Honestly, this won't amount to anything if you can't spot what you did wrong (which is harder than it sounds, too). You can't fix what you don't know.

Use normals as a baseline for very basic game knowledge and to practice new champions to memorize their matchups inside and out.

If you want the most mileage, watch streams, read Reddit, take your main champions to Ranked, or submit replays to higher ELO people to ask what you did wrong.

What I have noticed though: the instant I go into ranked, my gameplay goes into the shitter. Given my level of knowledge, even when I'm facing a fair opponent in lane in normals, I just can't translate that into ranked play.

Interestingly enough did bot together with Pantheon. (vs. Jinx and Nidalee) Turned out to be a great match.

Got paired up with a Platinum ranked Caitlyn today. wtp is with Platinums in my games lately?

Anyway, if you're interested in critiquing me or whatever, I was streaming the games today. Forgive me if you hear a lot of awkward breathing and typing... I didn't know OBS was recording sound through my Webcam's mic, instead of my headset mic (which I intentionally muted).

I heartily agree. Cait+Morg tried to dive me (solo) under turret at lvl6 or 7. I came out of it with a double kill They definitely underestimate Nami.

Think it's safe to say Kat is my strongest mid. Hit the ~200 game milestone with her.

If it's any one champion to push me into Gold this season, it'll be Kat probs.

So I've finally perfected fighting Ryze as Renekton.
1. Take stun at lvl1 instead of Q
2. Take dash at lvl2
3. Wait for 50 fury and all in the motherfucker
4. Killed him? Success. Didn't kill him? Try again with another 50 fury
5. (optional) Get your lb fed and rofl stomp everyone

It works pretty well for everyone except Riven where I start Q and laugh as I out sustain her. I'm still not sure how well it works against Jax, but different people start different skills with him I guess. I still have many more matchups to try it with.

I have used it against Ryze, Lissandra, and Garen, and have won the lane all three times. Would've been easier to kill the Ryze if I had ignite, but I took TP instead which helped end the game sooner because I made the last minion standing immune to nexus turrets while my team destroyed the turrets.

IMO the tp/ignite dilema is a real problem for top. If both take ignite, you have an interesting top with trades and actual kill potential. Both take tp, it becomes all about objective control and rotations.
One takes ignite and the other takes tp? Most awkward laning phase ever. One person is trying to avoid all fights while the others tries to force them.

I hadn't thought about Garen. It definitely seems like a good choice there since his sustain and silence are a peach.

Our friend from work asked us to play, as he's "platinum tier" with Garen and wanted to show us up. I don't think my room mate (Ahri) and I (Udyr, obviously) are good enough for this guy.

It's sarcasm. The guy playing Garen sucks. He kept trying to turret dive Anivia, Zac and Pantheon in mid-lane with just he and Ahri there. We kept pinging him to back out, but he just kept diving and dying. The only kills he got were "steals" he got with his ult during team fights. Coming out of laning phase, his CS was horrendous and he wouldn't really push lanes or go for turrets. He'd just go for kills, whether it made him lose his own life or not.

Some Platinum level player right there.
