i prefer the latex and rockets myself. but about the heels it's less of "where else would the rockets go" and more of "these heels are terrible design, whart can we do to make them relevant?"

Then again, the whole ZS Samus is nothing but fanservice to me, why would she fight in skin-tight latex? Doesn't she have any lighter armor for speed and maneuvering? Hell, why not Fusion Suit Samus? That's close enough.

At the time brawl happened, Zero suit samus only showed up in Zero mission during the near endgame when her original power suit was destroyed and she had no choice but to use it to sneak around the space pirate ship. It then didn't show up in prime 2/3 at all until they went way pineappleing overboard in Other M.
Fusion suit samus would just be a clone of samus and would have added nothing to the game. There was also a fusion suit colour scheme in brawl.

because the whole point of the ZS is that it's what's worn below the suit, look at any mecha anime, nobody wears armor inside the mecha or robot, and in fact the skintight latex suit is quite common (lelouch of the rebellion, or good old evangelion for example)

Samus is supposed to be more acrobatic with the armour because while it's obviously not lighter in the traditional sense, it has all sorts of boosters/etc to do the motions for her.

It's even worse when the guy (sakamoto?) who was in charge of plot decided that the prime trilogy were the uncanon ones and other m was the "real" canon.
