Razmos Wrote:Today though we cleared out the entire back yard (which is massive), made a bonfire to get rid of all the wood (my eyes won't stop stinging and I smell like smoke, even after a shower) and continued filling in the skip. and THEN I went to the gym too and worked really hard. Maybe it's just me, but I like the smell of bonfire smoke on a hoodie or sweater. It usually brings good memories...although I wouldn't want to go for days smelling like it ._. OT: Drove down to Victoria yesterday and stopped at the H&M there since my city doesn't have one, as well as picked up wool roving for more needle felting projects. Then picked up a friend of Stephen's and brought him up here to spend the weekend with us. Long day of driving but at least it's a pretty drive along the malahat.

Regained a lot of use for muscles on the left side of my torso.
Also able to stay standing and move around for about 20-30 minutes before requiring rest to catch up on breathing. Progress! ![]() Too bad I'm not currently far enough along in my recovery to have been my friend's date for free comic book day.

Marksman Bryan Wrote:Rejected from all five summer REU programs and all 10 NASA internship positions. I sent a friendly follow up e-mail to every single program, asking how to improve my application/why I was rejected. Every single place said I was way more than qualified, couldn't improve my application, and how it was "very competitive".Sad to hear this btw.

Brah, I go to Cornell, I applied twice as many times as you, I'm a CS major, and I didn't get any internships either. Let us drink away our sorrows.

Cat died recently. Might make a "C" in advanced molecular biology. Currently existentially shaking my fist at God/The Universe.

I feel so rested. Hopefully it'll keep me awake the rest of the day that looks like it's going to take forever,

Words Wrote:Ouch. How does that happen? :S Tax prepare said she had over 100k in business expenses, as a dental hygenist, along with another 60k in deductions regarding medical. Both were false and she received nearly 20k refunds during those years, so we're asking for those back +P/I. Can't say I feel too bad about it since a college student making like 60kish shouldn't be expecting even 10% of that

It was fucking awesome! Great show. There was a guy though, at the concert with his girlfriend and he was dancing all over with her, and literally leaning back ontop of my girlfriend and I. I switched places with my girlfriend and stood there and didnt budge when he leaned back. He leaned back more, looked and saw I was a dude, then shouted "Im into it!". Only thought I had was "Im not into it!" :f6: Overall a great night.

97,91,90,84,74 for Math3U,EnglishAdv,Bsns,Physics,Math4U Pretty good marks considering the 74 will get scaled up to mid 90's against the rest of the state if I keep it up >:U Med/optom/ridiculouslyhighrequirement courses now seem closer to grasp *-* Also my brush pens arrived! Now to just...figure out what I'll use them for; don't want to drain the ink away on noodling around when I still have so much to learn.

Decided that I need to get out there, meet people and get a job.
Finding a job though... it's so annoying. I'm having barely any luck whatsoever. Every job requires like a year of experience, but you can't get experience unless you find a job, but all the jobs you find require experience! it is bullshit. It's stupid because I do have 2 years experience working at another job, but all the experience required is stupidly specific. If the government has a such a damn hard on for unemployment, maybe they should tell businesses to be SLIGHTLY less picky.

So there's a good chance that after I graduate next April, that I'll be moving to Victoria.
I'm pretty stoked about that. Victoria is a lot more friendly in terms of walkability, transit, and biking to get to where you wanna go. Hopefully the place we'll get will be dog-friendly. I'd really like to have a dog that we can take on our hiking adventures with us
