Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS)
byakugan Wrote:This chapter was really bad to be honest. The fact alone Greemy didn't show his face after being cut in this chapter makes it evident next chapter he will stand up with a grim and be like "I'm sorry but this is way to easy for me" or something.

He did show his face, though? I think it's already been established in this chapter, with his facial expression, that he is fine with being cut.

Is it just me, or is that Aizen #3?

Quote of the year:

Kenpachi: "This is making me hard"

I guess the true strength of that technique is that, if there are 2 Gremmys, even if one ends up thinking he will die the other one can protect him by imagining he wont.

Seems the only way to beat Gremmy will be to burst him out with 1 overwhelming attack before he can even react, which I totally doubt Kenpachi will want to do.

They would give Kenpachi a huge mother fuckin' scythe.

Meh zanpakutou. Never cared too much for Kenpachi, tbh.

Unless Kenpachi's zanpakutou has a super hax ability, he still can't win against Gremmy. Since he can just imagine Kenpachi's loss like he almost did to himself.

Of course he's just as battle hungry as Kenpachi and limits himself...

Wow... Looks like someone is overcompensating.

By the fact the command is "Drink," I'm thinking it might be some form of energy draining ability.

It doesn't work like that. If kenpachi believes it won't kill him , it can't kill him.

That's why he went for a big flashy attack everyone could see coming: If they didn't see it coming and imagine there was no way they could survive it, the attack wouldn't have worked on anyone. Since kenpachi believes he is strong enough to beat any of the attacks, he can do.

How did you derive to a scythe? It looks to be the epitome of a zanbato

It's more like a bearded-axe if anything. It's clearly not a sword or scythe. :f6:

sure Gman imagined the meteor destroying, but he never "didnt not imagine" kenpachi could cut/destroy the meteor.
plus, Gman said "even if you kill me..." meaning he's already given up on surviving.

kenpachi: there isnt anything i can't cut.
cuts meteor
cue Gman BSOD.

You mean it might not work like that. We don't really have any confirmed info on how his ability works yet.

I'm just going with a different interpretation based on the last few chapters instead of his interaction with Yachiru.

All I hope is we find out how Gremmy's abilities work. All this lack of information really is killing Gremmy's character. There's the theory around that he has to touch people for his imagination powers to affect the body, other one says the person has to imagine themselves what Greemy says in order for it to work. Since neither has happened to Kenpachi yet its hard to say.

Simple: If anyone hears what he says, they are affected by it. Kenny hears, but is ignorant to any opinions of merit but his own with regards to himself.

It seems obvious he has to make someone else believe what he imagines for it to be true. Likely his actual power is to create illusions that then become "reality" once someone else accepts them as true.

It doesn't necessarily have to be through telling them: anyone who sees the effects of his power who believes it to be real makes it real too. Conversely, believing it can't be real can repel the effects somewhat (e.g. when kenpachi decided that yachirus bones must have healed, they were. When kenpachi decided he would cut the meteor, he did, so on).

I'm sure we're all aware of this or are thinking something similar.

Going along this theory though, if Gremny could imagine Kenpachi dead, then Kenpachi wouldn't be alive to imagine otherwise?

Yachiru is there so he should still try at the very least. I'm accounting it to his bloodlust.

He'd still have to make them believe he was dead. It seemed to work directly on those two who were bed ridden when he first appeared, he told Yonohanas vice captain that the 2 were dead, she then ran over and confirmed it.

Everyone is aware that he is "the kenpachi" and just got a massive power up, and it only seems to work if he can make it believable. For it to even have a chance of working, someone would have to see him land a potentially fatal attack on kenpachi AND convince them that it worked without them waiting to see if it did or not.

How many times throughout the series has he done the seemingly impossible? (looking at the off-screen espada killing) He simply does what he wants, and if others say it's impossible, he defies them on principle. He wanted to be the strongest, so he is the strongest. Anyone that says he is weak, or anything to question his strength, serves to strengthen him.

I had Sanosuke in mind when I saw it so I'm guessing zanbato

It does look like a zanbato.

And as much as all those theories make sense and seem pretty likely, if they were true letter by letter then Kenpachi already won and the battle is almost over, because there's no way Gremmy can't make Kenpachi believe a thing. Considering how much Kubo likes to draw thigns out, 'm sure Gremmy still holds something up his sleeve. more likely considering he is the strongest among the sternritten.
