soda from a raffle they were running for going to the show.

Warped tour tomorrow, and I am hoping they will let me bring in my Sony NEX-3 camera. It says no "professional" cameras, and this aint professional...

England lost 2-1 to Uruguay and I want to cry pretty much doomed now considering our next game is against Costa Rica who beat Uruguay 3-1

Be willing to: have open availability, willing to work holidays, willing to work weekends, willing to work nights
Will you do all of those? Probably not, but the more available you are the more likely your app is to be pulled. In my experience as a manager, if someone lists they can't work those we generally completely ignore the app unless it's for specialized positions.

Not completely, if you get follow ups just indicate you're willing to work with them if they'll work with you if you can't do weekends. It all depends on the employer, but in a retail aspect if you cant work weekends and get hired you won't get many hours to begin with anyway. Weekends off, opening shifts, or mid shifts TEND to be a luxury enjoyed by people with seniority. Again, coming from my own experiences so it may vary.
