I wonder if it's a new forme and not mega.

Like, maybe this time we'll give groudon the red orb instead of the blue and he gets a new forme.
Or maybe the red orb is groudon's mega stone and the blue orb is kyogre's mega stone etc.

I think it could be a new form, but it seems weird. because if they did give them new forms then what about mega forms in the future? no pokemon with alternate forms have been given Mega forms yet.

That being said, the changes on the 2 pokemon aren't huge, but they are changes. the changes from Latias/Latios to their mega forms is barely any different other than the colour and a few physical changes. Groudon and Kyogre probably change more than they do in the process of transforming into... whatever these things are.

I doubt there'll be an emerald. They'll most likely do what HG/SS did and just put aspects of the plot from the 3rd game into the original two's storyline. Actually, didn't that trailer imply there was an entirely new story?

After watching it again, eh... maybe not.

I'd imagine the plot is slightly different. I dunno, time is gonna be all wibbly-wobbly, since it's technically going to be occurring at the same time as pokemon Red/Blue. just with up to 700+ pokemon, mega evolutions and the Fairy type to complicate the timeline.

That is why i'm hoping it's like, technically a sequel, or they change around the dates and rewrite Ruby/Sapphire's place in the canon.

When I first read about the new games my first thought was May and Brendan's original looks (hair please hair!) being added to the collection that was available in X and Y as well as some new Hoenn styled clothes.

Additionally, for those folks thinking that the cover art displays mega evos for Kyorge and Groudon, can you link the threads where you've been debating this point? I personally don't see it and I'd like to see where you guys are coming from. I'll read the content in any posted links regarding this...I don't think it's necessary for you guys to restate all of your points here if you've been debating them on other sites already.

ahhhh the colored cases look sooo godly compared to the lame plain white one's we will be getting..
I really hope Nintendo of America reconsiders or at least offers colored cases if you preorder/first print

Can't wait to see how they implement secret bases with the 3DS.

Although coloured cases is fine, I'm more wanting of ruby and sapphire coloured game cartridges, just like the originals!

I also lost my sapphire coin from the preorder bonus, so if they did something similar again, I'd flip my lid.

So much nastalgia !!! Can't wait to play in the Hoenn again in 3D ! X and Y where great so I can only wonder what this remake will bring

It has been confirmed through a trailer on TV that Japanese variety show, Pokémon Get☆TV is to showcase world exclusive first footage of the upcoming games Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire this weekend in the episode airing on Sunday May 11th at 07:30 JST. It's not known what the footage will contain but we'll provide details and screenshots as soon as it airs

i'm legit this close to having a stroke, this announcement came out of nowhere and i want to play this NOW.

Super excited c: At this point I'd take anything, though a sequel would make more sense canon-wise. Either way, I'm ready for what the trickmaster has been digging for the past decade!
